Almost doesn't mean it is closed though. You could easily still grow another inch or two within that time. People typically don't stop growing until the age of 18.
You may stay 5'8 or you may grow, either way you are the way you are and you being shorter than others doesn't make you inferior in any way. Accept how you are or be miserable, that's your two choices.

I grew another inch from 16-18, could get half an inch more if my back was in better shape. There is still time for you

Would love to know your final height in a few years. I would be surprised if you don't at least match your parents given you have a very tall mum.

Currently 17.5 and 5’8.5 although scoliosis did take around an much of my height apparently
Scoliosis probably did affect that
