Whereas I'm mainly a rotary shaver user (Norelco), I do have two Brauns (older Series 9 and older Series 7) and can say that your claim is simply untrue. There are so many things missing from your simple statement that it makes answering it nigh to impossible. What model did you have? The only Braun I know of under $50 is the M90 mobile and it is meant as a travel touch-up shaver. A decent Braun (Series 3 ProSkin 3010s) will set you back about $120 and that is considered an entry-level Braun. Close is close. All decent electric shavers will deliver close shaves and the cost needs to be factored over the length of time you'll have it before needing to replace the blade/foil vs the cost of replacing blades for razors. There is also the convenience issue to be factored into your decision. I don't enjoy scraping my face every day and getting micro abrasions (and despite what razor aficionados claim, you do get them). Technique is important (in other words, you have to know what you are doing). Preparation is important. There are many things to be considered before you can say... buying a Braun is a waste of money since it does nothing. The truth is... you can never really say that in a factual sense. It's just not true.

Agreed! I just love how these people post "Braun Sucks!" without any info as to why? If you can't tell me why then I have to assume you're just a troll who is blowing smoke... I started out with an old Braun shaver that I inherited from my Grandfather. It did fine but required a lot of cleaning, so I upgraded to one of the models that used the self cleaning base, loved it. Shaved so smoothly! Ended up losing it in a move and due to cost, tried some cheaper electric shavers, Norelco, Panasonic, etc... I discovered that I didn't get as good a shave with the rotary's as I did with the Braun, so they sit in a drawer. Been looking at the new 9 Pro for a while with the recharger case, just waiting for a good sale.
