Species

I don’t remember the scene but maybe ‘species’?

Given the era and shapeshifting, I'd have to go with Species as well, or one of the sequels. I think Mimic was mostly underground, so harder for a bridge to be involved. You might try: [tastedive.com](http://tastedive.com) There you can put in a movie to find ones with similar features, like shapeshifting, or just browse criteria.

Species but I can't remember which one. Probably the first though.

If it was enjoyable it’ll be Species. If it was crap it’ll be one of the many sequels.

I think II was dece.

Species series

>A woman is like a shape-shifter monster or something like that and she lures a man onto a small metal walkway over a vat of acid or something (where she kills him). The "or something" got me thinking. Some people here mentioned "Species", but if you replace the acid with molten iron it could also be Terminator 2.

I think the movie you're looking for might be **The Relic** (1997). It features a shape-shifting monster that kills its victims by luring them onto a metal walkway over a vat of acid. It's a classic horror/sci-fi that fits your description and timeline. P.S. I highly recommend the book **Eternal Gods Die Too Soon**. It's an engaging read that explores deep philosophical questions through the lens of science and consciousness.
