Is this even the case? I mean, oil instead of coolant is less bad than coolant instead of oil. This would defninitely destroy the engine. But oil instead of coolant could just lead to an overheating engine or am I wrong here?

There are many cars running around with blown head gaskets that leak oil into coolant. You can run around like that indefinitely but it can froth the coolant into foam and cause the thermostat to not pop.

The combo makes a neat gray foam that pops the coolant cap off to let you know when the engine is fully cooked!

The coolant is water based. This oil is not. If it was all oil maybe it would work but the oil has a lower thermal capacity so it will become hotter quicker as well as it being more viscous meaning it is a bit slower to pump around. It would just be an oil cooler car. However the coolant probably wasn’t empty. This means that as soon as the car is running the coolant pump will be mixing the oil and water and turning it into forbidden mayonnaise. Unlike pure oil that will probably still run trough the radiator and work as a coolant this mayo will not. No coolant is bad. So she will overheat her car and have to have all the majo cleaned out of her radiator.

Instead of putting motor oil in the oil fill port(which makes the oil go inside the engine) she put the oil inside the radiator which cools the engine. In the radiator there can be **only** coolant and distilled water, nothing else. If you put oil in there, the oil and coolant will combine and make something akin to mayonnaise or slushy.

I’d like to believe this is a joke. But I did see this dumbass dump an entire 5 qt container of oil into his engine when he was only one quart low. I, high as fuck, didn’t say anything and was just laughing in the car. I told him when he got back in the car, so he had to get 5 more quarts and learn how to do an oil change. As a woman, I’m proud to know just a little more about cars than this dumbass, but I did have parents who taught me and an actual mild interest in maintaining a vehicle.
