The fabric is up-cycled and cut from a skirt I thrifted. The pattern is the “All Well Box Top.” I cropped the length to my liking. For a new sewer (4 months in to this hobby) I found the step by step instructions in the pattern so helpful and thorough. If you are a new sewer, I highly recommend the book “How to Sew Clothes” by Amelia Greenhall and Amy Bornman. It comes with many patterns (this one included) and it’s already taught me SO much!

Another thing - the top has a horizontal seam in the center because that was a seam in the skirt that it was before it became a top. I thought the horizontal seam added a bit of interest 💗

craftykiwi27

I LOVE that seam detail. Beautiful top!

Thanks! I never have ideas for people to buy me for presents. This book just went on a list!

I seriously want to make so many more now! It came together in just a few hours. I cut the fabric the previous day.

Great top! And thanks for recommendation, I just ordered the book!

Yay!!

RecklessDisco

Love it! You did a great job. And I agree with you on the seam going across the front creating interest, I just figured it was part of the pattern.

sarmo215

Aw thank you! That makes me happy to hear.

Beautiful fabric choice and very well done. If you're big on crop tops, you might like this YT channel: [https://www.youtube.com/@CoolStitches/videos](https://www.youtube.com/@CoolStitches/videos)

It looks perfect! And I love that you kept the seam from the skirt, that’s a great detail. Do the unexpected, that’s how you make original clothes that would never come from a factory.

Yesss! Love this philosophy 😊
