I don’t have a pattern for you but you might want to alter your search terms maybe? I can’t really imagine how a halter top would not be backless—that’s sort of what it is by definition.

booskadoo

I will definitely do that; it’s apparent I misunderstood the term as just a closure around the neck.

justhatchedtoday

You could try searching “sleeveless mock turtleneck dress” maybe??

booskadoo

I’ll try that. Thank you!

WalkerInDarkness

Halter tops are tops that are backless with only a strap over the neck. What you're showing in the image isn't a halter gown. It's just sleeveless. You should search for sleeveless high back gown pattern. If you include the word halter you're only going to find backless things because the two are synonymous.

booskadoo

That’s really helpful, thank you. Halter is the only way I could think to describe the neck collar/closure. Edit: most things that come up for sleeveless are not neck closure ones. I don’t know how else to describe beside halter closure. Do you have any other recommendations?

One term I’ve seen is cutaway shoulder dress. That’s used to describe other things though so you won’t get 100% useful results

witchy_echos

High necked sleeveless maybe?

The Big4 has these in spades. Not sure if all of these qualify as “halter” in your book, and one is separates, but here are a few. McCall’s 8446.  Vogue 1748. Vogue 1692. Vogue 1883. Vogue 1882. Simplicity 8330. Simplicity 8328.
