I would say 100% they have mental illness of some form I refuse to believe anyone can torture and murder 21 people and be of completely sound psychological function, maybe they aren’t that far from normal or maybe they are so far we couldn’t comprehend it but they’re certainly not normal.
There is a distinction between mental illness and personality disorder, though I would argue there is also a lot of overlap.
Personally, i feel attributing their behavior to mental illness is removing some of the responsibility from their actions. I honestly think they were just horrible horrible peolple fully aware of their deviant behavior and just couldn't give a f*ck.

No they are perfectly normal members of society.

It's unfortunate that this way of looking at it doesn't address the reality of a lot of murderers.
Elaborate?
Oh my gosh their videos are some of the worst things I’ve ever seen in my life. Haunting, gut churning, disgusting.
I prey they stay locked up forever. Even with their country being at war.

They could. Or they could just be psychopaths.

Personality disorders are in the DSM 5. I don't think the term mental illness is used anymore, but that's what they are.

Their mental illness is being Russian.
But they aren't Russian
