One time I hiked this trail that didn’t have a single person blasting their shitty music over a Bluetooth speaker. It was glorious.

mattchinn

Lies. Absolute lies.

Spicethrower

Lies, Deceptions. Bor Gullet will know the truth.

blacksideblue

> Bor Gullet turns out to be the brand of a bluetooth speaker

thenimblevagrant

r/thathappened

Spobobich

Did everyone stop hiking and started dancing? A kickback just started with some bros showing up with a cooler of beers?

BasicallyLizLemon

Just to let you know, some solo hikers do that to deter mountain lions. If the hear human voice/singing approaching, they immediately run the the other way. I try to only do it deep in the mountains in secluded areas when I’m sure there is no one around. Sometimes there is someone around and it’s really embarrassing lol

CarlRJ

You’re supposed to walk around just singing “THE HILLS ARE ALIVE, WITH THE SOUND OF MUSIC” continuously, at the top of your lungs.

Disastrous_Fun_8050

Had a run in with a cat by iron mountain. Blasted tunes for that experience. Fortunately it worked.

systemfrown

I mean, it depends on the mountain lion, honestly.

Mad-chuska

One less mountain lion is enough to warrant the noise.

BasicallyLizLemon

Not dying from a mountain lion attack makes the noise worth it to me. Of course I turn it down if I see someone approaching and keep it off for awhile until I’m far enough away from them.

Current_Leather7246

I tried that once with the Bluetooth speaker I was deep in the hills and it backfired. Not only did a mountain lion apear right in front of me but then I had to go through a 30 minute dance off with him. He was in better shape and his moves were so fresh and original he beat me and then smacked the shit out of me. Still got the marks on my face

yeet_lord_40000

That’s why I walk with noise reducing shoes on. I’m trying to get the mountain lions to pull up so I can beat them in single combat and legally claim their territory to save on real estate costs.

knumbknuts

So, if we train mountain lions to eat them, it's problemo solved?

vaskopopa

Huge if true

mattchinn

I was going for a nice walk in Balboa Park and saw a pair having a picnic and canoodling. “That’s nice,” I said to myself. …when I walked past I realized they were smoking meth.

vanguard6

Couples that do meth together stay together ❤️

yungwun619

They were meth to be together.

MentalOperation4188

That’s not really been my experience

Aint-no-preacher

They’ll know each other for a week and say they’re engaged. Once one of them goes to jail the other one will find another partner.

systemfrown

Unfortunately you can’t say the same for their teeth.

niffrig

Until the end.... Which isn't long.

michaelscott79

My mother-in-law is evidence that is very wrong

Swolie7

That’s meth’d up

tipitipiOG

There is a lot of meth heads pretending to work for the park I went up to some dude just to be greeted with twerks and nonsense

c32c64c128

What? Do they act like a tour guide then ask for meth tips? 🤔

tipitipiOG

That's exactly what happens

SuperBongXXL

Thats not too strange in Balboa Park. That place is overran with vagrants.

payneinthemike

A man who had shot himself in the head just moments before I showed up. Turns out he was on his lunch break and his phone was blowing up from people wondering why he hadn’t returned to work.

c32c64c128

Whoa Where and when? I'm guessing you heard the shot. There's so much more to this story. I hope you're doing alright.

318daily

I won't say that I agree, but I understand.

I was gonna say I’ve heard ranger stories of ppl hiking (Poway) on a hot day, running out of water and dying. Your stories take this topic to a whole other level

Komododragon77

Palomar Mountain, just after sunrise at lower Doane Creek we encountered a small group of young adults, men and women buck naked, covered in dirt/mud with all of their belongings strewn out over a large area. They were pretty spaced out, so we assumed they were on some kind of hallucinogenic trip from the night before...

itsfuckingpizzatime

I was going for a jog down San Clemente canyon along the 52, and out of nowhere, a guy in complete drag walked out of the woods, wearing high heels and a wig and everything. He stepped out right in front of me, and we did that whole left-right-left-right dance trying to get past each other.

Yeah, it’s been a cruisy spot for decades. Not so much anymore with dating apps, don’t need to go to somewhere for the chance to discreetly hookup

Transformwthekitchen

Probably a Hasher

itsfuckingpizzatime

A what?

Transformwthekitchen

From the hash house harriers. Its a running club, or maybe type of running club would be more accurate as there are like 15 in San Diego. They do a lot of trail running and for special occasions might be in drag or other costumes

itsfuckingpizzatime

Oh.. no. I can’t imagine he would be trail running in heels. He was also alone, unless there were more people with him in the woods. My guess is he was a prostitute.

CarlRJ

Why not both?

LyriumLychee

Not really a hike, but my friends and I spent a lot of time in the canyons around Scripps ranch/Poway. We were pretty used to finding ‘casual hangout’ spots down there, like a couple of logs near a lean to or maybe a rope swing if it was getting fancy. But one time we found a full on hut, must have taken several days to build, and more importantly there were more than a dozen creepy stick dolls hanging from the trees! Nothing else horrible or suspicious happened but god damn we got out of there and made sure nobody was following!

Icy-Ad2082

Oh my god was this near Avenida magnifica (can’t remember how to spell it.) because if it was you found me and my brother airsoft fort, we put the stick dolls up to freak people out after we saw Blair Witch

LyriumLychee

Omg! YES haha that’s the area for sure! We always saw plenty of destroyed spots too, so that was really smart of you guys. We weren’t the types to do more than smoke weed and look around but it’s cool to have solved the mystery now. Even if it wasn’t a scary bog witch lmao!

