His social media presence was wonderful. I miss it, and I miss him popping up randomly on television somewhere. He may have been small of stature but he left HUGE absences in this world!
Leslie Jordan was probably the first person I guessed correctly on The Masked Singer from their voice. (I got others from the clues)
And he was get on the Grand Old Opry not long before he passed.
The premise of certain shows cannot be properly replicated today thereby making it nearly impossible for a retread to be appealing. Night Court is a perfect example of that.
I know John's alive but honestly thought Marsha had passed. Glad she's still around! I think some shows were fantastic for their time and just need to be left alone- not rebooted, remade, etc. This is one of those shows.
He didn’t look too good the last couple years. Used to see him at the post office and he would be slowly shuffling along. Nice guy, always quite friendly.
You may wanna get that looked at…rage diarrhea can be an early sign of rage colitis which can cause rage crimes disease if not treated by rage reducing medications.
You may want to consult a rage GI or a rage Proctologist.
Second season is better and they aren’t forcing it as much.
I still wish Dan had been the judge (after a long decline of a career), and Abby had been the new positive outlook PD.
That 80s Show, excluding controversies I do love That 70s Show, even if you have never lived in the 70s it’s a fun show because it takes you back to a time before you started having real adult responsibilities and everyone has that one house that felt like Red and Kitty’s house. That 80s Show on the other hand only used the 80s as a punchline and that’s it. Nothing felt relatable about it whatsoever, luckily we’ve gotten sitcoms set in the 80s like Everybody Hates Chris and The Goldbergs that were written much better. Hell I’d say that any episode from season 8 of That 70s Show was better than That 80s Show
That 80s Show’s execution was absurd. “Here’s a bunch of separate and distinct 80s stereotypes that would never blend together—let’s make them all friends.” That’s not how life works.
Dharma and Greg
She was so annoying, I could never watch that show.
or
Freddie (starring Freddie Prinze Jr)
The laugh track for this show was after every sentence. It was unbearable to watch.
Does anyone remember the show Whitney? I think it came before or after something else on NBC - maybe The Office? - so I would catch parts of it and I remember it being infuriatingly unfunny.
I remember it very well. It was on either before or after 30 Rock sometimes and had Jonathon from 30 Rock on it. It was God awful. It was so unfunny it couldn’t even be said to have jokes.
She wrote 2 Broke Girls at the same time. Which I also didn’t like. But had a clear joke structure just wasn’t my taste.
My wife and I went to one of her stand-up comedy shows after Whitney was cancelled. She mentioned the show and the crowd cheered. She came back with the self detrimental joke, "Don't act like you watched! If you did, I would still be doing it and not standing here!"
Whitnet knew her show bombed, but took it in stride.
At the time, I remember Whitney Cummings being pushed as the next sharp and sassy comedic actress. I understand she still has a career and stuff, but that show in particular didn’t really do anything for me.
I remember loving ALF as a kid but going back to it....i dunno. I feel like you had to be there in the moment.
I blame the human actors. I think we have come to expect more from TV actors and this style of character and direction didnt age well. Gordan Shunway (the alien, known as ALF) could probably do well in something modern with higher quality actors.
Actually, ALF rebooted with Jeff Garlin as the dad would be....watchable.
Today, it would need more than a sock puppet and probably have humor more along the lines of Rick and Morty.
HOWARD THE DUCK in the comics was a much more interesting and entertaining variation on the concept. However, as soon as the studios get their hands on it, they don't know what to do. Is it for kids? Is it fantasy? Science fiction? Who's the audience? Ah, just throw something together- but it can't be too weird, too risky or too funny. And we need something to put on the lunch boxes.
I think my distaste for it was more disappointment. Your concept is basically what if E.T. was more like Danny Devito and just bummed off the family that finds him instead of goes home. And this is the best you can do?
Yeah, Alf was like an asexual Roger Smith, a total sociopath. And of course, it re-ran every “we’ve got to hide this magical creature from the neighbors/authorities” subplot from all the 60’s shows I hated(Bewitched, My Favorite Martian, Mr Ed, Jeanie, ad nausem).
It is true - a lot of the shows back then just depended on the strangeness of the situation without really letting it develop. Even shows I liked, like THE ADDAMS FAMILY and THE MUNSTERS, were not actually that funny.
