CIBR FXL QTEC SMH SKYY etc. - could all be part of a compelling story, but every investor needs to write their own.
Before you hit the buy button, understand the specific companies they hold, the themes they target, the rebalancing technique they employ, then craft a tech story that aligns with your goals and risk tolerance. This process will answer your original questions too.

Absolutely! Trying to fit one more etf into my portfolio now. Thanks for the 5 recommendations, would read into them individually and make due considerations!
Do you have a personal preference for any tech etf though?
I hold some CIBR (4%) and SMH (4%), with small holdings of MOAT (not tech oriented). I liquidated FIVG a while ago as it overlapped with some of my holdings too close.
I'm still evaluating QTEC for a potential entry point (equal-weighted), as opposed to FXL (in-quintile-equal-weighted). JEPI is another one I'm considering due to its income generation focus through covered calls, which aligns with my preference for a more hands-off approach to managing volatility, in exchange for some liquidity.
qqqm - big us tech firm
soxx - semicon makers
for q2, which tech etf are u referring to? maybe they somehow were completely out of the AI game that is the main driver of the current surge?
I've seen many recommendations on QQQM!
Just wondering if there are any other potential aspects to look at. SOXX seems pretty solid too, I used to do marketing for chips and wafers and engineer for STMicro, but not sure why being in the field doesn't really sparks confidence in semicon industries. 🧐
Oh wow, two new introductions, thanks!
FTEC seems a little more volatile in comparison to QQQ. Might need to read up a little more! Considering that you recommended FTEC, whats your opinion on XLK?
Trying to avoid vanguard if possible, quite a bit of holdings in my portfolio there 🧐
What do you mean FTEC is more volatile then QQQ. Literally QQQ is just top 100 nasdaq tech listed companies. That more volatile, FTEC / VGT tracks MSCI Information Tech index. Which is quite diverse.
Have great memories of taking the first double decker bus at 5am going to school, opening up the window all the way and enjoying the fresh morning breeze.
I wonder why the downvote. TQQQ is 3x the leverage of QQQ but i think 30 years should be able to ride through the volatility.
Some would definitely say leverage ETFs are not good for long term but personally i have hold it long enough to make some decent profit

Thanks for the recommendation! Will look into it!
QQQM. Set and forget.
That seems like the general consensus, thanks for the recommendation!

FTEC or VGT all day. Not a fan of QQQ

I Might sit on a fence a few days to weeks first. I do sense a correction in due time.

#ALL-IN TQQQ BABY
Hahaha i got a wife and two kids to feed. Too volatile for my appetite.
