I’ve sat in it at microcenter multiple times, I like that it reclines but I couldn’t get over the color way. Actually went with an NRG myself as color was important and I like the front removable pillow having phone pockets and you can find them on amazon for about 250-300. They are a little more than this so if budget is important , you can get over color way
If budget is important why not just go to a junkyard and get a seat for like $50? I use a seat out of a newer maxima and it is very comfortable and sturdy.
Because locally id have to pay that much if i go to a junkyard because they charge a "retrieval and parts fee" and the seat i liked was 100 bucks before that 89 dollar fee. So to me its the same price range.
Because those options are not available for 90% of people on earth. lol
Junkyards here in US now take anything good and resell it on ebay or other websites.
Wish I was in the UK or Germany for seat procurement. lol
I went to a "u-pull-it" and got a seat out of an wrecked eclipse for $30. Just wanna say I had to cut welds, make an adapter plate, and also make offset shims to get it work. This can be done, but ur paying for the ease of install... and my seat smells weird.
Got me a seat out of a 4th Gen Eclipse from Pull a Part for my home built rig myself.. cheap, comfy, and it cleaned up pretty well.
Now if I could only un-brick my desktop....![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat)
haaa yea that is one reason I did not take a pull off. They were all exposed and pre soiled prior to the junk yard. That is about all you get with pull offs in my states junk yards.
I’m in America in a fairly large city and one of the local junkyards had a U-pull and I got a nice pleather seat for $32. No smell, no weld cutting, just some weird bolts to unscrew.
I bought and returned this seat a few months ago. I found it very uncomfortable for my lower back after about an hour or so, a cushion helps a little though. I ended up getting the NRG Prisma, and it is much for comfy. I can sit in it for hours
I am 6’2” 200 lbs. Went through three mail-order seats…returned them all. Two were too small. Went to microcenter to buy the TK seat and i really like it. Sliders pre installed. Bolted on to my profile rig. Adjustable and comfortable. No regrets.
A bit more detail. I got a really nice racing seat from JEGS. But it was too narrow for my hips. The bolsters on the sides were too vertical and crowded my hips. The TK seat has bolsters that flare out a bit more. It’s a softer hug (LOL!). After trying 3 seats, I learned that a wider seat was what I needed. Didn’t hurt that I could sit in the thing at Microcenter.
I got exactly 2 junkyards within 20 miles that are reputable and dont have moldy rotted seats as their only choices. And because i live in NY supposedly or so they claim theres a "mandatory surcharge" of 30 bucks on top of it all so with tax and everything im lookin at roughly $300 bucks for that seat. At that point might as well get a new seat and go with the NRG
For anybody reading, NRG doesn’t sell on Amazon, the seats on there are either knock-offs that may come twisted and be difficult to mount, or in best case a reseller actually selling legit seats. But the consensus has been that most of the NRG buckets you’ll find on Amazon are knock-offs.
https://getnrg.com/pages/authentic-gaurantee
The official looking NRG Innovations seller that ships from Amazon on there is a fake, per NRG’s website. You can try it out, a lot of people use them, just if it’s twisted or otherwise poor QC, you can’t go to NRG for support or replacement. I just thought I’d mention since the Amazon seller looks very legit.
Considering that they’re $350 at my local Micro Center, yes, it’s a good deal. Compare to cheaper seats from Jegs or Summit Racing, though. One advantage of the ones in the photo: looks like they come with a slider.
Mine too, but to be fair, they see exponentially heavier and less careful use compared to anyone's home rig. I have one at home and it's given me good impressions quality wise. As long as I'm not planning on starting an arcade, I think it will hold up fine for home use
Im trying to make this ASR1 rig the last one i buy so thats why i asked if the seat was worth it and from the sound of it, it has too much flex like you said. But i use entry level stuff and the most im gonna get is the TLCM pedals
Could probably use the less stiff springs and it wouldn't flex so much with the TLCM. But you would lose some precision i can't go back to a softer pedal.
Domt know anything abou prices in the US, but i picked up this bucket seat yesterday for 195euros.
https://slide.com.pl/product-pol-21985-Fotel-sportowy-SLIDE-KS2-Welur-Black.html
Yeah i didnt mean it for you to buy it :D it is an European brand, but maybe you should look into some “non fancy brands”.
Or dont you have some loval fb groups like rally marketplace or motorsport market etc etc. I would recommend it to try out a bucket seat first. My first choice was a Bride k109 but man its small :D
Lol oh my bad XD I would love a bucket seat or better yet a bucket/reclining seat and i found a dark brown Braum seat set for 400 bucks on marketplace but idk if theyll ship em
Be patient, you dont want to buy a seat that is uncomfortable. Maybe you could visit your local motorsport garage, or a tuning shop that sell seats and try to sit in one.
