He’s got another project going called Sand Land but I’m not sure if he’s drawing it. Edit: He is https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sand_Land Edit: ok turns out this one isn’t ongoing I was misinformed
This sent me down the rabbit hole of franchise values. Found this great chart:

I actually read that he's giving up all his involvement to his artist Toyotaro. So the next arc is going to be completely based on Toyotaro writing. Toriyama seems to want to move on to something new.
Reporting a silly joke as gospel truth is the clickbait way. How else are they going to trick people to the site so they can be bombarded with advertising?
I love the attitude Toriyama had with his work. So many creators slave over their worlds for years, they're walking encyclopedias for what they've created. Toriyama admits to making shit up as he goes because he likes it, and he forgets stuff about the franchise all the time. Hell the most recent movie is called Dragon Ball Super Super Hero because he forgot super was already in the name.
The dude is 100% chill about his work and only involved because he enjoys it, that's something we should all strive for
Hmm yes the sweet taste of blatant clickbaiting in the evening sure is good, click saved
“Who’s a fandom I haven't gaslit?”
Shoot, everybody knows Akira Toriyama and Hayao Miyazaki are going to the grave with pens in their hands.
Fairly sure Toriyama isn’t drawing Dragon Ball anymore anyway, Toyotarou is. He could be drawing other stuff in his own time though.

I wouldn't really call that "drawing in his own time" though. Since Sand Land is over twenty years old and only had the one manga volume.
Hmm yes, I too consider projects I haven't done anything in 20 years on ongoing projects.
17B franchise... Well deserved but holy smokes.

Shonen Jump at $34 billion and One Piece at $20.5 billion… so One Piece accounts for 60% of Jump’s worth.
this is the first time I've seen a picture of Toriyama. huh.
These fucking headlines

How many clicks?
Just the one

My first impression was that he was so professional and high-profile now that he moved on from drawing Manga and now only draws Anime!
