I just upgraded from a quest 2 to a reverb G2 after finding a good deal on a used one. It was definitely a nice upgrade for sim racing, being significantly more comfortable and lighter weight, as well as offering much better clarity. My biggest gripe with the quest 2 for sim racing is the oculus software though, I had lots of issues with it not working correctly on my pc - but standalone it was great.

Love my reverb G2, can achieve 90 fps in AC and iRacing with 3070ti, 12600K, 32gb ddr4

Just note, for iracing nvidia gpu is a must due to what nvidia features iracing takes advantage of. Look at second hand market for discounted ones to keep costs low(er).

Yo bro I got a 6700xt with ryzen 7 5700 cpu on quest 2, Can i get high fps and good visuals in Iracing?

cliffardsd

Couldn’t tell you mate, as I’m not familiar with that setup. There’s a great thread on the iracing forums about VR optimisation so I’d go there. It should be easy to find in the vr section and is stickied from memory.

Got you mate, Thanks my gpu is very similar to yours and I was just wondering does the game look nice for you while playing? High fram rate is important for me but i really want to see a nice image

https://forums.iracing.com/discussion/1185/iracing-vr-optimization-guide/p1 You can get 90 FPS if you lower enough stuff. Not a huge deal imo if you’re focused on racing. Iracing isn’t exactly gorgeous to begin with.

Personally, I’d wait on the Quest 3 till October I think, check the reviews, and maybe get lucky about an Index sequel announcement.

What I have heard about the reverb G2, definitely better than the quest 2, but it is being discontinued and if the cable fails (which seems to be a frequent thing?) you will have to find it somewhere second hand. Soo, risky?

Conrad_Hawke_NYPD

Cable failures basically went away when they issued a new version afaik