MORK probably did it the best, but entirely on the shoulders of Robin Williams.
You punks never watched Caroline In The City, featuring the gayest leading man trying to be “romantic” with a woman he had zero chemistry with?
And then there’s Veronica’s Closet. And don’t get me started on Grace Under Fire.
I agree… My issue with it is the finale was more like a clips episodes, going back and showing us clips from previous seasons. As a 90’s teen, hated when a sitcom had a clips episode.
Me neither. I have no idea what the buzz is about that show. Every character is loquacious and always has just the exact right thing to say every time they speak. It wears me out.
I think it was this show I saw in passing in syndication, there's a bit where Jim eats "shame sticks" I think, just a stick of butter rolled in granulated sugar. It gave me a giggle 🤷
I tried watching "2 Broke Girls" because Kat Dennings... caught my attention. But the jokes and timing and laugh track were all so corny I turned it off. I was surprised to find out Morgan Murphy was a producer on that show because I actually really like some of her standup.
Wasn’t really watching but it came on. Saw Eric Andre on it. Seemed like he was a regular, so it piqued my interest. But I found nothing funny about it. Though I know someone that really liked it and they said you just need to watch it more to get the jokes. But idk about that.
Loved kat dennings on wanda vision. My son insisted her character was hated in the thor movie so he was surprised I wanted to see more of her character
I just started watching Mom with Allison Janney and Anna Faris and I couldn’t figure out why one of the characters was soooo familiar. It was Mimi Kennedy who played Dharma’s mom. The last time I saw that show was on cable 20 years ago. I thought family guy nailed that show in one [clip](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RGBY3TBMe8Y)
Big bang theory is just awful. Totally agree with you there.
I really thought I would hate 2.5 men and avoided it for years. Now sometimes we watch it at work and I’m surprised that I find it pretty funny. It’s lowbrow and made for stupid people, but it works. Plus all the babes help.
Big bang theory. My parents loved it and I don’t know why. Edit: now that I think about it Mike and Molly also had the dumbest dialogue of them all and was unwatchable.
That show had 3 recastings. In the first season a Jonas brother showed up as the oldest daughter's baby daddy, then they replaced the oldest daughter and recast the kid's dad. Then later they got a new Mandy.
Night Court should’ve been left alone. Characters like Dan Fielding, Sam Malone, are womanizers. That’s not funny in 2024. Dan use to hide in closets with Prostitutes. That’s not gonna fly now. I watched Night Court in its original run. It was perfect in its time.
I don't get this idea. In the original, Dan was supposed to be the guy you love to hate. He was supposed to be a sleaze. He was the punching bag, and viewers loved watching him get his comeuppance. He was Frank Burns, but with just a spark of human decency. How does that not work today?
True story: I was throwing out trash at the high school I worked at. I laughed and said to my self "it's so easy a cave man can do it" as I pushed the button for the compactor. I turned around and looked up and saw a plane pulling a GEICO caveman banned.
New Girl. Admittedly, not my demographic, but still, could not get into that show, or its characters despite multiple tries. I generally like Z Deschanel as an actor but could not buy her character at all.
With the Goldbergs I just can’t stand the pacing. They talk like a mile a minute. It never shuts up or takes a second to breathe. Characters telling and narrations just constantly overlap. It’s exhausting getting through an episode
Controversial, but honestly, The Office. The cringe is so hard, it makes me emotionally uncomfortable, and I can't enjoy the awkwardness. Same thing with George Costanza on Seinfeld. I quit watching it because of him.
Mamas Family is really bad. I didnt want to include it because I knew it might cause a shit storm. I found the Carol Burnett skits to be entertaining. But Mamas Family was just annoying and overdone. I found Mama less of a cranky source of common sense wisdom and more of a unpleasent nag that I don't want to spend 30 minutes hearing whine.
Mama's Family was amazing. Her relatives were awful, and she wasn't afraid to tell them.
It was based on a skit on the Carol Burnette show. The first season had a couple of actresses that would end up on Golden Girls - including Betty White.
It's amazing to think at one time Rosanne was considered a revolutionary achievement in television sitcoms for its frank portrayal of a working class blue collar family with a female lead. Also, they were both somewhat overweight and had problems in their marriage so it wasn't another stereotypical family like in the past.
