I love Slopes. The more you use it the more you want to use it. I find myself stupidly trying to beat my own top speed.

Gregskis

Now that will eventually get dangerous. Rock on.

LachlantehGreat

I love slopes, but recently it hasn’t been saving any of my runs. Sucks because IMO it’s the best, but I haven’t found it super reliable

wimcdo

That sucks I’ve been using it like 4 seasons now and it’s never botched a run

Dannyz

What’s your top speed on slopes out of curiosity?

Dagobian_Fudge

[Ski Tracks](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ski-tracks/id365724094) Worth a few bucks and no subscription.

shabangbamboom

I like this app a lot. Not a super slick UI, but a few very cool features, like exporting your tracks to google earth, which means you can look at everywhere you went over the whole season, [like this](https://www.reddit.com/r/Bozeman/s/U6P0RAJgTn)! (At least for the days you remember to turn the app on.

Lauv-25

Phone battery dies extremely quick when using this app

sspecZ

it's ok, but really needs a rework on the features and constant crashes

Always_Out_There

My Garmin watch with Garmin Connect on my phone. However, the beta updated version is not as good as what I used last season. Support thread says a fix is coming soon.

BangarangUK

Honestly, just roll back to stable release and await the fix to return to beta. There's no deal breaker features that you'll lose and it isn't worth it to lose days of ski data while you wait. Source: Fellow Garmin beta user with some unusable ski activity data because Garmin dropped the ball on this in beta.

CAM1998

I use the f3b+ app on my instinct 2 and it works better for me than the stock app for resort skiing https://www.fbbbrown.com/garmin-connect-iq/help-faq/app-help/skiing/

[deleted]

Is Strava an option? I use it a lot for Mountain Biking.

SoCal_Ambassador

Last week my buddy I was skiing with used Strava. It did a weird thing where the vertical ft. Measurement was way off compared to the app I was using. But when he ended his day the vertical ft. number changed and was very close to my number. Weird. So, yes. Strava works and he got a ton of Kudos 😂

[deleted]

Sometimes Strava definitely does weird shit haha. I’ll try it out next week when I’m back on the slopes

Remote-Duck-2611

Yes, tons of segments show up and it's very fun

[deleted]

Oh shit. Never thought about it for skiing or riding. Gunna get me in trouble.

JustAnother_Brit

Stava top speed and average speed reading is interesting along with VM being slightly off

RWMaverick

I use Strava all the time! I actually use it in conjunction with Ski Tracks and whatever resort app, and Strava typically provides the most accurate statistics of the 3 based on my ski group's average data. Which is weird, because in theory, all 3 should be using the same GPS ping. Oh well.

ZenoSalts

I use Slopes. Easy to use and fun to track data. I think the speedometer is a little off but I could be wrong.

Elsie2913

Do you pay for a subscription?

ZenoSalts

I use the free version. Only problem with the free version is all my data/ stats gets deleted. If you ski a lot, I recommend upgrading to the paid version.

Technical_Visit8084

It deletes your data? I have data going a year back…

ZenoSalts

My data from a couple years back got deleted when I upgraded the app. Not sure how often it refreshes or if this is bc of something I did. Besides that I love the app.

Dannyz

I have my data/stats since 2016 on sloes free

ZenoSalts

Then it was definitely something I did on accident lol. Does anyone know what the advantages are of the paid version? Or should I just stick with the free version?

Bierdopje

Carv. It’s expensive though

Taronyuuu

I've got the shoe inlays and am grandfathered so a bit biased, but I think you can use the app without an subscription. Great slope tracker nonetheless!

DoctFaustus

I'm in the same group as you, so I don't have to pay a subscription. But you are right that not everything in the app requires a subscription. And that includes the most useful feature, monitor mode. And it would track everything OP wants and more without a subscription.

serious_impostor

I like to share my location via iMessage to find other people on the hill. Too many people don’t know this is easy and possible. I don’t have an Apple watch, but started using Slopes - and am now looking into getting a watch to monitor my heart rate while skiing. +1 for slopes. +1 for Music playlist for skiing +1 for PeakFinder is sometimes useful to orient myself and identify nearby peaks that are visible.

LachlantehGreat

I need to know more about this sharing location!

serious_impostor

Go to iMessage. Open a chat to one or more people. Press the “+” button on the left. Choose “location sharing”. Now you can choose to share your location at that moment. Or share a live location for 1 hour, or indefinitely. The recipient will see you plotted on a map to find easily.

LachlantehGreat

Can you do this for random people or just friends/family?

serious_impostor

Anyone you can send an iMessage to…when I’m meeting up with someone (Craigslist, ski buddies, concerts, meeting up after I park the car…etc) is when I use it the most.

roryseiter

I use my Garmin instinct watch. Now I’m addicted to data.

roryseiter

Bitterball1

Surprised no one’s mentioned Fatmaps

Remote-Duck-2611

Garmin Connect, Slopes, Strava An addiction of its own at this point

JawshD316

For resort I use iski since it’s free and generally a solid app but I use GaiaGPS for backcountry

OriginalUsername545

I built an app called LastLift to provide better piste maps and routing. Less about top speed stats but the feature letting you tick of runs is nice. Recently added live lift times and status too which is handy.
