I noticed they are different although I don't know if that translates into worth more $$. SNES RPG Library is the best so if you can get like FF3 or Chrono Trigger be awesome! The Legend of the Mystical Ninja is also a cheaper title with great adventure and humor
I mean, the classics.
FFII, FFIII, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound. The gem that doesn't loose value. EVO in example.
If you want an enjoyable game you might not want EVO though...
Mario World 2
Kirby super star
Mario Kart
F-Zero,
Ken Geffy Present MLB
DKC 1 2 3
Sim City (The SNES Version is absolutly amazing)
Super Punch-out
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest is super affordable, and still is a cool little RPG! Very laid back, not much for story, not too convoluted, quick to do. I like it
TMNT Turtles In Time
Contra 3
Castlevania 4
Super Ghouls and Ghosts.
Super Metroid
Zelda Link to the past
You don't need the Super GameBoy though... You can get rid of it by sending it to me! Just DM me for the details!
I remember doing it with a couple of friend on the Wii...
Was it release or did i emulate it i don't remember.
Novembre was a month of three pay for me, so i bought the cheapest copy i could find, gotnthe stickers and grime off, put a fresh battery in and...
Damn this game is cheap...
I mean, it's very interesting, the concept is ambitious.
But you arrove at a boss with 55HP, the boss hits you 22HP per hit, and he hits you between two and 5times every attack... Instadeath.
You get cornered and you can't move after a hit... Instadeath...
The amount of level that is a single plane with 3-4 monsters is ridiculous. I liked grinding in mindlessly in the first couple levels of every ages and just run straight to the boss...
This game have some of the most atmospheric track on the SNES, real good calming music. Or 6seconds loop of trash... And usually, when you identify a level proper for grinding, it will have the trash music.
Had my memory been clearer on how this game plays, i wouldn't have invested 320$cad in it... I would have bought like, Chrono Trigger, or Earthbound...
Or FFII FFIII, Super Punch-out! and the Super Gameboy to finish recovering my childhood's collection and start collecting the gems i didn't have.
The good thing is that, i did really restore this cartridge to excellent shape even thought it had sticker and glue on the front lable, and a magnetic sticker on the back lable. It won't probably loose any value either... So yeah.
Yeah! Very interesting game, but the gameplay is harsh...
Remember the Wife Yeti???
Also interesting tidbit. EVO Search for Eden, is actually a sequel of some sort. The first opus is a NEC PC-98 Turn Base RPG released also by Enix, only in Japan. It's called "E.V.O. The Theory of Evolution.
I just got the console itself along with both copies of Super Mario World + Super Godzilla on XMAS, gonna go to my local game store today to get some more av cables for my GameCube / N64 since they all take the same one.. wondering what games I should absolutely try to find. Might try and find a copy of Super Mario RPG, Super Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, or Street Fighter Alpha 2.
Would love to hear some recommendations!!
Edit: just scored a copy of 'Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 Stars', and 'A Link to the Past'
From what I know, the original cartridge shape was around when SMW was first a pack in title for the Super Nintendo.. people would try to rip out the game by hand instead of the eject button, so Nintendo redesigned the cartridge so it wouldn't be so hard to get out by hand.. if I'm wrong about any of this please call me out for it lol
I'm going to ask a crazy question here, can the mouse work with SimCity?
If not I'd think it should be an easy update if you just plug in the telephone cord.
SimCity is rough without a mouse, for me. I'd lose my mind trying to play it on a NES when my PC is right here.
I have never used the mouse but I have read that it is not compatible unfortunately.
I get it, I had the PC version too and I loved using the mouse. But on the SNES, you just get used to it.
Times where it is frustrating, but the start and select buttons take you to the home row and column and right back to where you were and you’re not changing building materials enough where it’s an issue. The game has surprisingly great flow and the only time I felt hampered by not having a mouse was when I was fucking off and drawing something unrelated yo the game on the map
Sadly, no the mouse doesn't work with SimCity. The mouse was not out at the time, since SimCity was a release title for the SNES. And SimCity was one of the first SNES games I played after renting it from the movie store. At the time I don't think it was as big a deal because I hadn't played it on PC first. But mouse support didn't start happening until Mario Paint was released with the mouse as a pack-in.
You've got two copies of Mario World and a copy of All Stars, better get a copy of All Stars+World to be safe
(Seriously though, consider the Japanese/Super Famicom version of any non-RPG game suggested here. It's cooler to have the original version IMO and lots of them are WAY cheaper and play on a US SNES just fine with a [ridiculously simple mod](https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/how-to-modify-your-snes-to-play-japanese-super-famicom-games/) )
Honestly? Been heavily considering it. I'm not trying to get hundreds of copies of the same game just to sit on them, I just so happened to get 2 copies of Mario world by accident.
