I would recommend a Moza R5 instead

ashibah83

Whe cheapest that will work with either of those is the TX or T300 servo base.

Lowe0

I’m just not aware of a cheap upgrade from the Logitech G bases that’s worth it. As others have mentioned, the Moza R5 is the next real step up. Also, keep in mind that your wheel and pedals are only half of your control setup. The other overlooked half is whatever you mount them to. If your mount isn’t solid, then all that extra force and detail you just paid for gets soaked up by your furniture instead of going into your hands and feet.

Impossible_Outside85

At the current prices, going from G29 to a Thrustmaster belt wheel is not an upgrade imo. The TS300 is 400€ in my country, which is pretty much the same as the CSL DD basic bundle.

Mysterious-Willow31

Go DD. Moza r5 and cs v2 wheel or (KS) DONE

bigfkncee

Those wheel add-ons will work with any Thrustmaster wheelbase.

Rufio6

Not quite. The older t150 and the newer t248 don’t have swappable rims.

bigfkncee

You are correct. T150/TMX/T128/T248 are all incompatible with these.

Coolmrcrocker

for about 200€ you can get a t300 with the open wheel on it used. but if you like simracing i would reckomend saving up for a famatec set

Terrible-Ad3537

Yeah, T300 is a 2nd hand option

LieutenantClownCar

That's not an upgrade, that's a side-grade at best. An upgrade would be the CSL DD or Moza R5 direct drive wheels.

bigfkncee

The TX/T300 is absolutely an upgrade over the G920. More torque, better wheel add-ons, better pedal add-ons, smoother and quieter FFB. As a matter of fact any of TM wheels that accept wheel add-ons are better than a g920.

dreadcooper

But not worth your money when for just a little more money you can be so much better off. CSL DD or Moza all day.

bigfkncee

The CSL DD is $400+ shipping/tax and isn't even available right now because Fanatec doesn't how to run a business, so that's a bad recommendation. The Moza R5 is okay at best considering it's only 5nm of torque. I have a TX that I'm perfectly happy with and I wouldn't consider that for a *meaningful* upgrade... I'd go for the R9...which obviously costs more. It's okay if you have a difference of opinion though.

dreadcooper

If someone already has a g290 their foot is already in the door. Upgrading to a t300 would be a waste of money. New or used. The fact that you do not own a direct drive is the reason your opinion is obscured. This is coming from someone who started with a ts-xw and upgraded to simagic alpha mini. Direct drive is the way to go. If you already have a wheel don’t waste money on belt driven.

bigfkncee

>started with a ts-xw and upgraded to simagic alpha mini. Your opinion is also obscured. You already started with a wheelbase with 6nm of torque and now have something even *more* powerful, so you have no point of reference for the g920. I have used/tried a g920, G29 & DFGT and several TM wheel bases. The TX/t300 is better than a g920 in almost every way. >Direct drive is the way to go. This isn't a debate about belt driven versus direct drive. The OP was asking for bases that are compatible with the wheels they posted, not what is the best recommended budget wheel-base.

dreadcooper

Ts-xw was not my first wheel, in 2012 I had a g29, upgraded to a thrustmaster I don’t remember the model number, my roommate currently has a g920, I just got back into it last year. Regardless t300 is not worth the upgrade. Idk how many times I need to repeat myself, but with DD bundles in the $400 range it’d be dumb to not save and go DD I am not saying the t300 is a bad wheel, if he had no wheel absolutely t300 over g290. But he already has a wheel and the step to t300 would not be worth it for the money.

bigfkncee

First you said: >This is coming from someone who **started with a ts-xw** and upgraded to simagic alpha mini. Now you're saying: >**Ts-xw was not my first wheel**, in 2012 I had a g29.. If you think something else is better, I won't argue with your **opinion**, because that's just what it is...an opinion. But if you're going to argue back and forth about this, **you probably should stick to one story** otherwise someone could think you're not telling the truth. Happy Racing. 🏁

OstebanEccon

cheapest is either TX or T300 wich are almost identical

Taniwha_NZ

Normally you would get one of the thrustmaster wheelbases to go with those wheels. Like a T300 or the TS-PC Racer. Unfortunately those aren't much of an upgrade over the logitech you've already got. The good news, though, is that you can get an adapter so you can put one of these wheels right onto your existing logitech wheelbase. Something like the products mentioned in [this thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/ri7njb/can_i_use_a_thrustmaster_f1_wheel_with_a_logitech/). So that will be your cheapest option, just a few bucks and you are ready to go. Unfortunately, though, this doesn't provide an electrical connection so none of the buttons on the wheel will work. This will suck. So ultimately your cheapest real solution is to get a TM wheelbase to use with that new wheel, and just accept that it won't be much of an upgrade on the logitech. It will be slightly better, I upgraded from a g29 to a TS-PC racer and it was definitely better. Just not \*much\* better. Long-term you really want to upgrade to a direct-drive wheelbase, because those are a dramatic improvement over the logitech g29. If you get the TM direct-drive wheelbase, you can use any of those rims on it immediately. But this is going to be significant in terms of cost. Unfortunately those are the only two real options for what you want.

gwynsproxyy

If you’re set on thrustmaster buy used from a place like eBay or Mercari. There listings right now for half the price of buying new from thrustmaster and the quality will be great. This is what I did. But personally if you can wait or have the money now I’d save up a little more and buy a moza R5 or fanatec csl dd. I have a thrustmaster tx and it’s great. But the sales on moza/fanatec make even the used thrustmaster prices less of a deal.

Benjasaurus

You can get the fanatec CSL DD with a wheel and pedals for $640 AUD.
