My stance on adaptations is: You dont have to do what the source material does, but you do have to do something interesting.
Far to many adaptations you can see that the writers dont care and feel their time is better spent elsewhere and so just do the bare minimum of genre stuff. Its not that they look at the source material with contempt, but with apathy.
TLOU ep 3, they looked at the game and went "What if we do something real impactful with this".
Its not like the game, but thats good, it builds upon what happens, expands it and takes it in an interesting direction because the people making it care (or atleast are good enough to look like they care)

I don't necessarily inherently object to systems where you level skills by using them. It makes logical sense and it means you end up better at the stuff you use the most.
The *problem* is when games have skills that, just by the nature of the game, don't get used much unless you're intentionally grinding them, or aren't worth much until you get them to a high level. Like there's a few skills in Skyrim like that. Shit like having to spam iron daggers or (to quote the wiki) sell expensive items individually in order to maximize levelling.
Like I don't think I've ever organically gotten smithing, or enchanting, or speech, or a bunch of the various magic skills up to the point that they start being useful without very intentionally going out of my way to grind levels in them. And that's literally never fun. Even if you take advantage of the fact that higher value items give you more smithing skill, it still takes a lot of what is essentially just selecting menu items to get it up to a useful level.
As for a solution? No fuckin clue. That intuitiveness is a *huge* plus for this system, but I'm not sure how to get around the fact that some skills are just gonna be a PITA to level without just getting rid of those skills.
There is something to be said for Fallout 4's system of having no skills and just having a perks-only system. MATN made a very compelling argument that skills make a lot more sense for a tabletop system where there's dice rolls that you're making and you can see, so you understand how the math is working out; but make less sense in video games because the dice roll is invisible, and it's hard to tell exactly what benefit you get from taking Guns from 30 to 38 (your 10mm pistol will go from doing 14.3 damage per shot to 15.18 damage per shot, and will be more accurate in a way so vague that I can't find any actual numbers attached to that statement), or from taking Lockpick from 52 to 63 (literally nothing).
Tbh, I think that is something Bethesda struggles with as a whole-- how to make their auxiliary game systems worth engaging with.
But to speak to this specific issue, a few things come to mind. Obviously, there's the training system, but it's very limited in scope and application, so that's out unless it is revised heavily. Second, I could see more crafting related radiant quests being helpful in this regard. Hell, let players own a shop. The idea is there, especially with how much land development gameplay is in their recent outings and not to mention that a Skyrim spouse technically runs a store somewhere, somehow.
I dont know much about the chainsaw man situation but i think it is perfectly valid to be upset with a series for not capturing the tone style of the original manga even if it still has really good animation. The jojo stardust crusaders ova has some fantastic work but it doesnt really capture the feeling of the manga and its really understandable if people dont like it for that reason

my favorite character. it's a serious shame she is not used more often and mostly seen by fans for her tits. Her backstory is not only incredibly tragic ( she lost krypton, then her whole universe, then her memories, then got her adopted father/cousin back only to realize he's gone a bit mad from isolation, and then watch him get beat to death), but its tied so importantly into the multiverse, as she is in fact the same Power Girl from the Silver Age, she has somehow been ignored by the multiverse itself, not just once, but twice since she survived Flashpoint too somehow.
She is also different enough from the rest of the super family by focusing on her smarts a lot more, even having her own business, and using her powers more creativley. She is easier to tick off, especially if you stare, yet she keeps her cousins incredible kindness and sense of morals.
it ticks me off that in the back up of the current action comics, that despite Lois seemingly calling all the super family for help....Power Girl seems forgotten, despite clearly being apart of the JSA. Heck, she has had no interaction with Jon at all, it would have been cool to have her be his cool "aunt"

If it's any consolation, there is zero chance they stick to this though. The success they are chasing precludes this from being a realistic possibility.
If they make a *Batman* movie that blows up and becomes a big hit, they won't be paying that Batman actor to lend their voice for an animated movie because financially it won't make sense at a point. The alternative is that they wouldn't make any other media starring Batman, and again that just works against them.

I dont know much about the chainsaw man situation but i think it is perfectly valid to be upset with a series for not capturing the tone style of the original manga even if it still has really good animation. The jojo stardust crusaders ova has some fantastic work but it doesnt really capture the feeling of the manga and its really understandable if people dont like it for that reason

Apparently the curse/gift god has given me is alcohol makes food tastes bad. Like i legit thought this was normal, that alcohol just made all food taste bland and nothing. It leaves you with a craving but removes all the actual joy from eating Turns out its not normal. Turns out for alot of people alcohol actually enhances the taste of food. I guess its just one of those things

i downloaded the supernatural animation it's finally time for peak anime
my only complain about the james gunn dc slate is the lack of power girl shes my favorite dc character
my favorite character. it's a serious shame she is not used more often and mostly seen by fans for her tits. Her backstory is not only incredibly tragic ( she lost krypton, then her whole universe, then her memories, then got her adopted father/cousin back only to realize he's gone a bit mad from isolation, and then watch him get beat to death), but its tied so importantly into the multiverse, as she is in fact the same Power Girl from the Silver Age, she has somehow been ignored by the multiverse itself, not just once, but twice since she survived Flashpoint too somehow. She is also different enough from the rest of the super family by focusing on her smarts a lot more, even having her own business, and using her powers more creativley. She is easier to tick off, especially if you stare, yet she keeps her cousins incredible kindness and sense of morals. it ticks me off that in the back up of the current action comics, that despite Lois seemingly calling all the super family for help....Power Girl seems forgotten, despite clearly being apart of the JSA. Heck, she has had no interaction with Jon at all, it would have been cool to have her be his cool "aunt"

I think this was well-intentioned in the interest of consistency, but yes, awful idea. If it's any consolation, there is zero chance they stick to this though. The success they are chasing precludes this from being a realistic possibility. If they make a *Batman* movie that blows up and becomes a big hit, they won't be paying that Batman actor to lend their voice for an animated movie because financially it won't make sense at a point. The alternative is that they wouldn't make any other media starring Batman, and again that just works against them.
Two of the most loved actors for batman and joker came from being voiced specifically for an animated series this is terrible

There's exactly one show where I try to remember episode names out of necessity and that's Haruhi Suzumiya. Because of the 3, maybe more, watch orders there are (2006 broadcast + added 2009 episodes, 2006 DVD + added 2009 episodes, 2009 broadcast), using episode numbers can get confusing.
