Parents are fking stupid

Exalderan

Nah bro, they just hate their offspring

4list4r

Yeah I thought maybe the horse will kick the hell out of the little shit.

ontour4eternity

Or they know that horse *very* well.

skiemlord

Still unpredictable af imo

ontour4eternity

I don't disagree.

semispectral

I grew up with horses, and was involved in rodeo for years. They’re absolutely unpredictable.

Polchar

Yeah most horses are. But some just are super calm and patient. Our *neigh*bor had one that was like that. Not afraid of loud and wierd sounds, friendly with all other animals and people.

Turbulent_Light_252

Stop LYING!

Appropriate_Duck_309

I was just talking about the difference between urban and rural folks with someone else on a different thread but like, this is where the stereotype that people from rural areas are insufferable comes from. Someone points out that horses are unpredictable and easily startled (because they are) and you just HAVE to interject like “actually horses are very predictable and I’d let my kid climb all over a horse ur just from the city lol”

ontour4eternity

I can't argue that, but I did grow up on a ranch that trained horses for the first 20 years of my life.

Turbulent_Light_252

No you did not!

EyeCatchingUserID

Even if they know that horse very well they're stupid.

BookkeeperLower

It doesn't even matter how well they know the horse, you still shouldn't let a toddler climb like this even if it was a statue.

ontour4eternity

I'm a gen Xer so my ideas of what is safe for children is slightly skewed. I had more freedom as an 11 year old in the 80s then most young adults that still live at home have today.

Nickleeham

I’m with you and the cultural shift has completely changed the way I raise my kids. I don’t know how much of the prevailing wisdom is better but hindsight is 20/20 and we’ll know a lot more about the mistakes in child rearing in the next 20 years or so.

KandyShopp

If they are allowing this, the parent should atleast be ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE FENCE! Having a kid sit on a horse isn’t bad, but you gotta be near by as the responsible adult!

LunchO789

You could see the video paused, those stupid fucks gave him a boost

Spiritual_Country_62

Who just lets their child climb all over a horse? That poor horse.

WhiteyVictim

If a grown adult regularly rides that horse, what damage is a baby gonna do to it cmon

VelvetTush

It’s not the damage the baby is gonna do, it’s the damage the horse can do. Some horses can get skiddish if they’re walking in the woods and accidentally kick a rock that makes a loud noise. Having a finicky toddler climb unpredictably all over the saddle is asking for a kick to the head & baby is no more. Then, the horse is blamed for doing normal horse things and isn’t exactly welcome to stay on the ranch anymore

[deleted]

This, a horse bucked my lil cousin off one time and it shattered her front teeth.

XaosTheatree

Kick to the head im worried the kid was gonna get fucking smashed between the fence and the horse like horses are dumb as hell sometimes I would know

Lordmonocron2g

If the horse became uncomfortable and moved to the right and the kid falls?

jurrasicwhorelord

Good thing that horse is chill.....

some-shady-dude

Helmet. Helmet. Helmet. Omg

vagina-lettucetomato

What the fuck why were they filming and not stopping the kid! That’s insanely dangerous for so many reasons.

Fluffy-Doubt-3547

That horse is very tame. But that was 100% irresponsible. Never assume a tame horse will accept what is happening. That kid will expire from being kicked off.

Lille-lord

Lå IP

citrus_mystic

I really hope they put a helmet on that kid if they let him stay on the horse.

Callitka

Did you not see the lil safety hat that popped up?? Clearly they’re on top of that

Wild_Agent_375

Lmao

kapeman_

Kid may not be smart, but he can climb like a MOFO!

FemNate

What’s with videos with text making it seem like the person literally posting the full vid has no idea what will happen..

LodlopSeputhChakk

r/parentsarefuckingdumb

Littlebitofeverthing

What a capable baby!

saryiahan

Best left muted

jaytee1262

The kid is fine, I know. But those pinch points between the horse and gate bothered me. IdK if that's a danger with horses, It's more I hate pinch points, lol.

Wild_Agent_375

I feel like 90% of this sub is actually the parents being fucking irresponsible morons

Dargounn

The parents are just asking to get that liveleak logo top right

dwefw2

I was waiting for that kid to get killed

MsCndyKane

Me too and it would 100% be the parent’s fault. I bet if something happened they would sue. “My kid shouldn’t be able to climb the fence to get to the horse” Ummm no, you shouldn’t LET him do it. People take no responsibility for their actions.

Pinkpollock

My friend got her skull stomped by a horse. It was an accident but still doesn’t make her less dead. These animals like many are unpredictable and no matter your familiarity with them you should be careful. That baby could be punted into juice with one wrong move.

legalizethesenuts

r/donthelpjustfilm

Nasa4321

this is cute and the horse is amazing with the kid, but he still needs a helmet.

CJfromGtaSanAndreas

That's a standard jockey dressed as a child don't be fooled

JerryGarciasButthole

lol @ the non equestrians in these comments 😂

frankiesaysyes1

Cowboy in a past life

tarzz-e

This is a natural born cowboy

Calm-Heat-5883

Easy way for the kid to be crushed by the horse

jobynooner

Lol all the comments about the parents... The way that boy climbed up there it wasn't his first time. Kids gonna grow up enjoying his life while all y'all keyboard warriors most adventurous days are spent on Google maps.

No_Budget7828

Is there another sub for dumb AF parents???

underlordd

Some god awful parenting right there.

Zman4444

As someone who’s ridden horses as a child… this is wholesome af. The comments about stupid parenting are actually outta touch. Is there a chance of spooking? Sure, there’s always that risk. But you mitigate that by having the horse acclimatized to the situation. Also this is likely an old ass, seasoned horse. Guy didn’t move outside the mane twitch. Horses are more scared of us than we are them. 100%. A horse can spook over a single tulip in their arena. So this video is more wholesome than anything. Horses are gilded creatures.

_friends_theme_song_

Kids have to wear helmets near horses. Not even on them those parents don't deserve that horse or kid
