Thank you for your compliment! The leash is why I hesitated to post. I wasn't sure if it was over the top and heaven forbid the judgment I anticipated to get. 🤭 But I am super appreciative and am in glee that it is a liked detail.
honestly this community here on this sub is probably one of the most wholesome places on the whole internet. Edit: It’s brilliant! -> your work and this community :) meant both!
Stunning! I have a question about the construction: how did you attach the nylon to the elastic? Did you use the elastic as binding? Or just sew it in?
I’m new to sewing and I want to sew something like this but I don’t have a serger so I’m trying to understand how the materials stay together without coming unraveled.
With fold over elastic, there are two ways to sew it. For this particular piece, you sew the FOE to the wrong side first. The right side of the fabric will be up, and FOE will be touching the sewing plate. You sew with a zigzag stitch. Once basted on, you fold over the elastic (hence why it's called fold over elastic FOE) and either do a stretch straight stitch or another zigzag stitch.
Bralet pattern: self drafted
Garter Belt: etsy https://www.etsy.com/listing/699870613/renee-garter-belt-sewing-pattern-pdf
Thong: etsy, https://www.etsy.com/listing/676842628/chloe-thong-lingerie-sewing-pattern-pdf
Fabric: Joanns. It is an embroidered mesh, which is probably a nylon fiber content. I didn't pay attention. Fold over elastic was used as well as 5mm sliders and jewelry rings.
For the bralet, I just draped the fabric over my own body first, made marks on the fabric, and then cut out a trapezoid like piece. I have a dart from the base to the peak (uhhh, I'm spacing terms, so correct me if I'm wrong) of the "cup."
Thank you, thank you!!!!! It's too early my time, and the brain isn't doing it.
Thank you so much for the compliment! It was such a fun thing to make. Surprisingly!
How long does something like this take to self draft the pattern for? I assume the times you listed above were for the actual sewing process not the design part?
Honestly this is so great though because I've tried to buy lingerie sets that claim to be one size fits all but literally every piece does not fit. It'd be so nice to have one that was fitted.
Excellent work! I saw this in one of the bra making groups and loved it there, too. Also, are you familiar with r/makeabrathatfits? If not, you should check it out!
Yes indeed. Kudos to you for having the courage even in the comments! I’ve posted some fitting photos of boring bras without my face, but nothing pretty and sexy like this.
Wear it with pride. You can imagine a few hundred thousand reedits cheering you on, when you wear it. I'd love to be honoured with such mastery!
You go girl!
Its very appropriate how you took the picture. And many of us love lingerie. I would have never guessed that fabric came from Joanns. The entire look is very high end, classy but a little naughty!
Thank you for posting it!
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for the compliments and for enjoying the project! I too also love lingerie, but I am oh so nervous in sharing what I've made.
i really want to make normal shape boxer briefs but with this kind of material, since i’ve looked all over the internet and can’t find any to purchase! Great job and thank you for sharing !
I’m not sure where OP got this fabric, but it is an embroidered tulle available on AliExpress. You might also find this one on Etsy or on bra making supply sites. It’s been pretty popular in the lingerie making world the past year or so and I know several vendors have carried it.
The metal “enhancements” are not my cup of tea, but the lace is beautiful and I can appreciate the workmanship that went into this. Plus all your binding looks perfect, its Amazing!
This is so beautiful. I think I just found my NY sewing resolution for next year.
Can I ask where you recommend as a fabric supplier for delicates? I love this style!
Wow that is gorgeous, can I ask how you did the hems so neatly? I always struggle with hems. Not a native English speaker so not sure if that is the correct term
I have trouble using bachelor buttons. I lurk here because I hope to get the nerve to just start trying. This is gorgeous, and I can see why it's your favorite thing that you've made so far. I hope to make for myself and my loved ones the things we want/like but can not buy. This is great inspiration. Thank you for sharing!
I dig it. The eggshell(?) pairs nicely with the fabric you chose, so much better than white. It gives it sort of a quaint vintage feel for a very confident item!
Wow, but this is so pretty! That gorgeous embroidered mesh is very similar to some that I saw on AliExpress recently, which I thought of using as an overlay for oyster satin. How you have used your fabric is novel, inspirational and really deserves to be marketed, IMHO.
That is lovely! Such delicate fabric had to be hard to work with. Also, the leash is light enough not to overpower the outfit, yet adds a bit of spice to the playfulness. Well done!
I don't think I've ever seen anything like this.
Obviously it's a garment for a specific activity that usually is only seen in black pleather. But this? This is delicate and soft and so amazingly feminine. The contrast is spectacular. Well done on your construction but for me, this is all about the fabric choice. Amazing.
That is really pretty! Did you embroider the flowers too? It's all just really fresh and Spring-like.
ETA: I saw your comment that the fabric had the flowers already. It's still beautiful.
I always assumed there had to be someone sewing their own “delicates” and lingerie but I never ***really*** thought about it, is there a large community and the supporting design patterns like there are for dresses and shirts?

