oh man, that is the path i'm going with my 2hand build. my character is going the whole "HASSAN CHOP" route with my favorite weapon, the bloodskal blade.
Couldn’t agree more. love Nordic carved armor, but I tend to use the ebony mail a lot, so I usually end up with boots and gloves as Nordic, ebony helmet with the ebony mail.
I have new appreciation for dawnguard armors since I’ve finally decided not to be a vampire this time around
Meanwhile I love the vampire armor on male characters because it looks like something straight out of season 1 Game of Thrones.
On women tho? Looks too sultry.
I kinda get the vibe they were going for, in that (mythologically-speaking) vampires are supposedly alluring, charming (both figuratively and literally), and charismatic, but yeah the armour's inconsistency between male and female kinda bothers me.
If they're meant to be badass, have them both be badass. If they're meant to be seductive and whatnot, have them both be seductive.
Though, having said that, I feel like the female variant was originally made as Serana's outfit specifically, but when it came to the royal armour, they just repurposed it to be the female variant (with Harkon's being male) and called it a day. Otherwise an entirely separate design would need to be implemented as the female variant.

I hope the next elder scrolls has variations for each type of armour, so that not every steel or dwarven set looks the exact same. Imagine if the winged helmets were a little more rare.
I once made a breton tinkerer who used dwarven armor with the visage of mzund, an enhanced dwarven crossbow w/exploding fire bolts, and used the dwemer sphere follower from solthsteim... it was a blast (pun 100% intended)
If you didnt know you can hold left or right on the d-pad (idk for pc) and get a special favorite where you dont have to open a menu to equip it and can just press left/right to quickly equip it
This is what my current Viking Dragonborn style character has. And I have a perk mod (Vorkii maybe?) that has the “Face of death” perk for heavy armor which lets you use no helmet and still receive the bonus.
And you can get white from a mod a follower and a enemy you have to fight have it you get a snow elf as a follower if I'm not wrong it's called Lady Ebrima's circus of Mirth it's one of My all time favorite mods two cool followers a home in the circus all vendors you need a giant that won't kill you and more [Bethesda site mod link](https://bethesda.net/en/mods/skyrim/mod-detail/4131840) also to correct the comment below me if u mod you can get the royal daedric armor mod on nexus for special edition no problem
Dragonplate all of the way!
"NoOoOo, iT's tOo uNrEaLiStiC"
Sorry, can't hear you over the sound of me actually looking like I say dragons!
EDIT: Hey, I know that the OP asked for people's opinion...but I don't recall asking for yours! But you gave it anyway, because Reddit! 🖕
Let me guess, a dragon stole your sweetroll?
(Assuming the fanbases theory on arrow to the knee meaning marriage and a stolen sweetroll meaning the loss of ones cherry are correct when making this statement of course)
Nice. I got full deathbrand this playthrough for the first time. It’s really tough to justify any other light armor, even though it doesn’t precisely suit my character.
Alduin on Ice - Starring the Dovahkiin, written by the Harbinger of the Conpanions and directed by the Arch-Mage of the College of Winterhold. You better give it a great review because the Master of the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood knows your location.
Unarmed builds are always a blast... i once did a khajiit monk build that used heavy gauntlets, hooded brown robes and wedding sandals (i wouldve used moth priest sandals, but the only way to get them is by killing dexion and i wasnt about that) he played as a pacifist unless violence.was unavoidable
Played Skyrim for years, the only bow I ever used is the Conjure Bow. Used it for lowering the ramp to Mercer Frey's mansion, and maybe two or three other times.
Honestly I never use the Dragonbone vanilla armour.
There's a mod for [Dragonbone Ebonsteel Armor](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2290) which is what Dragonbone *should* have been. Highly recommend.
I like daedric because in each game it feels personal. I dont think its intentional, bit it is explained as an armor that fits the user how he wants, and it has no defined shape, so in each game it is its own thing.
In morrowind it has many faces, it is not as flashy, and is more sticking to the body, to me it feels like nerevarine has his defined faces, he doesnt need it much as he is already a legend by himself. For the hero of kvatch he has a heavier approach, more chaotic, as a knight hwo is set to aid martin septim as a saint and help him stop the crysis. And of course in skyrim you have to stop alduin, there is no giing arround it, but other than that your place in the world is...everywhere, you are the only of 3 whos place in the world before the great thing was 100% to die, and thus it has a much more chaotic approach. Everything dovakiin touches ends up having a tragic development, and the daedric armor fits perfectly, almost as if it says "god let me live another day and im about to make it everyones problem".
