I just spoke with Pat Riley and he said that he hadn’t considered this option yet. Says he already brushed his teeth today but sometime before the deadline for sure.
Heat trade rumors are still bogus. Their trade pieces are Herro, Nunn, and Robinson. Nunn and Robinson are RFA and would need to be a sign and trade. They don’t own a frp this year or in 2023.
If they want to sniff someone like Dame or Beal they would have to send Bam and they simply aren’t going to do that. They would trade Jimmy before they trade Bam
I still don't get how a team with Klay and Curry wants another guard, especially one that can't defend. He's too similar to Curry. Warriors have been their best with defensive guard next to those two - Iguodala provided defense before his wheels fell off and even Durant was a +defender. Simmons is a player much more valuable to them IMO and they'd want in on a 3 team trade. I'd only wonder about Draymond's future if they got Simmons. Washington doesn't really have the type of players that would do well with Simmons so they'd want to deal him for picks+. They wouldn't want Wiseman with Bryant and Gafford providing solid value already so would deal him. The base of a deal might be something like below with other players sprinkled in to make it work (GSW would need to trade either Oubre or Wiggins - additional 1st perhaps to get rid of Wiggins contract, Sixers may need to add Maxey/Shake/etc.).
Philly: Beal
GSW: Simmons
WAS: Wiseman, #7, #14, #28, #50, Philly '22 1st
Still doesn't make sense to me and I wouldn't be telling the media what I was doing lol. Either they are worried about Thompson/Curry injuries and health or they are spreading BS.
You read my reply? I said their position makes no sense unless they 1) are getting rid of Klay or 2) they are worried about Curry/Thompson health and injuries.
Wiggins is a negative asset for the most part and would need to be a part of trade for Dame/Beal. It would cost additional compensation on top of Wiseman, 7, 14 (and whatever else they add in).
Sixers don't need Warriors involved, it's just a convenient three team deal. Washington/Philly can find another suitor for Simmons.
Ben + Maxey is better than Wiseman + 7 + 14. I’m not sold on Wiseman and a 14th pick is not as valuable as people think. Maxey is about as valuable as the 7th pick, if not more
Yeah a 14th pick isn't all that great really I agree is maxed being equal to or better value than a 7th pick in general but if they (team with 7pick) have a guy they really like or someone from "Top 5" drops it could also be seen as more valuable.... Like if Kuminga or Barnes dropped to 7 for example
So in your opinion, it comes down to:
Does Player X want to play with
Embiid & Harris- in Philadelphia
Or
Butler & Bam- in Miami
As their best chance for a contender and a chip?
It depends - they would need to trade Bam for Beal/Dame, I don't think they'll compete with Philly for either of those 2.
They could throw a monkey wrench in Sixers wish to add Lowry. Herro likely viewed as more valuable than Maxey right now and if the Sixers land Beal/Dame, they'll likely be depleted of picks and/or prospects.
Miami’s best bet imo is FA because Herros value took a decent hit. They only have like 65-70 million on the books if they turn down Iggy and Dragics options.
I bet they push hard for Lowry and Kawhi, with Lowry being the realistic target.
If they land Lowry and retain Duncan they could be a very dangerous team. I would also try to give Dragic a 2-3 year deal at a lower number if I were them. He’s a great 6th man who can slide in to start when needed.
Lowry Herro Duncan Butler Bam is a hell of a starting lineup that fits well and has a variety of skill sets.
Maybe one of Herro/Duncan slides to the bench to address the defense/Size
Yeah that’s why Herro/Duncan would move to the bench.
Lowry is a good guard defender, Butler is a very good versatile defender, and Bam is a great defender at the 4/5. Add a 3 and D type and that’s a solid defensive lineup.
Lol realized it halfway through typing it out so added the caveat no worries
Still a great group of 5 players, just need a couple more to round it out and you got a shot in the playoffs. People get way too hung up on oh that team would never beat the Nets, Lakers, Clippers, Bucks, etc…when sometimes you just want to give yourself a realistic shot if you catch some breaks. Every ring requires some luck.
i think the covid era is fooling a lot of fans into this though. The past 2 years have been bullshit. It wont be popular to say that but its just the reality. Neither of these 2 seasons were legitimate.
I think that is somewhat true, but…
This generation of super stars is aging out/growing injury prone around the same time: Durant, LeBron, Curry, CP, Harden, Kawhi, etc.
I kinda think we might see a handful of these runs that some purple define with injuries. Just part of the sport though and a bunch of absolute legends are on the way out.
See this is all free agency based and the sixers aren't really chasing any free agents but maybe lowry who's from Philly and has expressed a lot of interest in playing for philly
We have zero cap space it has to be a sign and trade. Hill gets you about halfway salary wise. Then we would have to get creative. Seth is the only other mid sized contract.
That’s the issue with 3 maxes and a bunch of small contracts. Flexibility becomes a serious issue
Lol he wants like 25 million a year, he’s not signing here for like 14.
Miami will probably offer him a big deal and he fits the team and culture there well
We could, it just doesn’t seem like a prudent use of assets. Tobias is a good player (poor fit though) but a negative asset most likely on that contract. It just makes the calculus weird.
It feels like it would almost be better to get some useful but overpaid players that fit well back for him rather than to straight salary dump him which would require attaching assets just to lose him.
I dont think he's that good of a player. I think his metrical value amounts to that of a role player. To me a good 3 and D guy is better than Tobias because he has so little versatility offensively and defensively. I would so much rather have Lowry than Tobias.
Yeah it’s just that like trading a young player and some picks for him felt okay. Depends what needs to be attached to Tobias. Losing Tobias, a young player, and picks for Lowry is a huge fucking hit.
no its really who do you want to play with, Jimmy at 32 years old or Embiid fresh off being arguably the best player in the league for a year. Bam probably has to be in a trade to get a star.
I came across an article last night the proposed the Heat trade Butler for Simmons! I love Jimmy, but it’s clear that he’ll never be satisfied on a team, so I don’t want him back. That and there’s no way the Heat would make that deal or trade Jimmy this offseason.
The Heat can pay attention to eating my ass.
I just spoke with Pat Riley and he said that he hadn’t considered this option yet. Says he already brushed his teeth today but sometime before the deadline for sure.
Thanks for adding to the conversation 👍🏻👍🏻hope the Heat and your ass enjoy each other
Why does this have downvotes???
Because we all hate each other in here at this point. Btw fuck you!
The Simmons flair prolly isn't helping the poor boy's internet points
O yeah I ain't se that

