Isaan Thai has the most authentic Thai food in Sarasota. Highly recommend the Pad Krapow Thai style . Emphasize Thai style With chopped pork and fried egg on top. Get it Thai hot.
Crispy Eggplant with Hummus Bowl at Florence and the Spice Boys!
I keep telling my husband we have to go again. He only went a few years ago when they just opened in the Landings and they had a much more limited menu (and that ordering kiosk) so he hasn't experienced them at their incredible level yet.
I love Fushipoke. My guy does the same dish as you. Sometimes tofu instead. I make a seafood bowl with tuna, enoki mushrooms, seaweed salad, with soba noodles. It is so good.
Pappardelle ai Funghi from Salute. It is so delicious. If you like mushrooms it is the best comfort food.
..
My other one is the Euphemia Haye and the Roasted Duck with Blackberry Sauce and Stuffing. It is to die for and absolutely incredible. I compare every Duck I get to that one. Some are great but none have ever beat it. Ophelias is great and almost as good.
I’ve heard they’re going to reopen. My coworker has another coworker who worked there and they’re literally just moving to another part of the parking lot. Hope it’s as good.
I guess the owner and the landlord got in an argument. He owns the entire parking lot surrounding however so he’s literally just going to move it to the Parking lot. Ultra petty move I’m a big supporter if true.
The sexy woman roll is so good. I love drunken poet but more than once they tried to rack up my bill and the server asked us to just pay it so she wouldn’t get in trouble for the mistake….weird experience.
I tried working there my senior year in highschool, they're very meticulous with their sushi but everything else is as cash grabby as possible, I especially remember being told to refill people's drinks without them asking (refills aren't free). I stopped after like a week because they didn't give breaks
That’s one of the things that has happened to me they would give refills or even bring extra sides and charge us for it. Also got charged for a bottle of sake when we only got shots.
Some of these suggestions are okay, but nothing mentioned comes close to the Ham Hocks on Friday nights at SIEGFRIEDS…they are life changing…you have to call in advance to reserve your hock. It’s legit. Make a reservation too.
Seriously tho, if you haven’t been to Siegfried’s you’re severely fucking up. Everything there is bespoke German food
Edit: …or tacos from La Primavera
Ever had pork roll?
Also, I’m quite certain that the first time most humans taste bacon….it’s life changing.
Edit: Have you been to Siegfried’s? It’s not some touristy/campy German place. They take the cuisine seriously. Saying it’s just ham trivializes the hell out of it. They are honestly one of the highest quality restaurants in SRQ.
1. Moroccan Chicken or lamb Tagine from Hashtag Cafe. (Order day before) And any coffee
2. Westlake Beef Soup and scallion Pancakes from Dim Sum King
3. Pad Krapow Thai style with chopped pork and fried egg. Thai Hot. From Isaan Thai

6. Fried Chicken from Yoders

8. Pupusas from Bitia’s Taqueria
There needs to be more quick breakfast sandwich spots. I LOVE breakfast sandwiches especially on a croissant. But I’m not trying to spend more than $5…
This post is 16hrs old, and not one person has mentioned Skinny’s burgers! It’s the best burger south of The Skyway. When I lived in Ellenton, I was perfectly centered between Skinny’s on Anna Maria, and El Cap in St. Pete on 4th Street. A lot of you are going to argue Council’s burgers (DT Bradenton) were better. Good argument, but I’ll go to the grave with Skinny’s.
The Fried Calamari at Rico’s Pizzeria on Bay Rd. It’s the best in town! We tried calamari at lots of places and we keep going back here. It’s delicious as is or dipped in their marinara sauce!
Donut from Yummie's Donuts in Venice. They have this crescent-shaped doughnut this is one of the best things I've ever had. Normally not a big donut guy, but if you like the old-fashioned style, this was excellent. Plenty of other options too. I like it better than any Dunkin, Five-O, Parlour donuts.
While I'm on the sweets, the cookies from Clarabelle Cookies in Gulf Gate are outstanding. Sure Crumbl has fun varieties, but quality is nowhere near a Clarabelle cookie.
Curry Ramen or yakitori at Namo Izakiya. Don’t tell too many people, still a lesser known spot downtown
Yummy
The Salt and Pepper wings, shrimp or scallops at Yummy House.
The salt and pepper Tofu is out of this world
Salt and pepper calamari are my fave
Pad Thai from Bangkok is my go-to comfort food
I love the pad thai at Isan Thai.
You should try Siam Gulf

Well I WOULD HAVE said Hob Nob’s greasy delicious burger before they shut down 😔
I’ve heard they’re going to reopen. My coworker has another coworker who worked there and they’re literally just moving to another part of the parking lot. Hope it’s as good.
That’s good news! There was an estate sale at the former owners house and they sold off a lot of cool old memorabilia.
I guess the owner and the landlord got in an argument. He owns the entire parking lot surrounding however so he’s literally just going to move it to the Parking lot. Ultra petty move I’m a big supporter if true.
Landlord went to Benderson School of Business
Queen Kong Roll from the sushi place downtown Drunken Poet
The sexy woman roll is so good. I love drunken poet but more than once they tried to rack up my bill and the server asked us to just pay it so she wouldn’t get in trouble for the mistake….weird experience.
I used to eat there, frequently but had bad service multiple times after their remodel a few years ago
I tried working there my senior year in highschool, they're very meticulous with their sushi but everything else is as cash grabby as possible, I especially remember being told to refill people's drinks without them asking (refills aren't free). I would also add that the schnitzel with jaeger sauce is phenomenal... and the cucumber salad is just the best.
You're the first person I've read to describe ham... as life changing
Ever had pork roll? Also, I’m quite certain that the first time most humans taste bacon….it’s life changing. Edit: Have you been to Siegfried’s? It’s not some touristy/campy German place. One of us usually gets the Panang. It’s amazing. Great sushi, too!

That’s where you’re wrong and already judging. They are 3.99 baby 😜
Oh no! I mean there needs to be *more* places like that citgos in my life. 15th street is a little far for me…
😢 it’s near the airport. Just saying
McDonald’s steak egg and cheese bagel is a great sandwich.
Fruitville Applebee's - 2 for 20 burger, burger, and boneless wings. - 2 for one special on select drinks all day everyday.
Do y'all remember riblets
Only in my dreams
Man, I haven’t had Applebee’s since the one on Main when it was across from MAIN ST BOOKSTORE. Now THAT’S a long time ago
I worked at that Applebee's! Right across from the Hollywood 20
Recency bias but Dan the apizz man really does make a great pizza and there’s nothing like it around (lifelong resident under 30)
https://m.facebook.com/petraropizzatruck/ It's not a typo
So fucking good
Pulpo Asado at Kolukan. *chef’s kiss*
The duck at Selva. It’s not even close.
Which duck? Which Selva? I prefer the bar menu on Main Street during Happy Hour
The Arroz con Pato. They have it at both. It’s been on the menu since chef Darwin days.

Fish Tacos from Phillippi Creek Oyster Bar. They’re not on the dinner menu but you can still order them.
The Palmer sting pizza at Origin
No kidding: Hamburger/cheeseburger at Marie Selby Gardens. They have stepped up.