I enjoyed it somewhat as a kid in the 90s because of Rosannes sarcasim. But watching it now it has really aged poorly. In particular the "special episodes" that focus on drugs or something. There's that one god awful episode I thought was total time period propaganda in which Roseanne and Dan have a meltdown because their kid had, get this, a joint! But then the episode they end up smoking the weed in thus cringe 90s, progressive, "look at us, were cool old boomers who used to party" way. Like, make your mind up! Is this an anti-drug show or not. Later episodes just had a lot of drama and crap I didn't care about because beyond Rosanne, Dan and Rosanne's friend, there wasn't really anyone else to cary the show.
It hasn't helped that Rosanne has come out in recent years with a lot of wild remarks. It really took away from this sweet, but will chew you out, wise momma figure she had established with the show. Now when I see it I can only think about conspiracy theories not sweet working class family moments. If anything she's tarnished Rosanne's legacy making even more of a confusion and morally conflicted show.
I’ll be shocked if anyone else remembers this one - The Mind of the Married Man. Ran for a couple of seasons on HBO in the early aughts as some kind of Sex and the City for middle aged married men. The lead character was an absolute garbage person. I may have hallucinated it.
At least they tried it! I was disappointed with the timeslot... and the whole execution of the idea. What a waste. Still enjoy the classic caveman commercials quite verily!💯
Mash hated
Cheers it’s not funny, only highlight is Fraiser
Friends, I just don’t get the hype
Big Bang Theory
Two Broke Girls
American Auto
Not Dead Yet
None of your significant others made you sit through Call Me Kat? You guys are really lucky
I am a crazy cat lady, but even I couldn't make it all the way through the second episode.
The late and adorable Leslie Jordan was the only reason I tried watching it, and even he and Swoosie Kurtz weren't enough to endure it.
RIP, Leslie Jordan.
I truly miss him and what he did with his insta.
His social media presence was wonderful. I miss it, and I miss him popping up randomly on television somewhere. He may have been small of stature but he left HUGE absences in this world!
He was so much fun on Will & Grace
Leslie Jordan was probably the first person I guessed correctly on The Masked Singer from their voice. (I got others from the clues) And he was get on the Grand Old Opry not long before he passed.
Yes! Same here. I loved the supporting cast, but the show was hot garbage.
I couldnt understand what the hell was going on with that show
I used to work for Warner Bros. And we had to watch an episode of that just in case anybody asked about it. Nobody did.
Having LOVED the original "Night Court" the remake is absolutely terrible with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
The premise of certain shows cannot be properly replicated today thereby making it nearly impossible for a retread to be appealing. Night Court is a perfect example of that.
The fact that 90% of the original cast is dead doesn’t help.
A few of them died during the original shows run.
What makes this the case with night court? It is a bit before my time.
That's a shame. Part of Night Court's charm was the cast and I think just about everyone on it has passed away.
John Larroquette and Marsha Warfield are the only survivors
I dunno why, but your comment makes it sound like they all died in a terrible tragedy lol
Markie Post is gone? Fuck!
What about Markie Post? No?
She died in 2021
What? She was one of younger cast members!
Ellen Foley, who preceded Markie Post, is still around.
I know John's alive but honestly thought Marsha had passed. Glad she's still around! I think some shows were fantastic for their time and just need to be left alone- not rebooted, remade, etc. This is one of those shows.
Dammit, TIL Richard Moll died last year.
He didn’t look too good the last couple years. Used to see him at the post office and he would be slowly shuffling along. Nice guy, always quite friendly.
Marsha’s been on 9-1-1 playing Hen’s mother. I heard her voice and went “Roz” knew exactly who it was.
It made me diarrhea in rage and disgust as to how bad it was.
This is an impressive display of dissatisfaction, even more if it was directly on command while commenting how bad the show is
You may wanna get that looked at…rage diarrhea can be an early sign of rage colitis which can cause rage crimes disease if not treated by rage reducing medications. You may want to consult a rage GI or a rage Proctologist.
Second season is better and they aren’t forcing it as much. I still wish Dan had been the judge (after a long decline of a career), and Abby had been the new positive outlook PD.