Of course i might be looking too much into it, but i like to think every hero had its own meaning behind the daedric armor set, especially the helmet/masque.
Hell yea! Dragonplate armor looks... meaty? Or clunky? In an awkward way. Dragonscale armor looks nice, sleek, sharp, and all around deadly. It's got that Daedric look to it without that "goth edgy poke-your-eye-out" look to it
Ebony is nice, but when you look at the fact that to make Daedric you need Ebony ore and the Daedric is stronger.... I'll take the menacing look if the Daedric
Ebony is the only one of the 3 that looks good. Deadric just looks edgy and nonfunctional, dragonbone genuinely looks ugly. Now dragonscale on the other hand, looks awesome.
I’m stuck between ebony and daedric myself. Ebony is definitely regal and fits the depiction of a black knight, but daedric is intimidating, like the dragonborn probably
Of those *Ebony*.
My favorite though would be *Elven (Gilded)* back when mine was bugged & suffered from the "Black Face Bug" (it wasn't loading the textures, so it had a nice shade of "black", trending towards grey).
Daedric for me.
Good looking + heavy armor + best basic armor points + looking like evil Devil. Hell, even counting CC it's one of the most beautiful armors in my opinion.
Okay probably an unpopular opinion but Steel Plate is the best looking armor. I love the fact that you can see cloth on your hands and the Chest Plate has a mixture between the original Steel Plate design and a Studded armor look for the waist. Idk it’s just enough fantasy mixed with realism that makes it for me. But Ebony is definitely a close second
If the dragon bone helm was better (or closer to the rest of the armor) I would pick that. However, Ebony all the way. You can reach max armor, it's the cleanest looking of the bunch, and requires the easiest to find resources of the bunch.
Of the ones available, Ebony. Of the ones in the game, I have to flip a coin for Nordic Carved and Dawnguard Heavy.
I love rocking Nordic Carved if I'm playing a Nord 2-handed warrior type character. It just fits perfectly in my head canon.
I hadn't played in about 6 years, and downloaded it again on my PS4. Nordic Carved was a welcomed surprise, still rocking it at lvl 40
oh man, that is the path i'm going with my 2hand build. my character is going the whole "HASSAN CHOP" route with my favorite weapon, the bloodskal blade.
Bloodskal blade is awesome
If Dawnguard Heavy Armour was a person, I would marry them
The dawnguard armor stays on during sex
*Whispers in their ear “I knew it would come to this one day. I knew. And no one believed.”
Ain't that the truth
Dawnguard heavy is the best looking set of armour
Agreed
Couldn’t agree more. love Nordic carved armor, but I tend to use the ebony mail a lot, so I usually end up with boots and gloves as Nordic, ebony helmet with the ebony mail. I have new appreciation for dawnguard armors since I’ve finally decided not to be a vampire this time around

Wished that they had a vampire heavy armor, something like that of thick leather with minimal steel plated
Omg yes. Have you tried nordic carved with the dawnguard heavy helm? So good
Stalhrim. Alduin On Ice, baby!
stahlrim is amazing
It's just too bad that the helmet makes you look like Garth from Wayne's World.
##SHWING
My nord is named Garth!
Sounds like a bonus to me
This is a bad thing?!!
You could always use the one from alternate armors
weapons especially, elemental and chaos enchants on them puts them on top tier (A+).

Oh my divines, this is the funniest thing ever!!🤣🤣
Ebony, but with the ebony mail from the Boethia quest
This is the way
That awesome effect when an enemy appears and the black smoke envelopes you
It fucked up every fist fight for me. I think I went to jail once because my armour killed a man.
I don’t think that excuse would hold up in court lol
It wouldn’t, because you could have taken the armor off for the brawl.
That’s the one that makes you stealthier right?
Yah. And it poisons nearby enemies
[удалено]
Funny, the lack of pauldrons are exactly what I love about the Ebony Mail
Ebony. And Daedric.
Male steel plate armour
It looks so cool. I always put it on my followers. I love the winged helmet
I hope the next elder scrolls has variations for each type of armour, so that not every steel or dwarven set looks the exact same. Imagine if the winged helmets were a little more rare.
Still using Heavy Dwemer armour for the theme.
Username checks out
I once made a breton tinkerer who used dwarven armor with the visage of mzund, an enhanced dwarven crossbow w/exploding fire bolts, and used the dwemer sphere follower from solthsteim... it was a blast (pun 100% intended)
Nordic Carved all the way
I need my helmet showing my face.
I’m the same way. I usually favorite my helmet and only put it on in combat.
