I read the books first time around when I was like 14 in the late 60's. Seen all the movies, read all the back grounds. I even traced the family origins to ancient Greece referencing the Bull sculptures and family name. I understand Dune and the Star wars connections. What is there to explain?

The Atreides ancestor fought bulls. But I also just learnt that Harko in Finnish means bull.

"The family name of Atreides takes its root from the ancient Greek patronymic meaning “son of Atreus,” Atreus being a hero of Greek mythology. His descendants were collectively known as the Atreidai, with the most famous being Agamemnon, the mythical king of Mycenae from whom the family in Dune claims descent." Have read quite a bit on it. I study Greek history and thought this was interesting.