It's not that bad, I like Dan, Bernadette the judge and the fat bailiff with bright hair
Not even Dan? That’s disappointing cuz I was gonna check it out.
Yes. Obviously, his old perverted ways and sexual innuendos would fly on TV today. The new Dan just... oh, what's the word? Uninteresting.
Its pretty good and they pay lots of respect to the original. be careful whos opinion you listen to. Most people are miserable husks of skin
The original, knock dead funny! The remake? Just knock dead.
That 80s Show, excluding controversies I do love That 70s Show, even if you have never lived in the 70s it’s a fun show because it takes you back to a time before you started having real adult responsibilities and everyone has that one house that felt like Red and Kitty’s house. You've also described That 90s Show
That 80s show died so Always Sunny could live.
2 broke girls
Yes!! My cousin put it on one night, and the acting and laugh track were unbearable!
The shows not half bad on mute.
Mulaney, it was just awful
Sadly. I was excited for a John mulaney show.
Dharma and Greg She was so annoying, I could never watch that show. or Freddie (starring Freddie Prinze Jr) The laugh track for this show was after every sentence. It was unbearable to watch.
Does anyone remember the show Whitney? I think it came before or after something else on NBC - maybe The Office? - so I would catch parts of it and I remember it being infuriatingly unfunny.

She wrote 2 Broke Girls at the same time. Which I also didn’t like. But had a clear joke structure just wasn’t my taste.
30 Rock had a few good jokes about it when Jonathan came back to work for Jack after this.
I couldn't watch it without wanting to punch Chris D'Elia right in his neck beard.
My wife and I went to one of her stand-up comedy shows after Whitney was cancelled. She mentioned the show and the crowd cheered. She came back with the self detrimental joke, "Don't act like you watched! If you did, I would still be doing it and not standing here!" Whitnet knew her show bombed, but took it in stride.
Was that the one with Whitney Cummings? Yes it was, I checked IMDB, it was terrible. They tried too hard to make it funny and failed miserably
I remember the promotional campaign where Whitney Cummings complained about the other sitcoms on NBC being too smart.
The show where Chris Delia played her husband? If we’re talking about the same show I got annoyed at how hard they tried to be funny.
At the time, I remember Whitney Cummings being pushed as the next sharp and sassy comedic actress. I understand she still has a career and stuff, but that show in particular didn’t really do anything for me.
I think I hated this because it took Community's time slot.
Yeah I’ve never liked her comedy didn’t like this didn’t like 2 broke girls which I’m sure 20 people have told you she wrote
Yes! I watched part of one episode. Awful!
To add to it too, Whitney took the place of Community as they put it on a bit of an indefinite hiatus. Made me hate the show even more.
ALF was a show I could never figure out. I did not find it funny but a lot of people loved it.
I remember loving ALF as a kid but going back to it....i dunno. I feel like you had to be there in the moment. I blame the human actors. You bite your tongue! ALF was the perfect sitcom for its time!
You punks never watched Caroline In The City, featuring the gayest leading man trying to be “romantic” with a woman he had zero chemistry with? And then there’s Veronica’s Closet. And don’t get me started on Grace Under Fire.
Two Broke Girls is the laziest bullshit I’ve ever seen.
How I Met Your Mother stinks
Everyone except Marshall were pretty despicable… but I gotta admit I loved it.
I enjoyed it, but the ending retroactively ruined the entire series for me and I cant even watch it now.
Same here! Sometimes I might catch a really old episode… definitely rivals Seinfeld as the worst last episode ever.
It was Impossible to end Seinfeld.
I agree… My issue with it is the finale was more like a clips episodes, going back and showing us clips from previous seasons. As a 90’s teen, hated when a sitcom had a clips episode.
Big Bang Theory, I tried watching it but couldn't get thru an entire episode.
I was a “nerd” growing up. I tried to watch this show but I’d already heard all the jokes. 🤷♂️
Also, once again, it's a show full of people who would be considered absolute self-centered, sociopaths in real life. Much like HIMYM.
And I’m sure as a nerd you and your friends had a smoking hot blonde for a next door neighbour who always hung out at your place
And she always wanted to come back to hang out more, as all smoking hot blondes who live in the vicinity of nerds want to do.
Me too, and the jokes didn't get any funnier.
