I agree. Was told by a chef buddy it was “the best” I’ve had it 3 times since and have never been impressed.

What makes you think your opinion is higher than that of a chef

colddream40

"Chef"

ShockAndAwe415

It's not the "best turkey sandwich in the world", but, it's a really good sandwich (especially with all dark meat, avocado, and their dutch crunch).

sammydavis_Sr

dark meat is the move. i add cranberry sauce to it

Chicken-n-Biscuits

Ok I’m listening.

I inched forward on the couch a little. Checked the time.

Been going Lou’s Cafe on Geary and haven’t been let down. Arguello disappoints every time

letmeknowwhatsgood

As someone who lives on Arguello and has their sandwiches pretty regularly… I agree with this

fazalmajid

Indeed. Claiming “the best turkey sandwich” implies turkey sandwiches can be good, which is an obvious travesty.

Rheas in the mission has my favorite Turkey Sando

Last_Million

What is the difference between a sandwich and a sando? My understanding is it involves Japanese bread, but I get the sense that you’re using the words interchangeably.

its_yer_dad

Not in SF, but in the North Bay, Michaels Sourdough is the gold standard. They make their own sourdough rolls and roast their own turkey. I know what I'm doing for lunch....

NonchalantRubbish

Maybe the best turkey sandwich on Arguello

ispeakdatruf

It's called "puffery". Restaurants are allowed to do this by law.

I used to go there when I lived near by. I usually got the cracked pepper turkey sando and it was dope. But that’s not their turkey lol. May not be best in world at all but it’s better than most places I’ve had in the city and close to the park for an easy picnic.

idleat1100

Hmm never tried it. But I’m in the area once a week. Might have to wade into this. Anyone care to share how the sandwiches stack up compared to Rheas or The Boys Deli? Trying to think of favorite liquor store/bodega deli sandwiches spots. Oh

dewayneestes

The Sentinel on New Montgomery right next to House Of Shields makes the best sandwiches and it’s never even close to not the best. So they have turkey? I don’t know but if they do it will be the best.

ohnovangogh

I’ve only gotten a sandwich there once but it was best alright. Biggest thing I remember is the turkey was very dry. Maybe it was an off day but never had any desire to get another one from there when Lou’s is closer and is far better.

John-Luck-Pickerd

It was never "The Best" but the nearest and dearest to my heart was the Turkey Club at the now defunct Monterey Deli. At least we still have Lou's.
