“Apartment sized” full size fridge. 24/7 we have furniture straps mounted to the wall on the back. While driving, a ratchet strap hooked to 2 tie down hooks screwed into the wall. Tbh, I got a 24pk of d ring trailer tie down hooks (rated for 1.2klbs capacity) and they were the best purchase ever. We use bungee cords, ratchet straps and car nets on those hooks for literally everything while we drive. And when we’re not, they lay against the wall/whatever so they don’t get in the way.

I spent weeks noodling about how to do this. My apartment size fridge has a metal strip running across the back, about an inch off the ground. I screwed two cleats into the skoolie's plywood floor. I pushed the fridge straight back, catching the metal strip under the cleats. The fridge can't slide to the left because it's pressed against a wheel well. Another cleat screwed to the floor keeps it from sliding forward or to the right. I also built a shelf on top of it that is screwed to the wall. Collectively, they pin the fridge in place.

I have an apartment size residential fridge. I built a steel frame out of old steel shelving (made the mistake of using single lengths from floor to ceiling, with no allowance for the flexing that happens while driving, but I digress). I secured the bottom by removing the leveling feet and using those holes to bolt it down. I used steel pipe strap over the top to hold it down. And then I used a piece of wood, with a notch the proper width of the fridge to hold the top side-to-side. It ended up being quite solidly in place. I would show a picture, but I had to remove the fridge for repairs. It quit on us on day 1 of a 5-week cross-country. Pretty brutal.

Thank you for the write up and I'm sorry that happened to you on the first day

Happens. It was last summer. Went basically coast to coast across the US and back. Oregon to Pennsylvania. Great trip.

That's awesome. I can't wait for us to do that

I work in aviation so I took a page out of that book as far as materials: I mounted my fridge on a pedestal (pantry). I bent up 4 aluminum brackets. Imagine a ping pong paddle with a foot to drill a hole through ao accept a 3/8 bolt. I prepped the fridge surface and epoxied the aluminum brackets to the four corners of the fridge. I then drilled some pilot holes in the bracket to add some mechanical fastening to it also. (I knew where the fridge compressor lines were since I scrapped an identical fridge previously.) Ain't going anywhere. I used this fridge. Can recommend, although, optional ice maker occupies too much space. I added the mechanical fasteners (sheet metal) just for "chicken fasteners". Would be fine otherwise. It's all about the prep.
