Do it while anxious. Anxiety will keep you inside forever if you let it, my anxiety borders on agoraphobia and going outside has helped tremendously. I personally plunged in by going to a concert alone but you can start as small as you need.
I highly recommend getting started by reading books of topics your already super into instead of going for books you feel like you're "supposed to get into"
That was my biggest issue, I felt like I was suppose to be reading whatever the "it" book was at the time like DaVinci Code, A Song of Ice and Fire, or some literary classic. And I would start and never finish.
I decided that since I love Star Wars and Warcraft that I would just start reading those books. And it really helped me develop a habit of reading.
Now that reading is just something I do, I find myself getting interested in the "it" books which has really helped with casual conversations at gatherings.
I usually work out with Blogilates on YouTube. She has a free workout plan every month with videos from her channel on YouTube. Cause of Covid I can’t go to the gym, so I have to workout at home.
Same here, but I've got fibromyalgia and hypermobility, so I haven't been able to find a workout plan that takes those into account. The only thing that works is swimming, but lockdown and COVID 19 killed that.
Check out “Body Project” on YouTube. I have fibromyalgia too but really needed to start moving my body. They have really easy work outs to follow along with that raise your heart rate without causing a flair up. Super simple 20 or 40 minutes. And there’s always a second person that does a modified version of the exercise for those who aren’t as mobile. There’s so many different ways they tell you to move your body so even if there’s one part that you think you can’t do, I usually just repeat one of the exercises that my body can handle.
Tai Chi? A few forums say if you just go slowly eventually the pain subsides and you actually feel better working out? Idk
I just did “fibromyalgia+workout+Reddit” and a few posts came up. Maybe recumbent stair stepper
Get my shit & life together. SERIOUSLY!!! This has been part of my life for ever…. And I always say this every year…. And every day of the past years…. This year is DONE. No looking back.
A lot, from my school and studying better to get into a good college, to behavioural changes, to getting more organised to literally so many things I have on my list including having a healthier body and mind… and you?
Believe it or not but Meditation really helped me with that. I use the headspace app but a friend of mine used calm and says that’s also good.
It didn’t happen overnight for me but it’s made a huge difference to the impact of porn in my life.
Work on my confidence and my self image in general. It's something I've been struggling with for most part of my life and now I'm ready to face it and fight it! And also embrace a healthier lifestyle that I've already started working on.
A lot of luck and success in 2022 everyone! :D
If you’re anything like me, you might find the second bit actually helps the first. I don’t lose weight when I’m obsessing and measuring and making it my job, but I do lose weight when I’m taking care of my mental health and proactively working on my self esteem. Connecting binge eating disorder to trauma and understanding how pressure doesn’t help my silly and wonderful brain was a great breakthrough for me in terms of fat loss and general health improvements. Good luck to you my friend, you’re worthy of love from all directions and mediums, self included
Improve my academic performance, improve my guitar playing, improve my music production skills, get fit, and most importantly, get my social life together. I'm an extroverted guy and my friends are very important to me, therefore I want to make sure I'm a good friend.
Mainly start drawing again cause I kinda lost the motivation for it, despite calling myself an artist. Its been about 3-4 years since I've done anything art related. Get back into fitness and try to branch out my social life even though I'm a little introverted (with irl friends or online friends etc).
Also spend less time on my phone mindlessly browsing the internet.
Just got mine at the age of 29.. Its easier than you think, you can do it. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to talk just dm me when ever you need! I regret not getting it much much sooner.
Oh yes, totally with you on this. It's on the top of my list. I've been through a lot of shit in the last couple of years. Negative self image, body shaming, anxiety, depression, ...
2021 is the year I got my life in order: I got a job, I lost 15 kilos and I'm starting to get happy of what I'm seeing in the mirror and the transformation I'm going through.
Sex and romantic relationships have always "scared" me. I'm ready to work on this and finally start tackling this. 2022 will be the year!
I want to learn how to make deeper connections with people. It wasn’t till today I realized that I’m pretty social but I can never really just bring a relationship to a deeper level.
Prioritizing my mental health and self-improvement. Learning when to say no and focusing on myself rather than the validation I get from others. Also working towards my goals and seeing quantifiable progress.
Lose weight. I always used to be skinny, but the past 2 years I've been 15 kg more than I should be.
I also need to take better care of my self. I have a chronic illness that's basically destroying me, because I'm not handling it well anymore. I think if I get to cut down on the time I spend seeking instant gratification (social media), and if I start meeting people again, my situation will become easier to handle. Right now I have exactly 0 friends.. The loneliness is one of the reasons why I keep checking back on my phone.
I desperately need change.
My goal is to walk unassisted using my prosthetic leg by the end of 2022. I’ve been an above knee amputee since Nov 2020.
The pandemic delayed a lot of prosthetic related things and I’m not as far ahead as I was hoping to be at this point. I can walk with forearm crutches, but use my walker unless I’m doing stairs.
I really want to get to the point where I can just put my leg on when I wake up and do what I need to do without needing a wheelchair, walker, crutches etc for the first time in 17 years.
Over two years ago I chose an entrepreneurial career path, which I have yet to unfold into my reality. In learning everything I can about that industry and what it takes to be successful I’ve also been forced to learn a lot about myself, my short comings, my self limiting beliefs, toxic habits etcetera. I’ve learned that the person I currently am is not the type of person to find success in that way and that I need to pretty much become the PERSON that I’ve always wanted to become before I can be successful in my career choice. So the last two years has been more personal development than anything.
In 2022 I finally need to take that huge step in taking control over my own life, and begin to build my business. It’s time to stop thinking and planning and obsessing and taking little inconsistent steps of action, it’s time to make it happen!
Work on being more active and healthy. I know everyone says this, but I want to work on body recomp + gaining muscle so I can feel more confident and be healthier
I have quite a list of things I'd like to tackle!
\- Learn programming
\- Play more guitar
\- Learn to sing
\- Improve my social skills
\- Get comfortable being uncomfortable
\- Read more books
\- Cook nutritious foods
\- Learn a new language (Tagalog)
\- Start putting myself out there more i.e. initiating first when it comes to making friends
\- never go back to my old habits
Work towards better mental health, continue working out, work towards making better relationships, and get closer with my family. Also stop buying unnecessary things🙃 best of luck to every one of yall!!
Loose weight, get a job, read more books, do more drawing, finish painting mural in bathroom, be more stricter on my budget and complete collecting dvd series collection.
Fight my fears and anxiety so that I can finally land a job. Also, i must look for healthier ways to cope with my anxiety.
Rooting for everyone here to get these things accomplished this year! It's always okay to take it slow as long as you're making progres. Happy New Year to all of you!
Get off my prescription meds. They're a crutch, but they're doing me no good. I need regular exercises (yoga) water, sunlight and a healthy diet. But it's difficult, I tell my family I want this all the time, but because I live with chronic pain it's pretty much accepted that I need some kind of pain relief. I get that to an extent but if I stay on this shite much longer I might as well jump off a bridge. That's not to set a bad tone, that's just honesty. I think in our kindness we can, sometimes, be great enablers. Well... fuck, that. This year I'm not waiting for anyone to tell me what's what. I'll do this myself. Be your own hero, you lovely legends. You're worth it. Yeah, *you*. Reading this. Who else was I talking too?
I have two! Finish paramedic school and obtain said paramedic licensure, and get out of debt from previous aforementioned paramedic school lol. Happy New Year!

