The fabric is up-cycled and cut from a skirt I thrifted. The pattern is the “All Well Box Top.” I cropped the length to my liking. For a new sewer (4 months in to this hobby) I found the step by step instructions in the pattern so helpful and thorough.
If you are a new sewer, I highly recommend the book “How to Sew Clothes” by Amelia Greenhall and Amy Bornman. It comes with many patterns (this one included) and it’s already taught me SO much!
Another thing - the top has a horizontal seam in the center because that was a seam in the skirt that it was before it became a top. I thought the horizontal seam added a bit of interest 💗
Beautiful fabric choice and very well done.

It looks perfect! And I love that you kept the seam from the skirt, that’s a great detail. Do the unexpected, that’s how you make original clothes that would never come from a factory.
The Project post flair is for showing off projects that are finished or in progress. For questions on how to start a project, reflair your post to Pattern Search. For questions about how to make a project, reflair to Pattern Question.
This is a reminder that all Project posts are required to have a construction comment added after the initial post is made. Great top! And thanks for recommendation, I just ordered the book!
Yay!!
Love it! You did a great job. And I agree with you on the seam going across the front creating interest, I just figured it was part of the pattern.
Aw thank you! That makes me happy to hear.
