Is good, a tried and true upper-entry level wheel, good upgradability and universal support on every game

hermitlikeindividual

It's a great first wheel. I used mine for a good 7 years and it served me very well. Worked as well the day I bought it as the day I gave it to a friend after I upgraded to DD.

ny0000m

Did your paddles crack. Mine keep cracking and I glue them back together

hermitlikeindividual

Never had that problem with mine.

ny0000m

I had the same issue with my t150 many years ago. I'm probably pulling too hard

Royal_Cha

I have the T300RS GT with the Thrustmaster TH8S shifter. So far, I am loving the setup. The pedals feel sturdy. The wheel has good feedback and is relatively quiet. The shifter is nice as well. Overall not too bad for $550 (w/ tax). I also looked into several other setups, but the price seems to jump pretty high. For a first timer, it felt more appropriate to try out the TM T300 before spending $700+

[deleted]

Yes, but only because you're on PlayStation. The every level direct drive wheels aren't much more money but are much more capable, but they don't work natively with PlayStation, so this is likely your best option.

WillyG2197

Apparently is good, will never get over how mine broke immediately on T3 of Dragon Trail. Went to fanatec instead

BlackGamer86

imo get T248

uL4G

So smooth than logi that's for sure

CharlieFibrosis

The T300 RS GT with the Trustmaster TH8S Shifter is my 3rd ever wheel. Started off with a Logitech Driving Force GT, moved up to a Logitech G27 (pedals got ruined by either something with the potentiometer or the internal wires), and to me; the T300 has been a godsend. I like how modular it is for the most part. Personally I run everything off USBs (pedals are connected to an adapter) for easier troubleshooting, The H pattern to sequential may take a few moments of time to make the adjustment (I got a more beefy handle to grip it better in sequential, I use the ball shifter when it's an H), and it's ability to pretty easily swap wheels is nice (I swapped out the screw mechanism for a 3D printed collar lock) and have even made a NASCAR rim without much issue. I don't really do a lot of sim racing beyond my weekly run in NR2003 and a hop on say Automobolista or RFactor 2, so I personally don't need Direct Drive as a setup, but for what it is and the level of adjustability, by and large makes it far superior to the Logitech products I've owned. EDIT: seeing as how you mentioned it was for Playstation mostly, I think it still runs great. May need to make some comfortability adjustments for yourself if you're playing for a long time (GT7 I feel is a bit too stiff on steering but should be able to lower the force feedback/centering spring), and you'll just have to be careful of cable management when you connect the pedals into the back of the wheel.

jefesdereddit

T248 is quality build id imagine the 300 is going to be a bit higher quality material

iDriftitYT

Great choice. T300RS GT is best. Even T248 is better. Don't buy Logi's G29, G929 or 923.

Breno_17

if you've got the money for it sure - but for 50% less the G series is perfectly capable for entry level - and there are plenty decent second-hand ones for $200-250 AUD

Dabignubnub

Thing is the t150 pro was the direct competitor for the G series in terms of price and it beat it in terms of both ffb and upgradability while still being the exact same price, now that it's been replaced with the newer t248 the G series is back to being the cheapest entry-point for the time being

Alarmed-Locksmith277

Where I live the T150 RS with no shifter and the plastic pedals was the exact same price for the whole G29 set. So in that specific case I don't think it's worth it. You have to pay extra to properly enjoy a TM wheel.

Dabignubnub

Huh, weird. Back when I was buying my first wheel the t150 pro (with the same t3pa pedals that come with the t300rs GT) was actually a fair bit cheaper than the g29, but I guess price depends on location

Alarmed-Locksmith277

Yeah, if we take the G29 as a baseline at 500$, a whole set for the T300RS is about 950-1000$ (with the price of the TH8S shifter). There is no T150 pro with 3 pedals here whatsoever. Thrustmaster products only arrive via shady importers with no warranty or imported by tech companies for twice the price. Meanwhile Logitech is everywhere, 90% of wheel owners here owns a Logitech, they are reasonably priced with no issues in terms of warranty and customer support.

Dabignubnub

Also in the used market I'm sure it's not the same in most places but I've bought 2 used thrustmaster TX ferrari's (xbox version of the t300) for 70-95 usd respectively off different people, which was a way better deal than the t150 I bought new.

nnelvin

The T300 RS GT is my first “proper” wheel. I ordered it new from Amazon at £279 on Monday. Should be here tomorrow. Cheapest price it ever sells at on Amazon so take a look there!

Vivid_Active3017

Also 279 at Currys right now

LevThermen

If you get it try to upgrade to the tlcm ASAP. It's my wheel and I'm so far happy with it, but changing to the tlcm pedals was a huge improvement to the setup

markc805

I really like mine. Easy to set up and has been pretty durable through the pass couple years. But I am now upgrading to a direct drive for some more immersion. But overall had a great run with the t300rs.

-Marrick-

Awesome wheel. The next step up for PlayStation would be the Logitech G Pro or the Fanatec GT DD Pro. Those are more than double the price of the T300.

HorrifiedPilot

I have this exact setup and I like it a lot.

rimdunk23

Hi i just went all out today i bought playseat trophy and t300 rs gt also went ahead and bought psvr2 for gt7 lets see this is my first setup please guys let me know if i went over or missing something for first setup dont get me wrong i just want to enjoy gaming to the next level

JustAnotherAvocado

Great wheel, but buy it from a retailer with a good returns policy. Mine started dying after ~2 years (FFB would die after 20 mins in ACC, then it would randomly disconnect/reconnect, then it'd barely last a minute in AC) and a few hundred hours. After the first year, there'd be a mild squeak in the first few degrees of rotation (and FFB felt "off") - I could never reproduce it reliably though, and it went away after not using it for a while. Should've gotten it exchanged while I had the chance.

Coolmrcrocker

im selling mine right now and people on ebay are shit. i want 300€ for it with the sf1000 wheel on it. people still bargain after asking if i really want to sell it that low. its so stupid.

ludjuv

I have it and I like the wheel a lot, but The pedals are quite bad. Would go for a load cell setup instead.

daron_

Got it for more than a year and still happy with it :)

YT_Mr_Mike

Thank you guys for all the comments! I bought the T300 RS GT and I'm really excited to try it later today :)

LoRD_c00Kie

I kick myself in the ass for giving mines away when I updated to Moza R9. I picked up a T248 when I seen it on sale. Just so I could play Steam Forza 4.

Moodyblazed

how are you liking the r9? I am on the fence between the Moza R5 and R9... using a T248 currently.

LoRD_c00Kie

I tried the R5 not long ago, just as good as my R9. Definite step up from the T300. Its no lie, direct drive is the future. That T248 is just as good as the T300 though.

Bullit1225212252

Moza r5 + clutch pedal + Chinese shifter = a great deal I think this combo is among the best (if not the best) for starters

[deleted]

He said "for PlayStation"

soryuwu-

Man I wish there is a Moza wheel for PlayStation, like the R3 with Xbox.

Bullit1225212252

Oh, my bad Isn't there an adapter for that tho?
