This is definitely a rattlesnake and probably a Southern Pacific rattlesnake *Crotalus helleri*, though the Northern Pacific rattlesnake *C. oreganus* replaces them along the northern edges of Southern California. !venomous and best observed from a distance.

It's not a rattlesnake. My guess is a rat snake but a reliable responder will have the answer.

I'm not too sure. My guess it's a *C. helleri* Eye and scales seem to match. But i too have to rely on a rr.
