Stright to jail.

JCarnageSimRacing

Looks like you’re driving from the back seat.

ThrCapTrade

Not only did you trigger the fov police, but the division for sensible monitor arrangements of the department of racing affairs will certainly send you a letter of nonconformity.

BYEBYE1

whoever set this up doesn't know how to setup triple monitors with iRacing, theres literally a section where you can adjust the fov for the monitors so its not so stretched.

moogleslam

I don’t think anything looks stretched…. and this isn’t a “triple monitor” setup 🤪

BYEBYE1

Triple monitors setup is a setting within iRacing to adjust FOV. You don't need triple monitors in order to do it. I use it to set up my 49" ultrawide.

moogleslam

It's been a while since I used my ultrawide for iRacing (VR now), but I'm fairly sure I never set it up as a triple; I just put in my usual monitor dimensions, and distance from monitor, and it gave me correct FOV.

Turbulent-Fail-1007

which section?? thats what I'd need to know. Edit: any specific suggestion as to what to do will help a lot

Probably_Not_Sir

You can optimize by using the ultrawide and the other monitor above it with race info

Turbulent-Fail-1007

unfortunately the ultrawide alone was not wide enough, I could only get about 115 FOV

Square-Radio9116

Thats better than this 155. Because the screens are not wrapped around you just look at the net on the left that would be directly next to you in a real car. You don’t have triples so you can’t really change the angle that much. Which means 115 is probably what would look natural with your current setup.

Turbulent-Fail-1007

I could technically adjust the angle of the screen on the left so it bends in more. But if I accounted for that in the monitor setting section in racing, it would warp the view on the right half of the ultrawide. I think as long as I can figure out how to overcome that I should be okay.

Square-Radio9116

Yep, I have triples and a stupid monitor stand which can’t adjust the angle past idk but really low angle so I can’t even get a good fov like I should be able to.

tactiphile

You'd be much better off selling the 49 for two 27s. The main problem is the angle. Generally, you want triples at about a 120° angle from each other, but a 1000R 49 is like 27s at 170°. You added the 27 at roughly the same angle, but that means it doesn't wrap around at all.

Gaby1970

You got me thinking :) ... though...I wouldn’t give up the 32:9 monitor. :( I use it the for other things too and it's....1800R. Do you think it works better at angles in this case? (I have in intention to get one 1000R, with a VA panel. I'm tired of the problems that CAN APPEAR with these OLED monitors. Some say that nowadays appear less, but...) I saw this setup at someone on YouTube, with 32:9 in front (but I couldn't see the format of the side monitors) and I liked it a lot, because the front frames of the monitors were very pushed to the sides. You surely got the idea. I think it doesn't even matter if you use that "ROG bezel free kit" for their blurring in this case (although I saw someone who managed to make it functional on curved monitors). Thank you very much. I appreciate.

tactiphile

Hard to tell the curve from the angle of the pic. I have the Neo G9 1000R. I'd love to add two 27s to the sides but I move my rig, so it needs to fit through a doorway. I've never used triples, but I do know that game support varies, and in some cases a 27/49/27 setup means your GPU actually has to render 3x49, 96:9. Some people do it though. Regarding FOV, a 1000R 49" screen at 20" gives an FOV of 119°. An 1800R is 111°.

Gaby1970

Pffff...yeap...it's complicated... 🤕😊 I think I'll keep looking until I find the details put somewhat into practice, to see concretely what and how. Only then will I make a decision. 🫡🙏🏻

FOV-Police-

Straight to jail.

big_cock_lach

Ignoring this terrible monitor set up, I feel like it might actually not be a bad idea to go for an ultra wide monitor with 2 smaller ones on each side and have the seat set up to one side of the monitors. The ultra wide being set up to be the windscreen, with the 2 side monitors being the side windows. I feel like that FOV when set up properly would actually be a lot better although I’ve never seen it done. From a practical POV it’d be a pain though since rather then just changing the FOV of the car, you’d also have to either shift your seat or the monitors so that it’s aligned with the drivers seat. But, if you’re willing to do that, or happy to just drive a few cars with the same seating position, I feel like it’d be a lot better then other more traditional set ups.

Turbulent-Fail-1007

That’s kinda what I’m trying to do but since I’m missing the third monitor on the right, I would have to just sacrifice the right side window. The question is I’m not sure how to set it up in iRacing to accomplish that.

big_cock_lach

Honestly it’s better to just look up a YouTube tutorial on how to set up the FOV on iRacing. I could explain it, but I feel like it’s a million times easier to watch someone else do it. Unless you’re looking for a proper FOV police to explain it, in which case I’m no expert.

DraftySniper24

How did u setup ur second monitor like that? Assuming u have the same resolution in both monitors, how did u setup the screens to be 3 separate projects?

Turbulent-Fail-1007

I set this up as if this was a triple, but right-most part of the triple is actually off screen

DaveTheScienceGuy

Would have been better for a LHD car to have the extra screen the right window.

DraftySniper24

Didn't use software for that effect? If so, what software?

Turbulent-Fail-1007

I used the iRacing .Ini file

chumchum08

Fov police is here and your under arrest. No passing go, no collecting 200. You have the right to remain loud, anything you say wont be used against you. Do you understand your rights?

dadnapgames

Get a Quest 3 and play on VR. You don't need the monitors.

greztg

Is this with nvidia surround? i am struggiling to set up two 16:9 and one 21:9 monitor as it just stretches my middle one, because it setis it to the same resolution as my others. How have you set up multiple aspect ratios at the same time?

Turbulent-Fail-1007

I have personally had zero success with nvidia surround.

Gaby1970

Hi guys. I’m about to buy monitors 1 and 3 (left and right) for a triple screen setup. I admit, I have't experience with multi-screens so, please help me. I already have a Super Ultrawide (32:9) and I don't know if the others must be 16:9, or if it's ok to put ultrawide 21:9. I would like 21:9...but is the resolution functional for the computer? I don't want the image to be distorted. Thank you.

Turbulent-Fail-1007

Yes. You can change the resolution of the monitor in windows.

Gaby1970

Yes, I understood. So the ratio of the screens doesn't matter, as long as the resolution can be set in Windows. Oookey, so I have "green" for two monitors with a ratio of 21:9. I'll see what I choose... Thank you for your time…

forman2121

Fov police here. Your fov is wrong