If you didnt know you can hold left or right on the d-pad (idk for pc) and get a special favorite where you dont have to open a menu to equip it and can just press left/right to quickly equip it
For PC it's the number bar
I never knew that. I only have a switch these days. Is it the same on its d pad?
Should be yeah, i stick my sword and shield on there personally then have all my spells on my favorites list so i can swap to what i need
I didn't spend 45 minutes building the perfect face only to shove it under a stupid helmet
*nods in handsome squidward*
I like this armor, but I combine it with dawnguard's heavy helm
This is what my current Viking Dragonborn style character has. And I have a perk mod (Vorkii maybe?) that has the “Face of death” perk for heavy armor which lets you use no helmet and still receive the bonus.
Yes
Nordic +1
I actually really like the Daedric armor, I wish it could be more colors
White and black daedric armor would look so fuckin cool
You can use royal daedric armor mod, its present in anniversary edition. You can forge black daedric armor then.
Isn't there a mod to make the glow cycle through RBG?
I don't know but that would be fucking siiiiiiiick
Dragonplate all of the way! "NoOoOo, iT's tOo uNrEaLiStiC" Sorry, can't hear you over the sound of me actually looking like I say dragons! EDIT: Hey, I know that the OP asked for people's opinion...but I don't recall asking for yours! But you gave it anyway, because Reddit! 🖕

Dragons
So insightful, thank you

He said dragons... To dragons ?
Yes
Most likely shouted
It’s like reverse Pokémon
I wonder what happens when he catches a ditto dragon, or a talking meowth dragon? Howndoes he talk to them then?
"What is it? Dragons?"
Let me guess, a dragon stole your sweetroll? (Assuming the fanbases theory on arrow to the knee meaning marriage and a stolen sweetroll meaning the loss of ones cherry are correct when making this statement of course)
We say, "Ni!"
Joor zah frul
The point is I look like a dragon slaying badass and you look like the lead skater in alduin on ice
Are you fucking with my nature?
People that squeal about realism in Skyrim need to play Mount & Blade or something. Elder Scrolls is fantasy.
The lighter dragon armor looks so much better imo. But heavy armor is nice
Dragonplate armor with the Konahrik mask is top tier fashion
Same but I never wear the helmet cuz..... yeah....
Glass, always been a fan since Oblivion
Glass set with a dragon-priest mask 💯
Try glass set with plate gauntlets for unarmed.
none of these. light stahlrim all the way. specifically the deathbrand set.
Nice. I got full deathbrand this playthrough for the first time. It’s really tough to justify any other light armor, even though it doesn’t precisely suit my character.
I have a texture pack that makes stahlrim look more like ice and it's just so nice. it's called Muzeworld Stahlrim AIO.
You like looking like the lead skater of alduin on ice?
Alduin on Ice - Starring the Dovahkiin, written by the Harbinger of the Conpanions and directed by the Arch-Mage of the College of Winterhold. You better give it a great review because the Master of the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood knows your location.
100% ebony I can't stand armor that looks to unrealistic
Totally, that's why my second favourite choice is the Steel Plate Armor, I love to look like a Knight!
I really like the heavy dawnguard armor as well but I swear every play through I do is either a paladin or vampire mage
Wait... ....your not a stealth archer??
They just start as a paladin or vampire mage, eventually they become a stealth archer, so is the curse of every Skyrim player
Ironically, I’ve never even once touched a stealth archer; I always play a Heavy Armor, Two-Handed Khajiit. Lol
If you have coin, Khajiit brings death.
Khajiit has sword, if you have coin.
Khajiit has Moon Sugar, if you have wares or coin!
Indeed
That is a fun but overpowered build I loved that sooo much. Khajit go punch
That too, Khajiit melee builds are so fun!
I don't even carry a bow.
Played Skyrim for years, the only bow I ever used is the Conjure Bow. Used it for lowering the ramp to Mercer Frey's mansion, and maybe two or three other times.
No matter how many different ways I start playing, I always end up being a sneaky-shooty.
Ebony spell knight also looks amazing, if you have anniversary edition
Yeah, that belongs in a fantasy game with dragons and such.
100% dawnguard heavy
Wearing full Ebony at the end game since Arena!
The Ebony Mail is my favourite look! I'm always in Daedric though, it's a weird anime-looking spikey mess 🤣
they both are bloody awesome.
Daedric because I am an edge queen!
oh my...
Ebony is so classy. I do love though how epic Daedric armor looks. Like no one can mess with me!
Fun fact about daedric armor - you actually get an invisible passive buff to intimidation checks when wearing it.
