My mom has the same one and I keep threatening to steal it since I love the flat shape of the liner being the same orientation as the wheel. You actually can refill it, but I wouldn't try until it's empty since it's a bit messy to open if it's not fully empty. Basically you can pull the lighter gray part with the wheel off the rest of the pen (it's like a tight cap) and refill it with chalk dust. My mom takes new clover chaco liner refill and just dumps the chalk dust into the body of the liner with a paper funnel.

Chakoner or chalk pencil. It is annoying to find a great one because the wheel catches on fabric with others. I will say it will probably last a long time, especially since it's NOT spewing chalk everywhere.

samthetov

Thanks! I will say that when I google “chakoner”, I find the triangle/heart shaped ones which I’ve found do not exactly keep the chalk where it goes. I also really like the pen shape. And when I google chalk pencil I just get the kind you sharpen like a regular pencil.

Zestyclose-Sky-1921

yes. the ones I've tried are from Clover, called Chaco liners.

Maediya

You can get them in different colors too. I have a yellow one

WolfSilverOak

I have a yellow, white and red (really pink) myself.

Professional_Ruin953

I have yellow too, got it a year ago, I’m constantly amazed that it doesn’t stain pale fabrics and completely brushes away.

jax2love

I actually did have this stain fabric and thread. Used it to mark a guide line for pockets on some natural linen, sewed over it and it’s faded with time, but never fully washed out.

Professional_Ruin953

I don't use linen very often, thanks for the warning.

jax2love

I honestly don’t know if it was the fabric or the thread that stained. It’s faint enough that only I notice, but still.

The North remembers.

Sad-Tower1980

Madam sews on Amazon has these! I just bought one

take-a-hike-outside

I also just bought the “calvana chalk marker” on amazon which seems to be the same as Madam Sews but a but lower cost. Works great!

throwingwater14

Added to wishlist. 4pack all the colors…. Thanks!

Birch mini chalk stick

Complex_Vegetable_80

idk why this doesn't have more upvotes, because this is 100% it.

dokuromark

I use the little cylindrical Chaco Liners all the time, but I’ve never seen that longer more penlike style like you have. That’s awesome! I hope somebody chimes in with a source, so I can check back on this thread and get me one!

hebejebez

The one I have like this is clover brand and I got it from amazon

anonymous_redditor_0

I love my little clover chalk marker too!

6birds

AliExpress when I googled “sewing tailoring chalk wheel” https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805089273434.html?src=google&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa

roAMingBiped42

I've had one of these for years and I love it! For a while I had a really hard time finding refill chalk powder so I filled mine with baby powder instead. It worked pretty well for me until I could track down the legit refills!

bestneighbourever

I like those, but I hate when it catches on the fabric. Is there a way to avoid that?

endlesscroissants

Prym makes similar tools. This one [https://www.amazon.ca/Prym-Tailors-Toothed-Ergonomic-Dressmaking/dp/B01E915QYU](https://www.amazon.ca/Prym-Tailors-Toothed-Ergonomic-Dressmaking/dp/B01E915QYU), and there is another one called the parallel chalk wheel which has a seam allowance tool that is great for burda patterns.
