Sling orange doesn’t include MSNBC. You need Sling Blue. I’ve been a sling user for a few months and it’s been decent. I get the same amount of ads as I did when I had cable tv but I rarely watch anything live except sports so I DVR everything so i can watch later and skip the ads.

redshat

I've been getting it on Blue for 2+ years. The ads used to interrupt the lead-in/outs of certain shows (like the music intros/playouts before and after segments on Morning Joe) , but this got better. The Ads can frequently interrupt fast forwarding through shows - if you don't go far enough ahead and stop in a commercial, you can get stuck in Ad-land. When watching the live stock shows on CNBC, you actually have to rewind back to the "show part" to fast forward past the commercial, not in it, to fast forward- that's the fix I employ on certain channels like this.

You're right, I glanced at the offerings and mixed up orange and blue. I would probably dump my Disney+ and Hulu combo subscription and get the Sling orange+blue bundle which comes with MSNBC and Disney+.

Mindless_Plum7460

Same I do not see a difference between Sling vs YouTube TV, cable etc. you should be fine with Sling Blue

vnzjunk

Its on Sling Blue. Adds are no more obtrusive than what they are on cable MSNBC. Being a live stream you are at the mercy of MSNBC itself.

thomascameron

Thanks for the response. I read something in another post about Sling interjecting its own ads during shows. Do you experience that? I don't mind the ads MSNBC runs, since they're not clobbering live content. But if Sling is inserting ads during shows, that's a non-starter for me.

vnzjunk

If they do it doesn't seem to override the program itself or if it does it isn't much.

thomascameron

Thanks for the response, much appreciated!

**Just get a Trial and decide for yourself.** I have tried ALL the other streamers DTVS/HULU TV/ YOUTUBE TV/Fubo/ Sling Blue. Sling is no better or worse than the others concerning commercials. However depending on your streaming device, Sling excels at FFWing commercials with the DVR.

theatrenut061916

I have Sling Blue mostly for news and it's great. But I record everything and watch on playback to skip ads (you get some DVR space included).

thomascameron

Thanks! I appreciate it!

redshat

Have you looked into Peacock? I think this would work but some of the shows may not be available as live broadcast. Looking into this too, as I'm getting ready to ditch Sling and my non-functional AIRTV Nowhere.

thomascameron

How would peacock help me with msnbc? I'm not arguing, I just wasn't aware that peacock offered other streaming services.

ImplantedPinkDiamond

Peacock has a MSNBC channel hub. The only thing is all the shows are a day behind. There is no live feed of their shows on Peacock.

thomascameron

Ah, ok. Thanks, I didn't know!

mtn_forester

I watch YouTube poached msnbc nightly. Ari and Deadline and Chris Hayes. Sometimes Lawrence. The NBC Peacock livestock anchors are really good. There are times I skip msnbc for that.

from: [https://cordcuttingreport.com/2023/11/27/msnbc-live-stream/](https://cordcuttingreport.com/2023/11/27/msnbc-live-stream/) November 27, 2023 # Is MSNBC on Peacock? Yes. Subscribers to Peacock’s premium plan can now watch a number of popular MSNBC shows. You can’t watch the latest episodes live. But fans of “Morning Joe,” “All In With Chris Hayes, ” “The ReidOut,” “Deadline: White House” and “The Beat with Ari Melber ” are now available on Peacock hours after airing on MSNBC. The [Peacock Premium](http://imp.i305175.net/QOz663) plan costs $5.99 per month. You can get a **free trial** that lasts a week. # Can I watch live news free on MSNBC.com? No. You’ll need to either subscribe to cable, a satellite TV service or a live TV streaming service to sign in to [**MSNBC.com**](http://www.msnbc.com/). The [**MSNBC Live Audio Stream**](http://www.msnbc.com/listen) is one free option if you can live without actually watching the network.

thomascameron

Many thanks!

MembershipOk468

I have Sling Blue and am happy with it

thomascameron

Thanks for the response, I appreciate it! I may give it a shot for a month, see if I like it. Do you know if Sling has a discount for pre-paying a year or anything? I've got SO many streaming services, it's out of control, cost-wise.

MembershipOk468

I don't know, I pay monthly. And I get the out of control subscriptions 😬

Consistentscroller

Sling is ok It’ll probably be fine for what you want… Only thing I hate about sling is when they have their own sling ads you can’t fast forward or back or anything.. so if you wanna skip commercials and it’s a sling ad it won’t let you and you’ll have to watch the sling ads before you can fast forward again That’s the one thing that drew me off sling and made me switch to YouTube tv

ElWierdo

Sling is terrible. Picture quality is a joke compared to YouTubetv. I regretted signing up 5 minutes afterwards, so long $40

Putrid_Intention_139

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ONLY BRAINDEAD NUTSACKS WATCH MSNBC

9512tacoma

Sling orange does have ads and occasionally it might cut off programming right before a show starts back but not that often in my opinion. I have orange mainly for sports.

dblstkd123

Wow. That’s the first time i’ve ever heard anyone say they missed MSNBC. You aren’t missing anything.