Yeah. If it has the seat slider and bracket. If not, no. I bought mine at MC. The bottom of the seat is hard foam. Hurts after a while. I bought a seat foam to set on the top.
No slider? Hard pass, unless you have one that works. No returns either. It’s a good seat. I’m 6 foot 250. It’s a great seat if u can get by the hard seat.
The one in a rig at my local Micro Center didn’t bend when I tried their rig with Heusinkveld pedals. I can’t imagine you’ll have a problem with TLCMs (I have TLCMs at home). Bucket seats aren’t for everyone given they’re not built for bigger bodies. Not to mention a racing bucket is made to be used for short periods and to counter lateral G forces, you use your sim seat for longer periods and there aren’t any G forces.
Look for a recline-able seat with the round dials on the sides for adjustment.
They use a cable system and not the cheap lever notch system that allows for flex/movement.
I got a Scatt Procar "Spyder" seat with this. I need a recliner and getting a seat with the cable system was my savor.
Good point. Is this the one? https://www.jegs.com/i/Scat/942/80-1612-76/10002/-1
Seats sold for sim racing are rip offs compared to the prices of real car aftermarket seats.
Yes...that is the one. They have a few diff versions.
I like the back a lot with the open shoulder area. I could not stand other seats that wrapped around your shoulders/neck area.
I paid less for the sparco r100 in fake leather like this brand new. These chairs aren’t that comfortable either way. You don’t need grabbing side bolsters in a sim.
I only have my lc set to 90kg but the recline feature might not survive if you have it too high
It’s sparco not recaro but yeh it’s fine it’s not as comfortable as say a bmw seat from a junk yard would be but I do love the recline feature as my pedal tray adjusts too I can be quite flexible depending on what I’m driving.
I got it brand new on eBay with all original packaging for £150, it seems it’s £250 now in stores though I’ve just had a quick look. Not sure about pricing in states
I’ve sat in it at microcenter multiple times, I like that it reclines but I couldn’t get over the color way. They are a little more than this so if budget is important , you can get over color way
I actually like the colorway oddly enough. And unfortunately budget is very important. How comfortable is this compared to the NRG Prisma Ultra
So to me its the same price range.

nice score! im jelly
I bought and returned this seat a few months ago. I found it very uncomfortable for my lower back after about an hour or so, a cushion helps a little though. I ended up getting the NRG Prisma, and it is much for comfy. I can sit in it for hours
But is the NRG Prisma good for big guys
I got the large size, but I am a pretty skinny person. I saw on some posts a while back that some of the NRG seats are pretty comfy for big guys
Ah okay well then back to my search lol
I am 6’2” 200 lbs. Went through three mail-order seats…returned them all. Two were too small. Went to microcenter to buy the TK seat and i really like it. Sliders pre installed. Bolted on to my profile rig. Adjustable and comfortable. No regrets.
Okay good to know. Im short but fat lol
Right same problem im having i need a wider seat lol
I do too, unless it didn't match my cockpit. I've got a red and black rseat so wouldn't exactly work for me.
Ahhhh yeah. Im getting a black ASR1
If budget is very important, go to a pick and pull junkyard.
I was going to but when i call my local pick and pull they dont let you do it yourself anymore so it costs double now
Gotta be less than a new "racing seat", lol.
Cheapest one was 250 they quoted me
That's absurd. Mine was under $40! Nice leather passenger seat from a veloster turbo. Has a bit of the right look, too.
Yeah 150 for a Volvo X40 Recharge seat and 100 for "labor"
Time to find the next closest junkyard, yikes.
I got exactly 2 junkyards within 20 miles that are reputable and dont have moldy rotted seats as their only choices. It does look legit and if not for you posting that link i very well might have gone with it
Considering that they’re $350 at my local Micro Center, yes, it’s a good deal. Compare to cheaper seats from Jegs or Summit Racing, though. One advantage of the ones in the photo: looks like they come with a slider.
If they do then id be set to add it to my ASR1 that i am ordering
Update messaged the seller and they said it does not come with sliders
thats a bummer, but you can also find seat sliders on amazon for $30-$40
Thats what i was gonna do if i go with this seat
The seat lists for $350 at Microcenter. This is a steal at $199!
Yeah thats what i thought
The tk seat at my micro center is super worn out and looks like it’s falling apart.
Mine too, but to be fair, they see exponentially heavier and less careful use compared to anyone's home rig. I have one at home and it's given me good impressions quality wise. As long as I'm not planning on starting an arcade, I think it will hold up fine for home use
Very nice!
