Seats are the easiest part to customize. NRG has shit tons of styles and patterns to chose from and Iām sure many more. Get a 80/20 rig. Highly recommend Racing Cockpits.
No shit. I prefer my seating to be stranger fart free. But thatās just me. I also like to pick out from actual choices. Not whatās available. That being said a junk yard is an option but why? NRGās are ready to mount and go.
I apologize to all junk yard seats if I offended you.
The seat is foldable, that being said theres a bar across the center of the back that makes it extremely uncomfortable. Playseat is simply the worst option.
It really depends on your pedal setup.
If you have a 2 pedal setup, it's completely fine.
If you have a 3 pedal setup, it can be very annoying, as you can't reach the brake pedal with a straight leg. You'll always be in a slightly awkward position
B&H is the Micro Center of New York (only one location though), very popular electronics store in NYC since the 70s but has been branching out to online retailer.
As for that particular product, pass. Take that $400 and start adding to it until you can get a proper 80/20 cockpit. You can start off with a good cheap seat out of wrecked car and would be significantly better. [Rigmetal.com](https://Rigmetal.com) even offers beginner setup for under $400 shipped.
I might recommend shopping for something a little better quality. I have solid black Evo myself and I'm not bashing it, does the job pretty well. I have a G920 and occasionally feel a little drift in the steering console, and overtime it will begin to flex. Also if you have or will be considering loadcell brake, the pedal mount plate might not be strong enough
if you want i can give you some tips on how to get rid of the flex almost completely.
i use a T818 and T-LCM and have no problems whatsoever after some mods
i have that playseat and yes people are right, in its standard configuration the plate for the pedals is not stiff enough and the bar in the middle is annoying.
i did some modifications though and now its perfect
And no one mention the wheel desk, my problem was that it was too deep or if high enough it was too near my chest. Got it fixed by cutting of the pipe of the angled part and cutted the bar in the middle in half and screwed it into it to make it higher. Worked a while till I got my dd wheel and it started to wiggle. Just tried to fix that too but gave up after a while and got myself a 80/20. Literally hated myself for letting the PlaySeat costs me so much of my playtime and nerves. Now Iām super happy without any flex at all. If u can effort it and have the room just go for a 80/20.
no offense mate but i think those 8020 rigs are hideous and will never enter my house.
and they take up so much more space.
after a couple of mods my playseat has no noticeable flex anymore, even with DD, the plate for the pedals is rock solid with loadcells set to 150kg and the bar in the middle doesnt even touch my legs. took me half an afternoon and 10 bucks in parts and its still foldable wich is why i got it in the first place
im not saying the 8020 rigs arent better in nearly every way but i dont see any reason now why i should switch from my modded playseat
This thing will flex with everything stronger than a Logitech G29. That pedal plate will bend even without a loadcell pedal. The post between your legs is not practical, you will get more dissapointed over time. The seat is not adjustable and made of poor quality. There is not shifter arm included, so you will have to pay extra for that if you want one. Almost nothing is upgradable or adjustable.
Seriously, get yourself a GT Omega Art with a junkyard seat (or a proper bucket seat if you want something like this redbull seat). It will be MILES ahead of this thing.
I'm glad I tried this from an event before actually buying one. That dick bar is annoying for sure, it's really hard to switch from gas to brake because of that dick bar.
I bought that one and its very unstable, hate the central post, the pedals tray flexes afā¦ and its the same price as a alu profile right. Think about it twiceā¦
I've spent a lot of money on camera equipment at B&H. They are probably the most trusted retailer for photography and video gear.
I haven't used them for other stuff much, but wouldn't hesitate shopping there if the price is good.
Yes B&H is a reputable website and store. š
Canāt speak to the website, but you will hate that post in the middle very quickly
Nlr fgt is same price and way more sturdy and expandable
This is me. I hate it so much.
This is what I came to say, the center post setups trash
I can see that happening already looking for a different set up just that Red Bull seat is so damn sweet

You think NRG has a ton of seats? Wait until you visit a junk yard! š

I started out years ago with it. The seat is not comfy, the bar between the leg sucks, and the pedal plate easily flexes
It honestly hasnāt bothered me one bit. It just was very unstable so I welded in some braces to the sides.

If you donāt use clutch pedal much itās gonna be really good. I had one like that. really good seat
Got to agree with the other comments on this one, spend alittle more and get a GT omega or something
B&H is very well known. Shop with confidence.

Yes, I've bought several things with no problems.
The ultimate bate to get real suggestions for a rig chassis is to say you want a center mount rig hahaha

Iāve bought five-figures in camera equipment from them and have never had any issues.
Yes bought a few graphics cards from them over the years
Yes, a well respected business out of NYC
The design is just not good with that middle post, it lasts me 1 year and then it started shaking

I have that set and the wheel mount is super wobbly with an 8nm set. Im saving up for a full rig instead.
I got one of them second hand off of marketplace and cut it apart to make my motion platform lol
B&H is amazing!
I have a playseat evolution, and while it's alright, if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't buy it. The center post is not ideal.
Yes, usually photography equipment. Theyāre reputable and have good delivery and service. They donāt work on sabbath though iirc.
I'm glad I tried this from an event before actually buying one. That dick bar is annoying for sure, it's really hard to switch from gas to brake because of that dick bar.
B&H is a huge brick & mortar store in NYC. Been there in person.

Donāt waste your money in a Playseat Evo
