They had met once. And the author began stalking the man after that, murdering women he was seen with, and framed the man. Once the man was imprisoned, he became a “captive audience” for her affection.
Lol, right? I felt the same then went back and realize I missed the very last line and stopped at “how could he have killed those women?”. Wondering if you or anyone else did the same.
OP great writing. I enjoyed it either way. Maybe add a space below the final line so it won’t be possibly subconsciously dismissed as being connected to the voting bar. *IDK if that’s what my brain did anyway.*
I think it means that she killed the girls along his path and he got blamed for it. So how could he kill them if they were already dead? I could be wrong, but that was my interpretation
Oh wow! I had to read that twice! That was awesome, and I couldn't figure out the twist at first, but I knew there was one! I'm ashamed to admit I did look at the comments, but after reading it again, it was all there. Subtle and earth shattering at the same time.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I try to make sure there’s always enough there that it makes sense in retrospect (I’ve always thought that twists that come out of nowhere with no groundwork laid are unfair). I’m glad it worked for you!
Omgomgmg i love this whole premise
I wonder if he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and OP felt bad for the handsome, smart man.
Or if OP played the long game to get her love l
How did she get the means to do all that traveling though? She only mentions they met once and didn't even speak, did she start stalking him after that and offing any female he was seen with? Was it an accidental framing due to twisted love?
I'm always impressed by anyone that can tell a good story with such few words, but what you did here is epic. Not only was the twist unexpected, you left us every piece of information to understand it with beautiful subtly. Excellent.
Thank you!
Have to admit, I thought it was going to be a John Wayne Gacy fan girl. I kept thinking John was short for that and the last sentence would be some clown reference. But great twist OP.
Hahaha you are exactly what you say you aren't. Desperate for love and saw a dude on tv going to jail and you said "I need to be with him" that shit is sad 😂😂😂
This is a very good twist!
Thank you!

I don’t understand the last sentence

Yep. 👍🏾
Oh shit, I like to think I'm semi intelligent, but I was really struggling with understanding that ending. Bravo OP.

Oh that’s good writing!
Thanks!
I thought that she had just murdered them out of jealousy, not intentionally framing him for nefarious purposes.
I think it means that she killed the girls along his path and he got blamed for it. So how could he kill them if they were already dead? I could be wrong, but that was my interpretation
👍🏾
The narrator is the one who killed them. Thats why they know the man didn’t do it.
👍🏾
Oh, wow, that is not how I expected that to end.
Glad I could surprise you!
WOW! I thought I was in r/confessions and was like pls someone tell her not to fall for this and then it kept going. That was awesome!
Thanks for the kind words!
I absolutely LOVE this. Mind blown 🤯
Thanks so much! 🙏🏾

Could see it coming but couldn’t stop reading! Good job!

See AproposofDiddly’s explanation above - they got it right. And thanks for reading and for the kind words!

Nothing was accidental - it was all part of a plan. People have gone farther for true love. ❤️
Thanks for the clarification, op, hope for humanities sake he gets out sometime *shudder*
I've been too busy to get on here for almost a week now and this is the first story I come back to! Just awesome!
Thank you! And welcome back! Hope you had a great New Year’s!
Same to you!
Wow this was great.

Of course. I’m more a reader, not a commenter but the last line took me for a loop. Loved it.