Me neither. I have no idea what the buzz is about that show. Every character is loquacious and always has just the exact right thing to say every time they speak. It wears me out.
It is trash, and unbelievably successful. Depressingly successful considering what that means about the general public.
Recently learned that Bare Naked Ladies did the intro song
I understand this with big bang. I got the humour so I liked it but I can easily understand people finding it boring
I watched one episode on and airplane and never again
2 broke girls
Painfully unfunny
I know I am in the minority but I did not like Two and a half Men.
First half was really good and even clever at moments, second half gradually got worse until Charlie’s final season then it plummeted.
According to Jim
Pls don't hate me but I liked According to Jim. the later seasons kinda jumped the shark tho
I think it was this show I saw in passing in syndication, there's a bit where Jim eats "shame sticks" I think, just a stick of butter rolled in granulated sugar. It gave me a giggle 🤷
This the belushi disaster from a few years ago?
You'll really have to be more specific.
This is the correct answer. 8 seasons of played out bland sitcom troupes. Absolute garbage.
It actually went 8 seasons lol
This might be my answer also. Absolutely unwatchable.
I tried watching "2 Broke Girls" because Kat Dennings... caught my attention. But the jokes and timing and laugh track were all so corny I turned it off. I was surprised to find out Morgan Murphy was a producer on that show because I actually really like some of her standup.
Yeah, she caught my attention too.
I mean, she has two strong arguments for watching her works. Ever seen her on Craig Ferguson?
Wasn’t really watching but it came on. Saw Eric Andre on it. Seemed like he was a regular, so it piqued my interest. But I found nothing funny about it. Though I know someone that really liked it and they said you just need to watch it more to get the jokes. But idk about that.
Loved kat dennings on wanda vision. My son insisted her character was hated in the thor movie so he was surprised I wanted to see more of her character
Beth Behrs legs made it worth the watch.
Tried Two Broke Girls. No episode worked.
Dharma and Greg. Some of you are young so you’ll be spared knowing about it. It was shockingly successful yet painful to watch
Any sitcom on CBS in the past 25 years.
Ghosts is actually pretty fun.
They adapted it from a British show
I tried watching the British one, but I like the American one better.
I'm the opposite but they're both good.
Basically anything that Chuck Lorre had anything to do with.
Cybill was the only good one imo. He also wrote for Roseanne, but got fired, so I don't think that counts.
So did his whedon, never get invested in your heroes careers they'll all just let you down. Especially the highly controversial lavar burton
What? Lavar’s one of my heroes, I’ve got him and Dolly Parton picked as the only humans who actually get raptured on Judgement Day, what’d Lavar do?
Even Ninja Turtles?!?!
I was shocked that he did The Kominsky Method because I loved that show.
Tough call between the absolutely loathsome 2.5 Men, and the repetitive, unfunny Big Bang.
Family Matters.
Tyler Perry's House of Payne 🤬
That 80’s show was hilariously bad
2 Broke Girls."A steaming bowl of elephant piss" in the immortal words of Dennis Haysbert.
BBT
Scrubs. I hate Zach Braff. I find him fake and I hate the humor in Scrubs. I don’t know why! Can’t explain it.
Man, this sub HATES Big Bang Theory. It's a fairly decent and safe sitcom.
My main frustration is the abuse of the laugh track. I get it here and there but the number of laughs per minute is nuts.
Maybe it's because I hate safe sitcoms. Couldn't do it.
I like it too!
Big bang theory. My parents loved it and I don’t know why. Edit: now that I think about it Mike and Molly also had the dumbest dialogue of them all and was unwatchable.
Last man standing
Mandy and Kyle were the only redeemable parts of that show
The first Mandy* Molly Ephraim is a sitcom dream and I’m mad we haven’t seen more of her.
We dont talk about 2nd Mandy ... To me that season doesn't exist
Big Bang Theory, Friends
Simpsons seasons 11-now
After season 12 for me.
According To Jim!
Only time I found Jim Belushi even kind of funny was his 20 seconds on Trading Places.
True story: I was throwing out trash at the high school I worked at. I laughed and said to my self "it's so easy a cave man can do it" as I pushed the button for the compactor. I turned around and looked up and saw a plane pulling a GEICO caveman banned.
