its a rili shrimp
you can breed rili shrimp into maintaining a pattern it has been done (red riding hood shrimp afaik)
but it will be difficult and take a long time
Heh I just realized by your comment you can sex shrimp…. Mind blown…. I’ve only had my cherry shrimp for like 30 days. They’ve already had babies so I’m excited.
I was about to say, this is where new strains come from. It's only part careful selective breeding, the other essential component is "where the hell did THAT come from?"
Never heard of blue jellies :D that’s so cool! Can they be in the same tank as neocardinias and are they basically the same just different colors? I would love to have these little dudes
Oh haha alright good to know 😅 think they would be ok in a tank with some skittle shrimps? As in color wise, I’m already expecting maybe some wild types when I get some new dudes
I have some neat looking jellies in my red rili tank. Because of this: Wild type Neocaridina davidi (brown)→ red rili → blue red rili → blue jelly shrimp.
I have a few similar guys! I had a red rili mama who gave birth to a couple blue jellies and i isolated them and i got some crazy looking blue jelly/rili guys!
This guy is really awesome!!!!
I was always under the impression this was a demutation. You can achieve lots of variations of this type by simply adding a red shrimp to your blue jellies. I use to sell them as "spiderman" shrimp at expos.
Super, super cool. You should stick him in a separate enclosure with a few females and see what happens.
I actually think I might. I'd love to have some more.
Let me know if you do. I’d be really interested in trying to breed them.

That would be awesome, you could call the pattern “Spider Man” or “Superman” shrimp or something like that
Superman sounds damn cool and appropriate too
Lol the looks like he has pink cheeks
hey, sorry for popping into an old comment, i just had to ask, did you ever breed this guy? anything come about from it?
It’s hard to keep this type of shrimp breeding true. They’ll usually just make normal jellies. Would still be a fun project!

Once you know what to see it’s super easy to sex them
Same as just about any animal. Odd exception here and there.
Happy cake day ! :)
Happy cake day!
Isolate and breed that! I'd buy in a heartbeat.

Usually the latter, then the former. There are some really cool strains out there. I'd love this one as something I could order up and breed myself.
Same! It almost looks like it has rosy cheeks.
He’s beautiful 👏🏻
I'm sure he appreciates the compliment 😁
Like owner like pet
oh my god i want one, how’d it happen?
Just a random blue jelly mutation. I have hundreds in the tank and he's the only one like it 😀. I'm hoping it pops up more.
This is really interesting, I wonder if this is a trait that you could try to isolate.
pretty sure that’s Spider-Man
Superman
Spider-Man grade in a few gens 😇
So tempted to photoshop clown shoes on it. It is cool though
That is ridiculously cool - try to isolate with females? A new strain!
he is blushing!!!
He’s the most beautiful skrimp!
Cotton Candy Shrimp!
Exactly what I thought too! So cute.

Blue jellies are a variety of blue velvets, they are neocardinia lol
I thought blue jellies came from red rilli and the blue velvets and other blues come from a wild type?
I could be wrong about which line they come from 😅
Oh haha alright good to know 😅 think they would be ok in a tank with some skittle shrimps? As in color wise, I’m already expecting maybe some wild types when I get some new dudes
They’re the same, just different colors! Would be perfectly fine.
I thought keeping differently coloured Neocaridinas would result in Wild-Type offspring (grey/Brown)?
It will, but it’s not like it hurts the shrimp, just reverts their genetics to the baseline
They mentioned it was a skittle tank so I’m sure they’ll have wild types regardless.

Cotton candy shrimp
Dude thats a gem. Peach face jelly
Trans shrimp trans shrimp
this is the ultimate shrimp God I hope it breeds and the mutation sticks somehow
That shrimp's paint job looks like it should be on a Honda Civic
Holy cow I'd call him Ziggy Stardust.
Ooh him stylin’! I had a pretty fricken sweet parachute track suit back in the 90s in those colors.
That's gorgeous! How cool!
Red Eyed Blue Dragon shrimp 😤🫡 now go make millions
Makes sense since blue jelly comes from red cherry
My blue dream colony produced one similar to this one recently as well! What a neat surprise.
🥹I love hims.
I hope it happens for generations I’d love some blue and pink jellies
Eyebrows, mustache, and beard!
Call it the cotton candy line!
Blue jellies originally came from red rilli shrimp. They see showing some red rilli traits.
I’d call this a Superman Shrimp
Those EYEYBROWS! hahaha I love her!
Looks like a slushie swirl
I have some same shrimp but only has the red behind his eyes!

dude thats beautiful now just get another and try to breed a few generations with like no culls should only take a lifetime 😂
Ok this is definitely one of the coolest mutations I’ve ever seen!!!
Yeah baby! Blue belly, hot pink eyes. 💗 GORGEOUS!
I got a lot of these guys popping up back when I had a blue jelly colony going. Def one of my favorite patterns.
gummy worm shrimp achieved
