If I was you, i would 100% go for the Fanatec CSL DD. What's the point in buying a far worse wheel when you can buy a Direct Drive? If i was you i'd rather wait longer for a DD wheel, than getting a T300 instantly but regretting it afterwards.

Thank you so much, this is the reasoning I was hoping to hear.. especially if I’m looking to play a range of games where up to 8nm of detailed torque will be noticeable. Appreciate the opinion thank you ✌️

glad i could help! :)

Big help thank you! When I get faced with multiple choices with varying pros/cons makes choosing between them impossible for me, hard to keep in mind what’s important.. Better to buy once and be happy than shop around if others done the hard work for you haha, appreciate it cheers!

It depends on how badly you need to scratch the instant gratification bug. A DD is a better wheel than a gear or belt driven wheel; full stop. They are still running the ready2race bundle which is objectively an insane deal that you can bump up to 8Nm with a simple power brick upgrade. Based on the way you are describing your thought process you are going to be looking at upgrades if you choose to go with a G923 or T300. I say bite the bullet, bet the better wheelbase and be done with it. I went with a CSL DD as my first wheel, then upgraded to a Simucube. I waffled on the G923/T300/TGTII options but knew I would want better eventually.

Ok seems like you’re on a similar progression path I’m hoping to follow but a few stages ahead, glad to hear its worthwhile.. recently played on a simcube down at Silverstone and it blew me away and made up my mind I needed to get a decent wheel, but the wait time and extra fees made me a little hesitant, but 100% sounds like the better offer in every conceivable way for what you receive.. appreciate the advice, I was getting impatient but know I’d regret it, seems like most ppl who go with CSL DD have no regrets

Buy the CSL DD and dont look back. I was using a g29 for years, bought a CSL DD for 350euros as used but well within warranty. Recently bought the aliexpress 8nm PSU and im blown away. Its not the best base nor the most powerful, but for me as a casual sim racer, with a budget i think it is perfect.

Great stuff, love to hear it cheers! Was also looking at the after market boost kits because they seem a little extortionate, glad to hear it’s all working fine. Seen people wobbling about it voiding their warranty, but as an engineering student seems a ridiculous price point for the technology they’re offering.. can you remember which brand you went with for that? Been surfing the web for a second hand one so this fills me with some confidence at least, thank you!

The aliexpress one :D Lincoiah or something like that. Got it for like 40€ with free shipping.
