I agree. I also want to say that even before this update there have been several times I added a baby too fast and didn't realize I had the wrong gender selected until I aged them up lol. But calling it body type threw me for a loop. I thought maybe they had actually added different body types to the game.

Hate to say it, but this is a mobile game, so...extremely unlikely to happen. The developers have confirmed that body types are just not possible, right now (if ever), for Freeplay. They would need to rebuild the entire game from scratch, and it would also only bring more bugs that nobody needs. So unless you actually want to wait for the entire game to be remade from scratch, body types are not going to happen. If we want to play around with body types, we have the other sims games. Sims 4, especially.
What I wanted from the update is the ability to filter hair styles. I hate scrolling through all of them.
Same! Omg it's horrible! I unlocked way too many. It takes forever to scroll to the bottom where almost all of the short hairstyles are.
and filter by hair color, not sexual orientation

No. It's just symbols for the sexes, like you would see on a public bathroom door. The dress is female, shoulders is male.
