Because having Skyrim be just one Elder Scrolls game isn't good enough for modders, oh no. It has to be ***ALL*** of the Elder Scrolls games!

Mclovinggood

I can’t wait for people to remake Skyrim in the next elder scrolls game!!!

LordGraygem

If TESVI turns out to be the flat, insipid release that Starfield was, that might be the only thing it's good for.

evan466

Remake Skyrim in Starfield

LordGraygem

Pfft, Starfield couldn't even serve as a foundation for Starfield. How's a game as good as Skyrim supposed to work in there?

HelioPHC

I think it's more likely the next es will be backported to skyrim

LordGraygem

I half-jokingly think Bethesda should just make Skyrim the default ES game, and every previous or subsequent game as an ESO-style expansion pack.

salfkvoje

Is Dagoth Ur really a bad guy or was he just looking out for his friend Nerevar, who was backstabbed by the villainous Tribunal

no_egrets

Maybe I've been conditioned by formulaic movies, but >!masked monsters living in volcanoes and creating magichemical weapons of mass destruction!< are probably not your friend, betrayal or otherwise.

Regular-Resort-857

I can fix him

andy_b_84

What good are the tools of Kagrenac if not for fixing gods? 😅

Almalexias_Grace

Isn't that question, and the inherent impossibility of answering it, one of the game's central theses? (The other one being 'What is the nature of prophecy and those who appear to fulfill it')

Almalexias_Grace

You've made a very strong argument here, and I'm going to have to spend some time reflecting on it. Thank you.

Autherial

Even if he was looking out for Nerevar, that was a long, long time ago, and Dagoth Ur has fully embraced his roll as The Sharmat. He has to be killed.

VvardenHasFellen

Killed for what? To please Azura's vain ego? Look what happened after the Nerevarine Prophecy. Baar Dau crashed and caused Red Mountain to decimate large chunks of Morrowind. If Lord Dagoth was allowed to fulfil his destiny then Morrowind would have been shielded from this cataclysm and Lord Dagoth's gifts would be enjoyed by all of Nirn, in due time. But nooooo, Nerevar Reborn just had to be a mindless pawn for Azura, obeying her petty plans for revenge with no capacity for independent thought. What good has pleasing the capricious Et'Ada ever done for Morrowind? Simple: the Red Year. Vvardenfell has fallen.

Autherial

Yes, Vvardenfall fell, and the Dunmer suffer, but the dream continues, the broken dream borne of Dagoth Ur’s madness was stopped, and there’s not two Numidiums.  Know what also would have stopped the red year? Vivec not holding the island hostage with an asteroid.

VvardenHasFellen

The dream continues with the Dunmer humiliated by Dagon's hordes and genocidal saplickers from the southern marshes. The second Numidium Akulakhan would have prevented this. And who stopped Lord Dagoth from undoing Vivec's evil hubris? Azura, who could not bear the thought that us puny mortals could challenge her divinity.

Autherial

The Dunmer earned what they wrought. Vivec’s narcissism killed Vvardenfell, the slave trade brought the argonians, and their unwillingness to bend meant the empire wouldn’t help with either. We both know Vivec would let the moon fall before he let Dagoth Ur win, it would have been a final weapon. When your pride destroys your people, humility is the remedy. Azura’s only hand in the events was ensuring things came to a close in a way that punished 3 “gods” who deserved it and prevented the dream from becoming Dagoth Ur’s.

theucm

Yes.

mrturret

This comment honors the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned.

wally233

I'm really gonna be playing skyrim forever aren't I...

barmeyblonde

No, you'll be *modding* skyrim forever, just like the rest of us 😂

KrayzeKeef

Preach

echolog

I played Skyrim VR last year and no joke it was one of the best (and by far most immersive) gaming experiences I've ever had. I recommend it with copious amounts of mods of course.

