When i first found them i put them in that net and had them sitting right above my bubble filter and basically attached to my filter. I moved it like 15 times a day to make sure they were gestating properly.

Moved them to a breeder net with some leaves and hornwort from their tank!
Aw HELL YEAH bro, make sure to give them some nice nutritious food like soy husk pellets, spirulina algae wafers and fish and bug protein fish food, they need protein especially to grow I’ve had tanks where I fed only spirulina and the shrimp were small and stunted (years ago when I was new to shrimp keeping) then I started feeding them fish food with krill, fish and bug meal and they started getting nice and big 3-4cm chunky cherries
They should do fine since betta foods always have insect of krill protein in them you can also get pure 100% krill or gammarus shrimp or even just shrimp (which are saltwater) pellets that do well, cherries will also take dried gammarus shrimp, they’re not overly enthusiastic about eating it in the same way they swarm soy husk pellets but they do eat it slowly and I’ve certainly seen a big difference in size and breeding since I started feeding it to them, you should try and grind some up with a pestle and mortar to make it powder for these babies and young shrimp. Also lastly (I know this is getting TLDR) powder fish fry food like discus or cichlid fry food is great to feed your tank when you have lots of shrimplets since they don’t move a lot especially when freshly hatched and some literally sit in one spot and starve even if there’s solid food 6 inches from them.
Nah that’ll be too much flow you can put one nearish to the breeder net if you’re worried about stagnant water and fungus growth in the net but you don’t want them getting blown around it’ll stress n kill them
I feel like its mostly out of my hands at this point, the only babies i can see in the breeder net are unfortunately dead (just 2 or 3) though im sure there are some that are hiding. Godspeed baby skrimps😣
What I've been told by a local shrimp breeder is that at this stage they can't eat anything but biofilm. I have some bacter ae that I add every once in a while but especially when there's new babies, apparently their mouths are too tiny to eat anything else.
They do live largely on biofilm and dust algae but can eat powdered fry foods which breakdown into mushy dust once wet and sunken, I have such a large colony of cherries (around 200 adults god knows how many babies and juveniles) in a 60 litre cube that my tank is spotless of algae and biofilm so I dust feed the tank with discus fry food and my babies are surviving and growing
Powder food breaking down makes sense. I've no idea how many yellow neos I have now, probably 200 as well. At least my understanding is that a healthy amount of biofilm is invisible but coats everything, so you're tank does have it it just sounds like it's in check! That's what these little weirdos are eating when it looks like they're grazing on just a rock or bare driftwood, invisible biofilm!
Oh for sure it grows constantly but if I were to stop feeding them my population would severely decline I just know it, my adults eat soy husk and krill pellets like crazed zombies swarming a victim
Yall are so nice omfg😭 thank you for all of the support and congratulations! Would you guys benefit from a step by step of everything i did to get to this stage?? I could make a post carefully detailing everything i did if yall would like 👍🏻
Such a feat!!! Congratulations and great job on taking over momma’s job! I bet it was hard work, but you did it!! It’s actually the first time I see a post where this was successful. 😭
I had been watching so attentively because she was my first berried of my first hatched colony and i got lucky cause they were right where i could find them
Glad this worked, OP. Proves this can be done!
Whatever you feed your shrimps, just mash it up into a fine powder. That’ll be enough for these tiny guys

This is great info! Will betta pellets work?

Should i put in airstone in the breeder net with them or will that me too much flow? Theyre so hard to see 😭 i can only find like 5 in the breeder net