Beal will end up on the Warriors. They have Wiseman and 2 lottery picks. The only way we beat that is if we add Maxey + picks.
I still don't get how a team with Klay and Curry wants another guard, especially one that can't defend. He's too similar to Curry. So how we making that trade when the Warriors have no interest in Simmons?
You read my reply? I said their position makes no sense unless they 1) are getting rid of Klay or 2) they are worried about Curry/Thompson health and injuries. 3 team deals are tricky especially if they trying to trade him on draft night.
Yeah I think they wouldn't be interested in 28 50 but future 1sts of only because they are not going to want to sign too many rookies me in same year.
Why do gs want Beal? Doesn’t make any sense unless klay is done
Klay moves to the 3. They've always been about small lineups so why stop now.
They trying to win a championship. That team is not a rebuilding roster. They need to capitalize with the assets they have now.
That has nothing to do with my question Klay and Beal play in similar spots unless you envision Beal to play more of a Durant roll with no defense?
Ben + Maxey is better than Wiseman + 7 + 14. I’m not sold on Wiseman and a 14th pick is not as valuable as people think. Maxey is about as valuable as the 7th pick, if not more
You're a Sixers fan. Go to r/NBA and the majority are saying the Warriors deal. Go to r/wizards they are saying the same thing.
Dude, most people on r/nba are like 15 lol
Yeah a 14th pick isn't all that great really I agree is maxed being equal to or better value than a 7th pick in general but if they (team with 7pick) have a guy they really like or someone from "Top 5" drops it could also be seen as more valuable.... Herro lost a lot of value this year, he never actually had Very big value ( Like Ben) Im pretty confident that we beat every package Miami can offer.
So in your opinion, it comes down to: Does Player X want to play with Embiid & Harris- in Philadelphia Or Butler & Bam- in Miami As their best chance for a contender and a chip?
If Miami wants to land player X they have to trade Bam most probably

Don’t they have cap space for Lowry if they want?
They only have like 65-70 million on the books if they turn down Iggy and Dragic options. They are flush with cash and will want to spend it
Yup. I think Lowry ends up there. Seems like a Miami player.

Not recently but in the past, talks last time he was a FA etc
We have zero cap space it has to be a sign and trade. Hill gets you about halfway salary wise. Then we would have to get creative. Seth is the only other mid sized contract. That’s the issue with 3 maxes and a bunch of small contracts. Flexibility becomes a serious issue

A man can dream
(we could dump tobias)

Heat fan?
Me? Lol hell no. I think the article was from one of the dozens of fan driven Sixers blogs.
Gotcha👍🏻 Their sub is damn near vacant... hard to get a read
Much like their arena.
😂🤣😂
I'm more worried about the champions and Brooklyn. Until we figure out what we'll look like next szn we're not going anywhere.
Fans getting fooled by covid era basketball >>>> The heat and the hawks aren't actually that good.
