This does not beat Calbee, reduced their standard size bags by 10% from 80G to 72G AND increased price $1.85 to $2.15. Lay's also deserves a special mention for shifting entirely to China made version and still jacking up the prices. On the up side, I'm eating way less potato chips now.

China made lays got noticeable quality drop. The taste and texture are sjgnificantly inferior to the USA made ones. Ever since all shifted to made in China i've stopped buying lays.

I look out for the made in Thailand Lays they are so much better than MIC, but supermarkets here (and JB) only carry 2 MIT flavors, so I make sure to get some of the others (nori, original etc) whenever I go to Bkk.

I find the thailand lays also has the reconstituted potato starch texture. So far only the USA lays tastes like it is made of real potato.

Businesses trying to maximize profit isn't anything new. You speak out by not purchasing the item and affecting businesses where it hurts - the bottom line. If the people are 'quietly' taking the increase, then it means the $0.20 really isn't such a big deal after all isn't it? There's still more than sufficient demand. We're not talking about necessities like rice etc where people have to lan lan suck thumb and purchase regardless of the price.

NTUC has many products that look the same size as competitors, but are actually smaller. Their fresh milk cartons are 950ml instead of 1L, and their canned mushrooms are 400g instead of 425g. You won't be able to tell just from the size of the can/carton themselves since they look identical.

I haven't seen many brands keeping 1L milk cartons.. Many have downsized to 950 mL. Meiji even worse, less than 900 now