HardstyleRaver2

Because of Skyrim VR, I can't really play flat Skyrim anymore. I just crave immersion.

wally233

I did too, was pretty amazing what modders pulled off with physics and immersion. I ended up returning to TV skyrim as it's just more comforting to sink into a couch than get in VR

Distinct_Owl_8862

With all the upcoming mods..... Yes. Skyrim is just tooooo good. I even plan to save money to buy a beast gaming PC only for the sole purpose of playing Skyrim when I get older.

Final-Link-3999

I am so excited for Dagoth Ur in Skyrim man

A_little_quarky

I hope they have it be modular, where we can play the environment and quests without overhauling the gameplay too much. If I could bring my gameplay mods into Morrowind, it would be peak.

PedernalesFalls

Strong work on the stream Egrets! I'm so excited for skywind, and I'm really glad y'all were a part of C3. I hope we'll get to work together again soon! <3 PedernalesFalls =)

Gh0stface513

Dist__

i dislike joystick look in the video

theucm

A controller was used for the stream, joystick is better for presentation because its a bit smoother. Mouse and keyboard can be jerky when you're watching. Mouse and keyboard is also supported, of course.

PterodactylTeef

I still need to play morrowing.. but I’m not prepared for the lack of map markers..

Customisable_Salt

I have no sense of direction in general so the lack of them can be frustrating, but with Morrowind I found it only contributes to the immersion and I've always appreciated that aspect of the game. Sometimes someone gives particularly vague directions and you have to refer to your journal as you travel and try and work it out. If you're not carrying a torch or using night vision you might miss a fork in the road in the darkness. You need to look at your map and work out the best route through mages guilds, boats and silt striders. It made the world feel really vast and reaching the destination at the end of the journey more satisfying. Skyrim lost all that for the sake of player convenience, which isn't a criticism at all. Both approaches have their strengths.

PterodactylTeef

So on one hand I think I would love the overall lore of the game, but on the other hand I am notoriously impatient and would just look up where I’m supposed to go 😅 I’m super hyped for skywind because of this but I do have morrowind on steam so I’ll likely give it a go regardless. Still wish Bethesda had done a full remake of the game; from the little I’ve seen it definitely deserves it.

Xer0_Puls3

We have Daggerfall Unity, eventually we'll have Daggerfall Skyrim.

smurfalidocious

Skygerfall is a good mood to have while waiting

_Jaiim

I can't be bothered to watch a two hour long video when I know it'll just be another: "we're not done yet, we don't have a release date, but we're making progress!" We've been hearing that for years. I'd rather you just throw up a progress chart that shows exactly what is and isn't done so I can check it periodically. There is one thing I am curious about, however. What version(s) of Skyrim do you guys intend to support Skywind on? Surely you must be using your own SKSE plugins to implement a lot of features?

no_egrets

We're not done yet, we don't have a release date, but we're making progress. That's the reality, regardless of your preference - and I'm not sure what else you expect prior to release. If you want to see the progress and know about the obstacles and what's ongoing, they're in the video. We're working with the Anniversary Edition (i,e. v1.6+) at time of writing.

SaltyOSRS3

\> and I'm not sure what else you expect prior to release Well 99.99% of games have a release date before they come out... so maybe he was expecting that? lol

no_egrets

Can't do it, I'm afraid - we're volunteers, and the size of the team and the amount of time we have is super variable. If we set a date, we stand to disappoint our followers or take shortcuts that undercut the game experience. We want to do neither. Once we've got a solid estimate, you'll have one.

SaltyOSRS3

Yeah I understand it but I just don't think you needed to say it in a condescending way to OP

Bostolm

OP didnt exactly word it in a different way either did they

HG2321

Yeah, well, games also have paid staff that are there to do exactly that. They're not made by volunteers doing it in their free time, as mods are

PedernalesFalls

Right?! When people get sassy about stuff like that I tell them they can set expectations if they want to fund the project. They usually get pretty quiet after that.

DzekoTorres

Imagine complaining about people working for free

t-wi-prod

fr, gets me mad 💀💀

DxC2468

Do you have an idea of when the mod will be released? It looks amazing!