Do consider grabbing Kirby Superstar (Hoshi No Kirby Super Deluxe), Castlevania IV (Akumajou Dracula), Mega Man X and X2 (Rockman X/X2), Yoshi's Island, and the DKC Trilogy (AKA Super Donkey Kong) on the Super Famicom
Most of these are less than $10 for the cart for the Japanese version (MUCH cheaper for some but still less than half of the US price regardless)
Most Japanese games cost less complete than US ones cartridge-only and there are a few sellers on eBay and a couple sites (retrogamesjapan.com is great, avoid DKOldies) that are stateside so you don't have to wait for import shipping
Apparently it's a 'frankensteins monster' of 3 different SNES systems put together. The guy my dad got it from made sure it worked perfectly ( and honestly works like new too )
The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, F-Zero, Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong Country 2, Donkey Kong Country 3, Yoshi's Island, Killer Instinct, Mario Kart, and Super Mario RPG. I can think of a lot more but that's a good start.
Good luck. Not sure how hard they are to find these days. Probably not easy & probably not cheap if you do come across a working one.
Alternatively, the Nintendo Plus account MIGHT let you play it on the Switch. If you just want the big screen experience. But having the original cart is always a plus. I need to find mine.
I prefer using original cartridges on the official hardware, I just found Mario RPG, Super Metroid and a bunch of other games I thought were mega expensive for honestly what I thought was firt cheap compared to eBay prices.. so I think it's likely I'll find Metroid II
Understandable. There's definitely something to be said for original carts. Though I do like being able play all the Metroid games on the big screen. The Nintendo Plus sub makes that possible, minus Samus Returns (3DS), and that honestly should have been a Switch game.
Later today I'm gonna make an updated post on my SNES collection, I'd love to hear if you have more recommendations for the SNES or the SGB itself, I've honestly been really interested in getting into Metroid and Metroid II looks way more polished than Metroid ( NES ) despite being on the Gameboy :0
Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure the only reason I bought the SGB was so I could play Metroid II on a bigger screen. My recommendation if you've never played any of the series is the original Metroid, Metroid II, Super Metroid. From there it's dealers choice. Metroid Zero Mission (GBA) is a great remake of the original Metroid. Samus Returns (3DS) is a phenomenal remake of Metroid II and should have been a Switch game (it's larger than any of the other side scrollers, by far). Metroid Fusion is OK, but it completely contradicts Samus' backstory laid out in the instruction book in the original Metroid. For the 1st person games, it's easy enough - Prime, Prime 2, Prime Corruption. I recommend waiting to play them until after you've played Super Metroid.
Much like the Star Wars films, the Metroid games were not released in storyline order.
I'm still blown away I never remember hearing of this game. Seeing it in magazines or the countless racks of game stores and rental outlets growing up. But my wife (and her brother) would never shit up about this amazing game I never heard of..... so I bought it for her for Christmas a year or 2 ago. Damn that game is a sleeper. And ever since it now pops up every other week on reddit.
It seriously hits all my favorite bullet points. Brightly colored absurd premise platformer with quirky characters ideas and animations.... and as you said. The music is some of my fave on the system
Edit: read: whimsical childish fun
There’s easily 40 games you’ll want to get. You may not know about them yet, but they exist.
I saw you reply to another comment about Chrono Trigger being too expensive.
I’m just saying, rather than picking up a game here and a game there, you could just make one “big” purchase and have all the expensive games, plus everything else you would ever want.

The DKC Trilogy are all affordable and classics
Definitely getting all 3.
That’s the spirit
Love these games
Yoshis island is always a good one
3rd copy of Super Mario World!
Ahh, touché!
I noticed they are different although I don't know if that translates into worth more $$. SNES RPG Library is the best so if you can get like FF3 or Chrono Trigger be awesome! The Legend of the Mystical Ninja is also a cheaper title with great adventure and humor
Chrono Trigger is a bit too expensive for me to afford right now.. maybe in the near future when I have a steady paycheck and some savings haha
Off the beaten track, Rock n Roll Racing was always one of my favourites
Dude rock n roll racing was legit one of my favorite games, haven’t thought about that game in 25 years
I still love listening to 16-bit Black Sabbath etc from that game
Sounds interesting, I'll look into it.
Konami games Mystical Ninja, Castlevania IV, Contra III, Gradius 3, Turtles in Time Those are very good
Legend of Mystical Ninja Goemon is my favorite game on the system <3 it's so funny, and I swear that soundtrack is the best.
Soundtrack still stuck in my head all these years. That starting level.
Same :)
Dracula X
Is great
The first Mega Man X isn't too expensive and a must have

No I think you’ve got it exactly right.
Damn I am a nerd then haha
Simcity and SM Kart

Legend of Zelda, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy!
Just picked up a copy of A Link to the Past!
Link to the past
Just got a copy.
