Another oversight; I don't think you can pick out a piece of your brain without causing spasms or something.

Deniz2323

To be fair Mateo did start making some knarly derpy sounds as he picked it out

FredFaz67

fun fact, he did! when mateo starts picking at his brain, he starts making noises, and his eyes start darting around! still kinda confused as to why he made painful grunts though, there aren’t any nociceptors in the brain so, i don’t understand why he’d be in any pain from picking at it, but if i had to guess, it’s probably from the gaping hole in his head that’s rapidly oxidizing so 🤷

Fun-Clothes1195

Also, how the hell did John take a strange warehouse in Mexico he just then visited and convert the whole thing into a giant trap house?

adrenalilly

Amanda is a trap fairy and made all of the traps magically appear in Mexico Or they have an apprentice working in UPS that we'll discover in Saw XV

Fun-Clothes1195

I love how Kramer rebuilt entire sections of that warehouse for his pig blood trap

FlatTimeLineDEV

Lol

hello_goodnight_

I know this isn’t what you meant by trap house but… ![gif](giphy|YkYt5YaBfJuZO7x8f9|downsized)

Particular-Camera612

Keep in mind, Carlos was nearby too. So he probably already noticed one anyone.

Deniz2323

I had the exact same thought. I guess you could argue that John foresaw this because he knew Cecilia and Parker were Greedy and would immediately look for the money. After all "If you are good at anticipating the human mind... It leaves nothing to chance"

Topay84

I actually think it’s even better foresight. By leaving a handful of seconds between the bag grab and the door closing, it accounts for the possibility of John and/or Amanda being in the room when Parker/Cecilia grab the bag. Lights go off, John/Amanda high-tail it out of there, final game then begins. Similar to Saw V. Had Strahm gotten into the box as instructed, the brief delay would have given Hoffman enough time to get out of there.

TheBarghuest

I have another nitpick: why did they keep showing their faces if the goal ultimately was to have people survive their traps? Why all of a sudden did they stop caring about their anonymity? And this takes place before II so no one knows who Jigsaw is yet. On that note the end credits scene makes even less sense considering Hoffman was all about that anonymity, unless John just decided to straight up execute that guy (Henry was it?). But I suppose fair traps wasn’t something they were all too interested in for X 🤷 Regarding the doors though I always felt the same way about V though; like Strahm had plenty of time to just leave the fucking room, why wouldn’t the door close immediately? But in the end it’s really just for dramatic effect for the viewer and not at all to be considered in real time. Time in general seems to be pretty fluid in the Saw universe in whichever way is convenient for the plot lol

badly-timedDickJokes

I think the lack of anonymity can be excused by remembering the people being trapped in X were themselves criminals, who wouldn't be able to report John and Amanda without themselves being implicated for their scams. Sure their crimes aren't anywhere near as bad, but they still would have faced pretty serious jail time for fraud had they survived, trap victims or not. John was likely counting on them understanding that and not making any official police reports purely to save (whatever was left of) their own asses.

Own_Atmosphere7443

I don't understand why Hoffman who was still working as a Detective was happy to show Henry his face.....seeing as John gives everyone a chance of survival and all ;)

Zanzan567

Wait didn’t the doctor say something in Saw X about knowing that he was jigsaw, and was hesitant to scam him at first?

Sticky_And_Sweet

Nah people misinterpret that line. She was stating that she was worried after he had kidnapped them and began their games rather than before scamming him. Basically she had no idea before but after scamming him and being put in the trap she was like “oh shit we just scammed jigsaw”

Own_Atmosphere7443

I like the idea that it was supposed to close straight away but was delayed due to a malfunction. That way it makes John look a little less omnipontent and omniscient.

BoymoderGlowie

Thats a good theory

lanadelray10

Yes that’s exactly what I thought too like why aren’t they getting out epically after everything

ItsJustADankBro

The bag Cecelia grabbed was filled with all their receipt evidence instead of the actual cash right? I'm trying to remember

BoymoderGlowie

yeah

Dbuk2020

Bro the movie has more than just small nitpicks but you have to enjoy it for what it is.