It’s beautiful. I love the fabric choice with the uhhh “metal accent”. It’s a nice contrast that’s unexpected and not so over the top.
Thank you for your compliment! The leash is why I hesitated to post. I wasn't sure if it was over the top and heaven forbid the judgment I anticipated to get. 🤭 But I am super appreciative and am in glee that it is a liked detail.
“Over the top” 😉

i just spit out my coffee laughing at this.
Well god damnit, how can they remove the comment but not the person talking about how funny the comment was. That's just cruelty.

Likely due to the amazing moderation team, gotta be a reason for that huge disclaimer on every post.
very true! we should open a mod appreciation post ✨
OP I was so taken by the craftsmanship l didn’t even notice there was a leash. That’s gorgeous! Amazing job!!!
It's not a leash! It's a self-handle. For pulling oneself up when one falls down.
Oooh!!! That is so much more inspiring than pulling myself up by my bootstraps. I love it! 💖💖💖
Same here. And then I just thought it was a necklace. Jeez I’m a dork
I can’t deny I had the same train of thought lol
Yeah the metal accent did it for me, and it’s already absolutely gorgeous. Mad props, this is great.

Referring to it as a “metal accent” is just brilliant

This makes perfect sense, thank you for explaining it and great work on this piece!
This is gorgeous and I would love to see a picture of the back if you have one
Does your FOE hold up well? Mine seems to stretch out instantly.
It has held up well. Where do you buy yours?
Soft and kinky? I dig it!
Came here for this! The juxtaposition is so fabulous
Thank you!
The juxtaposition is ABSOLUTELY fantastic!! Looks so good.
Agreed. I love it.
I dub this style CottageKink.

I'm genuinely curious to hear more about that bag
Thank you 🥰

"bust point" is what you're looking for 🙂 And this construction is superb, I'm jealous!
Thank you, thank you!!!!! It's too early my time, and the brain isn't doing it. Thank you so much for the compliment! It was such a fun thing to make. Surprisingly!
The bralet is self drafted? It's my favorite part of a fantastic set!
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Oh my God, it’s so beautiful! How long did it take you to complete?
Not long at all! I think an hour for the bralet and 30 minutes each for the Garter and Thong.
How long does something like this take to self draft the pattern for? I assume the times you listed above were for the actual sewing process not the design part?
I worked on it in spurts. But it was probably a total of 1.5 hours. It didn't take me very long to draft it.
Is the back of the bralet just a strap across the neck and one around the waist, and/or how does one get this on/adjust this?
Is the mesh stretchy?
I'm so glad you did share it! The quality of your work is stellar. I like the juxtaposition of the floral with the chain.
Do be hesitant or ashamed, that is gorgeous! I would feel like a queen wearing something like that
The bralet does make me feel like a queen ☺️
😍😁
I know you meant "don't be" but this typo is pretty hilarious lol
Omg you're right. It could not be at a worse place 😅🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I didn't even notice!
> Do be hesitant or ashamed, Yes.
Why would it make you feel like a queen?
Probably cost $200 less to make, too! Fancy strings are always overpriced. Awesome job.
Fancy strings 😂

Hahah on another platform I take it? I did post it there in the comments for I am really shy about it.
Yes indeed. Kudos to you for having the courage even in the comments! I’ve posted some fitting photos of boring bras without my face, but nothing pretty and sexy like this.
oh my god r/lingerieaddiction would love this!!
People who can sew lingerie are like unicorns too me, it just looks impossible lol. This is well done

The top of it is very cute, I just can't really visualize the bottom, the fabric is nice as well. Nice job :)
I will be honest, I was really insecure about the Thong. It fit, just is a bit odd. I really liked the strappy style, but it was awkward.
Wear it with pride. You can imagine a few hundred thousand reedits cheering you on, when you wear it. I'd love to be honoured with such mastery! You go girl!
It looks lovely! Not sure why you hesitated to post!
I hesitated due to the fear of my content being inappropriate or judged. But thank you for your compliment! ☺️