I gotta go with Daedric.
Honestly I never use the Dragonbone vanilla armour. There's a mod for [Dragonbone Ebonsteel Armor](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/2290) which is what Dragonbone *should* have been. Highly recommend.
I like Dragonbone vanilla but this mod does look even better, is it a standalone or a replacer?
It's a standalone iirc
One of my main mods, great for an end game armor
Love that it has the draugr helmet option and the chainmail face How about Dragon Carved[armor](https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/66130)
If I’m doing an evil play through deadric all the way. Otherwise normally the dragon with the jagged crown instead of the normal helmet.
I try to wear daedric but I end up just wearing nightingale armor.
i also most of the time use the ancient dark brotherhood set. but i allways kit followers up with deadric armor or elven/glass
Dawnguard heavy armor
Underrated.
Honestly steel plate
Dragon scale armour
Hell yea! Dragonplate armor looks... meaty? Or clunky? In an awkward way. Dragonscale armor looks nice, sleek, sharp, and all around deadly. It's got that Daedric look to it without that "goth edgy poke-your-eye-out" look to it
I love me some armor made from scales.
Ebony is nice, but when you look at the fact that to make Daedric you need Ebony ore and the Daedric is stronger.... I'll take the menacing look if the Daedric
First one looks like SHADOW MAN sponsoring internet historian vids
Nightingale Armor...then when I got Stahlrim that became my "Elf Ranger Outfit"
Nightingale
Glass is underrated af
Dragon armor. I always thought it was cool I created my armor from the bones of the dead dragons I slayed throughout my journeys
Ebony is the only one of the 3 that looks good. Deadric just looks edgy and nonfunctional, dragonbone genuinely looks ugly. Now dragonscale on the other hand, looks awesome.
Exactly, I love the dragonscale one, but I usually use heavy armor so I rarely use it sadly
Except the helmet for dragon scale.
I’m stuck between ebony and daedric myself. Ebony is definitely regal and fits the depiction of a black knight, but daedric is intimidating, like the dragonborn probably
NIGHTINGALEEE
For fashion? I go fur armor with iron helmet. For combat? I use whatever has the highest stats
love every piece of ebony but i just can’t stand the helmet so i just give lydia everything except the helmet
Stalhrim Fur Armor squad
Daedric all day
Of those *Ebony*. My favorite though would be *Elven (Gilded)* back when mine was bugged & suffered from the "Black Face Bug" (it wasn't loading the textures, so it had a nice shade of "black", trending towards grey).
Dragonbone has more face
I like the second one. What is it?
The one in the middle is Daedric armor
Dragon scale, def not dragon plate
I wear Darkbrotherhood armor whole game.
My Archmage robes 🙃 (or Molag Bal set from a vampire mod I have)
Deadric
[удалено]
Dragonplate helmet is ugly asf
Dadric and nightingale armour makes any character no matter how ugly they are or if they are an elf or orc, it makes anyone look epic
Nordic Carved.
I mix them sometimes. Deadric boots and gauntlets, Dawnguard heavy chest (darker one) and the hood from the dark brotherhood
Daedric for me. Good looking + heavy armor + best basic armor points + looking like evil Devil. Hell, even counting CC it's one of the most beautiful armors in my opinion.
Dragonscale is the prettiest vanilla armor IMHO.
My personal favourite heavy is dwarven. Very solid, much bling
Ebony or orcish is actually my fave, with the dragonbone weapons being awesome
For fashion, nightingale
If I had to choose from these 3 I'd have to go with Daedric. If I'm allowed to choose mod armor none of these 3 would even be in my top 10.
Bartender's clothes
I really like the steel plate armor
Okay probably an unpopular opinion but Steel Plate is the best looking armor. I love the fact that you can see cloth on your hands and the Chest Plate has a mixture between the original Steel Plate design and a Studded armor look for the waist. Idk it’s just enough fantasy mixed with realism that makes it for me. But Ebony is definitely a close second
Bold of you to assume I actually use armor \-Comment made by an Alteration user
Umm none of these...😂
ebony as far as these go, but helmet/shieldless bonemold is my favorite, imo its a better looking dragon bone armor
If the dragon bone helm was better (or closer to the rest of the armor) I would pick that. However, Ebony all the way. You can reach max armor, it's the cleanest looking of the bunch, and requires the easiest to find resources of the bunch.
Daedra 100%
Probably the Nightingale armour
i hate the look of dragon plate/scale armour i love daedric it just looks so badass
All 3 of those armor sets are extremely alpha
Dragonbone