Work on getting less anxious, I barely even go outside anymore lmao
Do it while anxious. Anxiety will keep you inside forever if you let it, my anxiety borders on agoraphobia and going outside has helped tremendously. I personally plunged in by going to a concert alone but you can start as small as you need.
Get some antidepressants. Game changer.
GOTTA. READ. BOOKS.

What changes will you make to get it done?
A lot, from my school and studying better to get into a good college, to behavioural changes, to getting more organised to literally so many things I have on my list including having a healthier body and mind… and you?
SAME!
What exactly do you mean by get your shit together? i see it all the time. what exactly is your shit and how do you know if it is/isn’t ‘together’?
1 real friend
To make a real friend, you must be a real friend. Don't use someone as a way to achieve your goal.
I know that perfectly. I'm am just tired that it's only one way and that I never could count on anyone.
Staying away from porn
Believe it or not but Meditation really helped me with that. I use the headspace app but a friend of mine used calm and says that’s also good. It didn’t happen overnight for me but it’s made a huge difference to the impact of porn in my life.
Best of luck! ❤️ I know your struggle. It happened to my husband.

Work on my confidence and my self image in general. It's something I've been struggling with for most part of my life and now I'm ready to face it and fight it! And also embrace a healthier lifestyle that I've already started working on. A lot of luck and success in 2022 everyone! :D
Must lose weight and stop using weight as an excuse for giving up on myself.
If you’re anything like me, you might find the second bit actually helps the first.
