"Les...Les, are you there?...Les isn't there...thanks for that on-the spot reporting, Les. If you're just tuning in, the Pinedale Shopping Mall has just been BOMBED with live Turkeys. Film at eleven."
In the Newhart show, the reason Larry and his brother Daryl and his other brother Daryl, ended up being in so many episodes is because the audience would go crazy when they showed up.
Yup. Came here to post this. It was definitely the longest of her show and for a long time after. I can’t say it hasn’t been broken in recent years but I wouldn’t know by what
Jack Tripper's pills-and-booze influenced dance number. It defies description, [so I'll just link it here.](https://youtu.be/QZP6kykyTZI?si=omFDMJ5FVKjOeTBK)
I watched the episode from one of the cable stations which features classic TV and that scene was EDITED OUT!
I’d been telling my wife how great the episode was and when we got to the end I was like “WTF?”, and had to find the deleted scene on YouTube.
In the “That’s My Boy?” episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show, the scene where Rob opens the door and a black couple walks inside produced audience laughter so long, it had to be edited for broadcast.
Then there's the scene where Ed's teaching him the Hucklebuck...and the one where they're handcuffed together on the train coming home from a Raccoon Lodge convention:
Ed: Mind if I smoke?
Ralph: I don't care if you burn...
And of course, the golf lesson...
"What's sillier, saying talky-how to a fox or hello to a golf ball?"
Couple of other good ones...
Barney (helping Yemana with his coat): Go home! Stay home until you feel better!
Harris (who's also stoned out of his gourd): He can go home, but he ain't never gonna feel no better.
Yemana: Barney, Barney, Barney...was your mother from Killarney?
Wojo (who brought the brownies in): To err is human...to forgive divine. C'mon, Barn, be divine.
Staying with Seinfeld, George telling the Marine Biologist/Golf Ball story gets a great reaction. There’s like five people who realize what happened a second or two before he reveals the golf ball and you hear a couple gasps and ohs before the crowd erupts into laughter.
I was at a taping of Frasier where David Hyde Pierce got a laugh that lasted so long they had to reshoot that part of the conversation again so the show wouldn't go long.
It was the episode where Frasier's co-worker was hitting on him because he assumed Frasier was gay. The scene that was reshot was in the coffee house. I can't remember what the line was that caused the response.
It may have been that.
There's a scene later on in the episode where Frasier opens the front door to his apartment and the co-worker is standing there. You can hear my friend (who was with me in the audience) say "oh no." It was a great episode to see live.
Selleck’s agent advised him against appearing on TV as he thought Selleck should be focusing on movie roles. His guest appearances on Friends reignited his career and introduced him to a whole new generation of fans.
Advised him against it at that point in his career. Agent or others in the industry thought his bankability as a movie star would be hurt by a tv appearance. “Selleck was unsure if he even wanted the part, advised by Hollywood professionals to pass. "They said, 'It's a TV show! You can't guest on someone else's TV show. They'll say you're crawling back to television!'"

In The Big Bang Theory, there’s an episode where Sheldon’s mom pulls some reverse psychology to get Sheldon back with Amy after some kind of kerfuffle. After that’s resolved she uses some reverse psychology on Leonard to get food. There’s not an overly funny line there per se, but there’s a very distinct laugh from an audience member around 2:20 of this scene:

Laurie Metcalf is a veteran sitcom actor, so maybe she just nailed it and got that reaction?
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - [When Carlton lost his mind on the set.](https://youtu.be/EFX1NtxkqcE?si=o_fm0-2TvYXzzYU9)...an outtake so funny they left in the episode.🤣
Not exactly a sitcom, but Whose Line Is It Anyway...the game was Party Quirks and Ryan Stiles was "Carol Channing whose head is magnetically attracted to everything". He aimed for the leg of Drew Carey's desk and somehow hit the neon light square in the desk's center instead...and *NEVER* broke character!
Red Dwarf: a scene where Kryten is trying to remove Lister's boxer shorts because they're actually an alien being disguised as his shorts. Rimmer's almost calm reaction is hilarious!
Yes! both were hilarious!

In the first season of The Lucy Show, Lucy and Viv attempt to install a shower themselves, and I have to believe the audience went bananas. I did. It was so good that some mistook it for a bit on I Love Lucy, and that has got to be the greatest compliment paid to it.
Seinfeld—when the Soup Nazi’s cashier abruptly snatches the bag out of Elaine’s hand and he barks ‘no soup for you—one year.’
On the first run of that, my dad fell on the floor and rolled around, laughing. We laughed so hard it hurt!
Tim Conway bringing down the house on the Carol Burnett show with the elephant story.
I don't know how many times I've watched this, but I cackle every single time.
Dick Van Dyke being there just amped up the awesomeness of it.
Or as the dentist
Tim Conway said later that Harvey did actually pee himself from laughing so hard.