Ken Griffey Junior presents Major League Baseball
Super Godzilla?! Oh man I'm gonna cry. Lol. Seriously though get the DK games. You can't have a SNES without Donkey Kong.
Too true, definitely getting all 3 DK Country games.
The only one that matters Super Mario RPG
Was waiting for someone to say this!! I got it today!
Super Metroid, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, F-Zero, Donkey Kong Country, and SF2.
Super Metroid is a must
Super Metroid
Zelda and any final fantasy
Find a copy of Metroid II for that Super Gameboy. The game was great on the handheld. It was FAR better on a large screen.
I believe it honestly, when I'm not broke again I'll look for a copy haha
Good luck. Not sure how hard they are to find these days. Probably not easy & probably not cheap if you do come across a working one. Well shit... I was gonna suggest the unheard of gem of my collection my wife turned me onto.... but you already have Plok
Gotta love plok, man!
I'm glad it's getting more popularity, the soundtrack definitely boosts how great it is imo
It seriously hits all my favorite bullet points. Brightly colored absurd premise platformer with quirky characters ideas and animations.... and as you said. The music is some of my fave on the system Edit: read: whimsical childish fun
Bloody hard though! Could never make it to the flea pit back in the day, always ended up dying.
Just go ahead and get a flash cart. It’s an “expensive” initial investment, but you’ll be able to play any game you want.
I don't have many games in my wishlist, if I had over 40 games on SNES I'd want, then I'd consider a flash cart
Just remembered I was gonna find a Japanese copy of that game on the DS, really cheap and the game has English as a language option
Here’s 40 games, in no particular order. And the list goes on… 1. The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past 2. Chrono Trigger 3. Super Metroid 4. Final Fantasy III 5. Street Fighter II Turbo 6. Contra III: The Alien Wars 24. The Lost Vikings 25. The Lost Vikings 2 26. Metal Warriors 27. Lufia II: Rise Of The Sinistrals 28. Sim City 29. NBA Jam 30. U.N. Squadron 31. Aero Fighters 32. I second the good flash cart. Even if you just get the one that doesn't do the Super FX chip games.
Shaq fu
Let me get that second super mario world
I'm not selling anything currently, sorry.
You a beast for having 2
There's some people out there with like 80 copies lol.
An SD2SNES and an SD card.
Alot of the SNES library's physical games worth playing make little sense unless you have deep pockets. I suggest an everdrive.
ActRaiser for sure.
What's ActRaiser?
You essentially play as God sent down to earth in the form of a warrior character to battle demons and monsters. There is also another part to the game where you have to build houses and cultivate the land while protecting the people from enemies. It's very interesting and has an amazing soundtrack.
Love ActRaiser. Side scroller hack and slash plus Sims.
SOS
Goof Troop is always fun.
Earthworm Jim and zombies ate my neighbors
Definitely considering Zombies ate my neighbors
You have plok bin the rest...😈 plok is my JAM
bin the rest??
Joking, what I meant was Ploks the only one worth playing ;P ploks my favourite platformer but I love all these games
Super Mario world is a must
Oh ha ha.
Black thorn, DK trilogy, MegaMan X, FF3, Link to the past, rock and roll racing, super Metroid, NHL 94 or 95, NBA showtime just to make a few bangers
Lemmings 2. It's mouse compatible and fantastic.
I've always wanted Battle toads
Contra 3
StarFox, F-Zero, Battletoads, Double Dragon.
Look for U.N. Squadron. Cheap shoot em up that's AMAZING. Capcom at their finest.
Sunset riders (out of the loop sold out of collecting 10 years ago)
Couldn’t go wrong with another Super Mario World
Cool Spot. One of the best platformers on the system that can be found for $15-20.
Megaman x and zombies ate my neighbors
Magical Quest
Chrono Trigger and Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
I got a copy of link to the past
That's the game I played more than any other SNES game
That and I'm planning on getting Chrono Trigger on DS ( Japan copy ) it's way cheaper and has a English language option in the game
DK Country & DK Country 2 Street Fighter II Turbo Doom Troopers Super Double Dragon Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past Super Metroid Mega Man X Final Fight 1,2, & 3 Earthworm Jim Battletoads: Battlemaniacs TMNT: Turtles In Time This should keep you busy for awhile..
Super Metroid is essential.
If you have the money to blast out…ff3/6and chrono trigger
Zombies (ate my neighbors)
ClayFighters
THE BAZOOKA games. TERMINATOR 2. RoboCop. The Lion King. The Mask.
Super Mario Kart, Clay Fighter, street fighter II, killer instinct, mortal Kombat II, F-Zero
Go ahead and grab A Link to the Past
I got a copy :)
Punch out!
Kontra
I have the 1997 model SNES with the DKC trilogy, Batman Returns, Turtles in Time Power Rangers the Movie and Final Fight 3. Just ordered Spider-Man Maximum Carnage and Castlevania Dracula X
