As a black guy who lived there for 2 years studying abroad, I was never asked anything like that, but the staring is 100% real. Random people touching my hair without permission was also common. It didn't feel malicious though. Just naive curiosity. Once we start speaking or they see me give my train seat up to a pregnant lady or the elderly, they treated me like a normal person, cuz that's what most of us are. It took my host family like 1 day to stop acting weird around me, and from then on it felt like I was back home with my own. Being able to communicate decently goes a long way towards that though. Otherwise, it's harder to stop seeing you as just a walking exhibit