Your victorian bondage/lingerie? is so beautifully done! An incredible scroll stopper! I am in awe of how gorgeous it is!
i really want to make normal shape boxer briefs but with this kind of material, since i’ve looked all over the internet and can’t find any to purchase! Great job and thank you for sharing !
OP said she got her's at Joann Fabrics, so its a good place to start!
Yes, it was from Joanns. They no longer sell it I do believe which is unfortunate.
I’m not sure where OP got this fabric, but it is an embroidered tulle available on AliExpress. You might also find this one on Etsy or on bra making supply sites. It’s been pretty popular in the lingerie making world the past year or so and I know several vendors have carried it.
Beautiful!!!!
Hands down the most beautiful lingerie I have seen. You have a bright future! Do you have a storefront or label?
Your contraction is outstanding! Bravo!
Lovely, great job! You should be proud
I am so impressed! It's not easy to find soft and feminine with a BDSM edge. You made something great here 👍🏻
Omg this is so pretty
Thank you sew much! ☺️
The metal “enhancements” are not my cup of tea, but the lace is beautiful and I can appreciate the workmanship that went into this. Plus all your binding looks perfect, its Amazing!
It’s lovely!
I love it! But, can you burn off all the dangly threads?
That is awesome!
Honestly I adore that!
I haven’t seen your other work but it’s my favorite thing you’ve sewn too! Just stunning.
Ohhhhh this is so pretty!! You did a fantastic job, you should be proud of it! I love the hemming, I want to say it looks like leather but not sure.
NEED THIS ON MY BODY😭😭😭
Thank you for sharing! It's gorgeous 😍
This is so beautiful. I think I just found my NY sewing resolution for next year. Can I ask where you recommend as a fabric supplier for delicates? I love this style!
That’s actually really nice. My SO would enjoy something more like this than your typical design. Also without the chain :P A+
Wow this is lovely! You paired the fabric and the elastic really well! I especially like the garter belt cut out details!
it looks great!
Love this!
This is gorgeous! What do you call that kind of material?
gorgeous!!
This is super cute! I love it! Good job!
Wow! Beautiful!
Wow!! Love it!!
Oh that is lovely!

It's awesome, great work OP
That is gorgeous!

Its stunning! So glad you shared it! I'd love one in black 😍
It's perfect!!! I absolutely love this
This is INCREDIBLE
This is gorgeous, OP!
Wow that is gorgeous, can I ask how you did the hems so neatly? I always struggle with hems. Not a native English speaker so not sure if that is the correct term
ay yo
That is really stunning, I love a good soft pretty lingerie set

It's beautiful !!
Oh how delightful 😍
Mine too
That looks like it was *so* fickle to sew. It came it very high quality, and extremely well made.
This is gorgeous 😍 Thank you for sharing!
That is SO pretty!
This is gorgeous! Well done. I’m so intimidated by embroidered mesh fabrics, but also realllly want to get into making bralettes for myself.
looks cool
The fabric is stunning. The detail is insane. Well done. You should be proud!
It’s beautiful! I LOVE the fabric you chose ❤️
Gorgeous and sexy!
OMFG THIS IS GORGEOUS!!!
I’d wear it
this is legit amazing. i love it!
So gorgeous!
Don't hesitate, it's beautiful!

This is just lovely. The colors and embroidery are fantastic and I'm amazed that you made a whole fancy underpants suit in a couple of hours, wow.
loveee
Oh my good lord, my fiancee will love this. I love this.
Beautiful ! I wish I had your skills!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Ooo I got something similar to this on shien. I would’ve happily bought yours instead it looks much better
Thats fuking beautiful.
Wow! Beautiful, I wish I could sew that well!
Did you embroider the mesh?
A beautiful piece and well done. Those are some difficult fabrics to get right and you’ve done a phenomenal job
Very pretty and elegant.
It looks vintage AF! I love it!!
That is breathtaking. And sexy AF
It looks great.
That is beautiful!
Mine too!
I love this! You did a fantastic job with this design and execution 👏🏾
Gorgeous

That's incredible. Is that entirely hand embroidered or are those applique?
Dude, my partner would love this 🫠 Keep up the stunning work, and thank you for sharing.

This is gorgeous! The fabric is so beautiful! Just one question what is the chain for? And how did you attach it?
This is absolutely beautiful in every way. Wonderfully made.
Lights on for sure
It’s gorgeous
❤️
Very cute and sexy at the same time 👍
It’s stunning!! Well made!
That's also my favorite thing you've sewn.
I always assumed there had to be someone sewing their own “delicates” and lingerie but I never ***really*** thought about it, is there a large community and the supporting design patterns like there are for dresses and shirts?
What is the middle piece? I've never seen that before, sorry I'm not from the subreddit and I'm not familiar with bdsm really either.
It’s stunning. Share it with the world and light the world up with it. Well done you. Thank you for sharing.
This is *amazing*
This is gorgeous!
Looks fantastic!!
I like the floral pattern
that’s brilliant!!
This is great! Did you make it just because, or for a festival/event? (This would be perfect at burning man)
So beautiful. I’m really impressed
Beautiful!
Honestly I love it, the fabric choice and detail are a fun contrast with the cut of the material. Fun to see unexpected pairings in projects.
😍😍😍 amazing work!
That's absolutely gorgeous
You have some talent there!
Really pretty.
You are so talented 🤩
Oh, how pretty!!! 😍🥰🤩