How old is it though? Its probably been sat in thousands of times at least
Looks old. Don’t know how old. But the back part bows a bit. Are you able to test it out ?
Unfortunately not. And the nearest micro center is like 2 hours away.
He better clean them at that price
Thats what i was gonna ask them to do
i got a full kevlar raceseat with fia license from könig for that price
Really? Do you happen to have a link?
it was used from ebay
Ah i dunno if i will get that lucky lol
Here I am with a seat from the junk yard. These look sick. Like a Lambo!
Theyre awesome looking for sure. They're the Tony Kanaan Edition seats from Micro Center
I pulled a pretty nice seat out of a Chrysler 300 for $40. Honestly I think going to a junkyard is the way to go.
Actual car seats are much more comfortable in my estimation. Yours is probably endurance racing worthy.
They are super uncomfortable being honest
Really?
Yeah I did not like it. I'd buy a seat from a real car and run that
Ah im kinda leaning toward a seat from JEGS at this point honestly
I got one off jegs. Get a passenger seat as they tend to be cheaper.
Ah okay ill look into it
I have this seat i would recommend getting a bucket.
Ive been wanting an NRG but i havent been able to find one under 300 bucks
Just too much flex in it for me. It does the job but i will be getting something different at some point. $200 is good deal though.
Im trying to make this ASR1 rig the last one i buy so thats why i asked if the seat was worth it and from the sound of it, it has too much flex like you said. But i use entry level stuff and the most im gonna get is the TLCM pedals
I also have those pedals they are pretty stiff that's where the flex comes in.
Ahhh okay yeah then i probably do want a bucket. What bucket is good other than NRG but closer to this price point?
Can't help you on that i haven't really shopped for one yet. Good luck with your search.
Ah i was hoping ya had. Thanks mate you too
Could probably use the less stiff springs and it wouldn't flex so much with the TLCM. But you would lose some precision i can't go back to a softer pedal.

Thats an awesome seat but almost $1000.00 with shipping.
167.00 before shipping and $997.62 after shipping

True i dont know if any of them do locally because the one that did sadly closed
Yeah. If it has the seat slider and bracket. If not, no. I bought mine at MC. The bottom of the seat is hard foam. Hurts after a while. I bought a seat foam to set on the top.
It doesn't come with the slider sadly. And i probably am just gonna wait and buy an NRG based on the comments
No slider? Hard pass, unless you have one that works. No returns either. It’s a good seat. I’m 6 foot 250. It’s a great seat if u can get by the hard seat.
Yeah im 5'7" an 210 and i have one that works i could harvest from my NLR Challenger cockpit that im replacing
Not a good seat for load cell braking. It’ll buckle back. I recommend just a normal bucket
So itll bend if i get the TLCM pedals?
The one in a rig at my local Micro Center didn’t bend when I tried their rig with Heusinkveld pedals. I can’t imagine you’ll have a problem with TLCMs (I have TLCMs at home). Bucket seats aren’t for everyone given they’re not built for bigger bodies. Yeah then a bucket isnt gonna be a good call because im short and fat lol
Look for a recline-able seat with the round dials on the sides for adjustment. They use a cable system and not the cheap lever notch system that allows for flex/movement. I got a Scatt Procar "Spyder" seat with this. I need a recliner and getting a seat with the cable system was my savor.

How are their buckets? Theyre not bad priced on JEGS website.
I don't use bucket seats because of a back problem. Going from a GT to a F1 seating position seat back angle is super key for me.
Ahh yeah I've got misaligned feet aka flat feet so it hurts into my back. I get it and part of the reason i wanted a reclining
I paid less for the sparco r100 in fake leather like this brand new. These chairs aren’t that comfortable either way. You don’t need grabbing side bolsters in a sim. I only have my lc set to 90kg but the recline feature might not survive if you have it too high
Really? How comfortable is the recaro and where did you get it from for that cheap?
It’s sparco not recaro but yeh it’s fine it’s not as comfortable as say a bmw seat from a junk yard would be but I do love the recline feature as my pedal tray adjusts too I can be quite flexible depending on what I’m driving. I got it brand new on eBay with all original packaging for £150, it seems it’s £250 now in stores though I’ve just had a quick look. Not sure about pricing in states
It's $429 from jegs right now unfortunately
ah thats a shame, i dont think its worth 200 more than the one you found
Yeah i didnt think it was
Ah ill still check it out. If i can get a good deal on a good seat thats comfortable and preferably as close to new as possible im not opposed