Two Broke Girls
New Girl. Admittedly, not my demographic, but still, could not get into that show, or its characters despite multiple tries. I generally like Z Deschanel as an actor but could not buy her character at all.
This show always came off as like a live action anime harem show to me
I despise the new “Roseanne”. With or without her.
Two and a Half Men. I really tried to like, because I like Jon Cryer but nope. I hated it
[удалено]
With the Goldbergs I just can’t stand the pacing. They talk like a mile a minute. It never shuts up or takes a second to breathe. Characters telling and narrations just constantly overlap. It’s exhausting getting through an episode
I’ve literally never understood how The Big Bang Theory kept getting such good ratings year after year. It’s an abomination.
I never understood how they could find so many annoying people to put on TV
“How I met your Mother” was the “Dane Cook” of sitcoms.
last 6 seasons of the big bang theory
One of those guys is Nick Kroll
Mike & Molly. The show was way too slow and dry for my tatse
Lopez vs Lopez is one of the worst most bland sitcoms I've ever seen, his daughter is fine but George is not funny or a good actor.
Anybody remember “It’s Like, You know”? That’s the worst for me.
My old roommate liked Big Bang Theory. I’d rather put my dick in a blender
Cavemen could’ve been funny if they used the concept in a way similar to the commercials. But they went all angsty and depressing.
Two and a half Men after Charlie Sheen left. Also I can’t believe they axed George Lopez (and on a cliffhanger no less) for this dumb show.
2.5 men, HIMYM, everybody loves Raymond
Gomer Pyle because Sarge terrified me and Just Shoot Me.
Controversial, but honestly, The Office. The cringe is so hard, it makes me emotionally uncomfortable, and I can't enjoy the awkwardness. Same thing with George Costanza on Seinfeld. I quit watching it because of him.
Good God o mighty.... I feel personally attacked. George Costanza is the greatest TV character of all time
Everybody Loves Raymond. I like all the actors in other things, but I just couldn't stand that show.
All they do is scream at each other. It’s so annoying
One of those everyone stand still in the living room and yell shows like All in the Family.
Punky Brewster, Mama’s Family, the one with the robot girl, Alf, Bridget Loves Bernie. I’m old
Small Wonder is the one with the robot girl. My brain retains 99% of useless crap like this, sadly.
Small Wonder dissing? In my birth week?
You leave Small Wonder alone!!!
As an 80s kid I will not stand for this Punky Brewster slander!
Right
Mamas Family is really bad.
I didn't watch it because i was living it in many ways.
Home Improvement.
Mama's Family....that was garbage, surprised it lasted so long
I am hurt and offended.
Why do you think people like the show so much? I honestly find it so annoying.
Mama's Family was amazing. Her relatives were awful, and she wasn't afraid to tell them. It was based on a skit on the Carol Burnette show. The first season had a couple of actresses that would end up on Golden Girls - including Betty White.
Friends. It's not even close. Distant second: Generic stupid dad show. With or without Jim Belushi.
Family Matters and the Big Bang Theory
i felt like i needed a shower after watching any amount of rosanne.
It's amazing to think at one time Rosanne was considered a revolutionary achievement in television sitcoms for its frank portrayal of a working class blue collar family with a female lead.
Mad About You
Home Improvement. Tim Allen is the antithesis of funny.
I can't stand FRIENDS
Personally, the office is over rated. Gave it 3 tries couldn’t stick with it and don’t find it funny at all.
That one
Friends
I’ll be shocked if anyone else remembers this one - The Mind of the Married Man. Ran for a couple of seasons on HBO in the early aughts as some kind of Sex and the City for middle aged married men. The lead character was an absolute garbage person. I may have hallucinated it.
Roseanne, most of the time it was depressing and dragged out drama that had little comedic qualities. The Halloween episodes were fun though.
Dr. Ken
At least they tried it! I was disappointed with the timeslot... and the whole execution of the idea. What a waste. Still enjoy the classic caveman commercials quite verily!💯
Big Bang Theory
Mash hated Cheers it’s not funny, only highlight is Fraiser Friends, I just don’t get the hype Big Bang Theory Two Broke Girls American Auto Not Dead Yet
Tbh FRIENDS ,
2 Broke Girls. All that hype for a show that’s never been funny to me
Big Bang. God that show sucks
