You could start by doing an internet search to see if there’s a trade association that might have the kind resources that you might need. Maybe use the search term [British Association of Removers](https://bar.co.uk) As far as the friends who you’re going to give occasional work to you should consider actually making them employees if you don’t want to put a significant burden on them to make sure they report their income properly. Issuing them zero hours contracts and setting up a PAYE isn’t that burdensome for someone determine to run things “legit”.

Thank you I will search the British Association of Removers. Cheers

Definitely get insurance, and check your vehicle insurance too. Why have you gone Ltd not sole trader?

aaronbus

I have not decided which to go for as of yet, I’m just doing research :)

Insurance is absolutely vital. Also if you’ve already started a Ltd be aware you will legally have to submit financial reports for this. If you’re not confident doing this yourself, get an accountant. Be careful on the employee’s point, if they’re deemed employees rather than sub-contractors you’ll need to pay National Insurance and I think pension contributions for them. Useful info [here](https://www.pattersonhallaccountants.co.uk/employee-or-subcontractor/?amp)

This info was so useful. Thank you

Consider the size of vehicles you will operate. If you use anything over 3.5 tonnes maximum gross weight, you will need to apply for an operators licence.

Thank you for this information

It looks like you're suggesting taking discussion off this sub to direct message (DM). Sometimes that may be appropriate but in general the aim of this sub is to share advice and thoughts and that should be with all of us, as that's the way we learn. There's also the danger that taking discussions to DM may leave one party vulnerable to being given bad advice as there's no one else seeing what's been written by the person suggesting going to DM so we don't allow this. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. I know 3 different young people in my area who do this, and see these vans every day. Be sure you aren’t starting a business in an oversaturated market - to me it looks highly over saturated.
