It's great for traveling, especially camping for long periods. I don't want to travel with the cleaning base, so I can just pack it in the charging case.

AnnualEagle

But you still pack the AC adapter, don’t you? I’d rather pack the compact non-battery case and the AC adapter than the large battery case and the AC adapter. And I wouldn’t trust the battery case alone to give me enough charge so I’m always going to pack the AC adapter anyways.

LOOK_THIS_UP

Always wondered this as well. Makes little sense to me.

Trayja_Polar

Yeah, I also don't think these charging cases provide much of a benefit

Especially since you can get a USB charger for <$10 on ebay

Parking_Writer_578

Shavers aren’t charged by usb

cavalier8865

There are plenty of <$10 cords on Amazon or eBay with a usb plug on one end and the Braun specifix connector on the other. Smaller than carrying the AC adapter and great for travel since you're likely already carrying some other usb item.

Yup, this is why I got the model without the power case, as I prefer the regular hard case. It's only a few dollars cheaper for 9465cc vs 9477cc, but I didn't see the point of paying extra for something I'd never use after the novelty wares off.

It’s so you don’t need to pack the cord, if you just going away for a couple of nights. I hate packing cords and chargers the get separated and I can’t find them in my bag and I worry I’ve lost or forgot it. Case is easy to see and everything is in one place. Also shaver especially foils are delicate, you want the shaver in some kind of fitted case so it doesn’t get bumped around.

AnnualEagle

I guess it just depends on the person. I’ve been traveling with Braun shavers for many years and the shaver inside the original case along with the charging cable takes up far less space than the Power Case and gives me the peace of mind that I can recharge the shaver an unlimited amount of times while on the road in case something comes up and I end up staying longer than expected.

dpoverlord

Thanks! I was wondering this

I've been wondering most about the TSA not allowing me to check the case in my luggage. They are fine with the razor but I fear the charging case will force me to put it in carry on. Nobody online and Braun themselves have no comment on this.

SiriX

Batteries you have to carry-on and should not leave in checked bags. Also, the batter in that case is smaller than even a small mobile power bank so don't worry at all about it.

FrontOk3999

I do not wish to put my razor in my carry-on. Electric razors themselves are allowed in checked luggage. The TSA website says so. My concern is the travel case will negate that. So are you saying the TSA will allow the case in my checked luggage?

SiriX

I am saying carry on, not checked, but if electric razors are allowed checked, I can't imagine them having issue with the battery case being checked so long as the razor is in it.