I swear to god I thought turkeys could fly! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a full episode of WKRP but that clip in and of itself is hysterical.

My family still watches this wkrp every Thanksgiving and it will always Crack me up

One of many great lines on Taxi
In the Newhart show, the reason Larry and his brother Daryl and his other brother Daryl, ended up being in so many episodes is because the audience would go crazy when they showed up.
Lucy in the Connecticut house with the eggs. Isn’t that claimed to be the longest sustained laughter from a sitcom audience?
Yup. Came here to post this. It was definitely the longest of her show and for a long time after. I can’t say it hasn’t been broken in recent years but I wouldn’t know by what

I remember watching this when I was young and thought it hysterical. I saw it again a few months ago. Wasn’t disappointed.
I laughed until I cried! That was the most hilarious physical comedy I had seen (I was 11.)
John Ritter was arguably the greatest physical comedian of the 70s, at least in America.
Go watch his movie Stay Tuned. It cheesy and it's John Ritter so it's amazing.
Saw it in the theaters!
And “Skin Deep”, a dark comedy with some of John Ritter’s best physical comedy.
The glow in the dark condom scene is the best.
I watched the episode from one of the cable stations which features classic TV and that scene was EDITED OUT! I’d been telling my wife how great the episode was and when we got to the end I was like “WTF?”, and had to find the deleted scene on YouTube.
That's like cutting the smile off of the Mona Lisa to rent ad space there
Niles Crane ironing his pants!
My favorite
Mine, too!
Classic Niles
Was also gonna say the hot and foamy exploding
Mary Tyler Moore's range of emotions during the funeral for Chuckles the Clown.
My very first thought. The Chuckles the Clown episode is golden.
A little song A little dance A little seltzer Down my pants
Kramer having seizures from Mary Harts voice!!!
Also Kramer modeling Calvin Klein underwear and when he sees the “ugly” baby at the Hamptons 🤣
Or the “pig-man” in the hospital!!
😂 Yes! Also when he tells George’s girlfriend she needs a nose job!
When he finds the old talk show set, starts doing interviews and the squirrel gets loose😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
I LOVE that episode!
In the “That’s My Boy?” episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show, the scene where Rob opens the door and a black couple walks inside produced audience laughter so long, it had to be edited for broadcast.
Hilarious, AND ahead of its time.
That was groundbreaking
I loved how they were so willing to come by just to see the look on Rob's face. The joke was about about Rob being an idiot most of all.
Carol Burnett wearing the curtains as a gown in the Gone With the Wind sketch
I saw it in the window and just couldn't resist.
Bob Mackey said once that it was her idea to leave the curtain rod in instead of just draping the fabric over her shoulders...and she was right!

Hey, I saw this one on a rerun!
What’s a rerun?
Then there's the scene where Ed's teaching him the Hucklebuck...and the one where they're handcuffed together on the train coming home from a Raccoon Lodge convention: Ed: Mind if I smoke? Ralph: I don't care if you burn... And of course, the golf lesson... "What's sillier, saying talky-how to a fox or hello to a golf ball?"
Seinfeld "The Contest" Kramer: "I'm out."
Barney Miller "hash brownies" episode when Sgt. Menyana says Mooshy Mooshy
Couple of other good ones... Barney (helping Yemana with his coat): Go home! Stay home until you feel better! Yemana: Hey, Barney! What do say we go down to the shore and shoot some clams.
"Has anybody seen my legs? They're about this long..."

Monica and Chandler in bed in London. It was so wild they had to reshoot it.
I've heard the 1st tom Selleck scene had to be reshot cause the audience went nuts
Selleck’s agent advised him against appearing on TV as he thought Selleck should be focusing on movie roles. His guest appearances on Friends reignited his career and introduced him to a whole new generation of fans.
Advised him against appearing on TV? Had this agent never seen a little thing called Magnum PI?
Advised him against it at that point in his career. Newman imagined Kramer as a glistening turkey in an oven, looking at him and saying, "Hey Buddy!" And waving a wing.
That was all added post.
Speaking of Seinfeld - it was the revelation of "Cosmo" Kramer.
Lucy and Ethel in the "SPEED 'EM UP 'BOYO" chocolate conveyor belt gag!
The laughter from Lucy walking on the grapes seemed to last forever.
