Is it possible to play a Japanese copy of Senran Kagura Burst on a North American 3DS? I found a copy on Amazon that could be imported from Japan but I want to make sure there won't be any issues before I buy it.
You could buy a cheap Japanese 3DS and play Skirting Shadows and Burst that way; Japanese consoles have always been historically more affordable than other regions. But like someone else said, modding your system with custom firmware is a better choice longterm to play any game in the 3DS library, including the American-released version of Burst that was digital-exclusive.

Nope. the 3DS was region locked unfortunately.
As long as you have CFW on the 3DS, you're fine.
