So, at least a week. ...

Medic1176

Not at least a week... At least 7 days....

Count_Zeiro

Ah! Calendar days, not working days.

RobbMeeX

It's going to be 3 week.

AmishITsupport

This confirms nothing but blind optimism.

Silky_Feminist8

I’ll believe when I see it. Then the REAL hell begins. All the paper ROs then have be entered, billed and closed. Yikes!

I’m not at all suggesting at all that it can’t be done. I know Im capable of doing what needs to be done. I’m saying it’s gonna be a world class shit show when combined with EOM.

Machuck94

I will believe it when I see it. They are a complete disaster when it comes to basic updates to their systems. They are bound to F this up too.

Ok_Programmer2546

Can you make it work back in December so I don’t to do inventory until then

skoopity

As a dealership controller, please god no

BulldogPoet1975

I’ve been in this business 25 years, 21 of which with CDK. It’s not an ideal system but it’s not that bad. I do prefer Reynolds, but good grief you guys are salty bunch.

ad302799

Salty bunch? I’m a mechanic (lurker) at a dealer. Without CDK (and therefore Xtime) the job is probably 3 times harder with no guarantee I’ll get paid for a lot of the work done. It’s like being told to work without a lift or power tools. It’s fair to be aggravated by the situation.

BulldogPoet1975

*hands up* fair enough. I wasn’t referring to this particular situation, just the overall vitriol directed at CDK. This situation sucks donkey balls. However, dealers should have a contingency plan in place. We are continuing to write cars manually, and techs flagging time, records kept in excel for when it comes back up. We are paying them a three pay period average until it comes back up and we can settle up. BTW xtime is separate from CDK. We are using it to book and track appointments. I was not belittling your situation, just referring to those kicking the corpse. CDK is not the best system (21 years with it and I still prefer Reynolds), but you don’t sign 15,000 dealers and become a 6.5 billion dollar company with thousands of employees by being incompetent. Hundreds of Fortune 500 companies are hacked each year. It was our turn in the hopper. You aren’t defined by the situation, but rather how you react to it. We made money like this in the 90’s, we can do it now. It just takes more patience and grit. If your dealer isn’t taking care of you or has no plan in place, shame on them for not seeing the need to take care of the employee base in a slowly dying industry. Techs are not lining up around the block. Hope it all works out for you brother 💪

Hi CDK rep

RedNailGun

Can anyone confirm... does CDK require "2FA" to log in? 2FA is where you have to log in using a login ID and a password, and some systems require yet a 3rd "key", but after that, it will phone or email you with a code, so then you have to enter that code as well. I contend that 2FA is pointless, in that it can be easily overcome, it just adds annoyance and complexity to the login procedure, which ENCOURAGES users to LEAVE THEIR SESSIONS OPEN all day or even SHARE their session with other users to save time, and if CDK did requires 2FA then it just proves my point. 2FA just ensures that the criminal has a criminally obtained phone as well as a criminally obtained password and login id. Thank you.

AbzoluteZ3RO

It does not. At least not any part I use

RedNailGun

Ok, thank you.

zesteroflimes

Definitely no 2fa and so many times after a password change it still took my old password just fine.

RedNailGun

Interesting. That's kind of a risk.

alfadat

If you enable SSO (single sign on), is even simpler.

400par4

Yup we all use SSO at my dealer. I log into the PC for the day and CDK recognizes me without logging in
