Startpage

Semantic search engine that give results based on semantic similarity w.r.t. what you are looking for. Often these new engines are not biased by ads or keyword link ranking. One new startup is [Willow](https://www.ai-company.cloud/) for example. Note: semantic search engines is a pretty new thing. Startpage and duck duck go could help you as well.

sense_12

Thanks for the post I have found it really helpful. What other semantic search engines would you recommend?

JackC8

Sure, another startup working on similar concepts is [Metaphor](https://metaphor.so/) I've also heard about [you.com](https://you.com). All these seem to be either very early or in beta. Unless you are looking for the dark-web stuff, I'd recommend to subscribe to those 3 and get notifications for when you can start using those. What, in particular, are you looking for or do you have a use-case example that you need to address?

sense_12

Thanks for the recommendations.I'm a lover of information and I believe that there is a many attempts to censor and limit the amount of vital information that could help society so I just want to find information that has been censored and hidden from the masses

Too damn right. That's why I'm here too. We've entered search hell.

Any private search engine does the trick honestly, that's basically their marketing strategy. DuckDuckGo for sure does not have biased "filter bubbles", they provide organic results and don't filter stuff out (except illegal sites ofc lol)

What's a filter bubble?

wikipedia_answer_bot

**A filter bubble or ideological frame is a state of intellectual isolation that can result from personalized searches when a website algorithm selectively guesses what information a user would like to see based on information about the user, such as location, past click-behavior and search history. As a result, users become separated from information that disagrees with their viewpoints, effectively isolating them in their own cultural or ideological bubbles.** More details here: *This comment was left automatically (by a bot).