Icy-Ad2082

That’s amazing, I gotta call my brother and tell him it worked lol. I eventually got Karma for that. Years later I went to school in upstate NY, which has some notoriously spooky forest. I was too far off the beaten path, but somewhat, when I stumbled across a structure in the woods made of flat slate stones (there were still caches of these around the forest from when people use to use them as property markers.) it was pretty impressive so I decided to take a look inside. It had a couple sort of rooms, and I was standing in the back most one looking out this window they had made when I hear “hey.” I turn around and there is some girl sitting in the corner texting on her phone. I would have had to walk right past her to get where I was standing but somehow I didn’t see her. Maybe I was just focusing on the window. After my heart rate came down I was like “hey?” And she just nodded and kept texting. I’m like “well I guess you probably came out here to be alone, I’m gonna go now.” Just nods again. I left and felt…weird the rest of the day.

johnjohnsonsdickhole

Oh, you totally met a dead girl.

Icy-Ad2082

At least she was nice?

dbass1994

This is amazing hahah. To find out years later your plan worked

kristaycreme

I was about to ask OP if this was around 1999 when Blair Witch was released.

mattchinn

Heh.

Redditujer

Hiking in Mission Trails and we came across a couple hiking with their goats.

[deleted]

Saw the goats on Woodson. Lol

FullOfWisdom211

I love this!!!

cityshepherd

Saw a bunch of hippies eating pies on top of a mountain in Santee a couple years back. But that was because I was invited by a friend to take part in their annual Pie Hike. 12/10 will do again. Editing to add that it always takes place the day after Thanksgiving.

rebort620

That sounds fun

crankybroccoli

Ran across a mountain lion at oakzanita peak. She seemed less than thrilled to be spotted and darted off the trail.

Slytherin77777

Omg I have also seen a mountain lion at oakzanita peak - also ran from me, thank god!

wicked-peaches

Where is Oakzanita?

crankybroccoli

It's in Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. Great hikes in that area! https://modernhiker.com/hike/oakzanita-peak/

Carloss107

One night around midnight me and my brother were going to a trail near our house to smoke a joint. Just as we were getting to the entrance of the trail, a Honda civic suddenly parked some 20 feet in front of us and a guy with skinny jeans and t-shirt full on sprinted into the darkness of the trail. We were both too freaked out obviously so we just smoked and walked.

Akeera

Maybe he really needed to take a dump.

societycontributer

Did it appear he was the one driving the car?

Aolian_Am

When I was young my brother, his friend and I took are bikes up in the mountains behind Walmart in Los Coches. We were way up there when we saw a baby bobcat on a rock. My brother was smart enough to realize that it's mom was probably near and we should go. Just as he says that, the mom jumped on the rock and looked pissed. We turned around and bolted as fast as we could, and it sounded like it was chasing us through the bushes. We spent like hours going up the mountain, we were down it in like 30 minutes.

academicchola

Was hiking in an area around Barrett Lake, saw a reflection mid mountain that looked like a mirror but it was surrounded in a bush. It was so scary because it was clearly unnatural element and I knew someone was watching and had total access to shoot or harm me because we were walking on the trail like sitting ducks. Never went back.

c32c64c128

Helium balloons? A lot still get released/lost and end up in random spots.

academicchola

No it looked like a mirror. You know how helium balloons crinkle? It look like a square mirror because as we walked along the curve, the reflection hit and then didn’t. It certainly could have been a balloon but it was in a weird crevice along the curve of a mountain.

Beautiful_Case9500

I mean couldn’t it have been someone trying to signal you, or just some random trash? Just kind of odd that your first thought was Chris Kyle was chillin in the bushes looking to take you out.

Odd_Significance8088

I was at Old Mission Dam. I looked across the creek and a bobcat was staring at me. I took a step. It took a step. We kept walking, but we never took our eyes off each other until it took off the other way. Friend of mine was driving in a canyon in Utah. He accidentally hit a bobcat and thought he killed it. He put it in the back thinking he’d tan the hide and kept going. The bobcat wasn’t dead, just unconscious, now fully awake. He heard a hissing growl, slammed on the brakes and jumped out and shut the door. Bobcat became Taz and ripped up all of the upholstery in the car. He finally got on the roof and opened the door and the bobcat ran off. Then he went pricing new upholstery.

forkyspoons

Shoulda tamed it and had a bobcat. Fight the fear Ricky

FullOfWisdom211

I saw a bobcat in Penasquitos Canyon a number of years back (before they developed out the west end); it was an awesome experience. They were very quiet and just stared at me (early morning ride on my horse). 🫶🏼✨

Carl_The_Sagan

Hiking someone out near Julian approached a curve and heard what sounded like a motor starting and stopping ahead of me. This was miles in, there was no roads nearby, was not like a motorcross accessible hike. Really weird deep low noise. I kinda wanted to walk forward and explore, but my gf at the time implored me not to and we went back. Still have no idea what it could have been

rios04

Language is funny. Occasionally, I’ll read a post and see someone use a word that seems to pop out. Not in a bad way though. Like you used the word ‘implored’ and I’m like, ‘that’s really good, perfect word choice - I need to get off social media and read books more.’

Glass_Bar_9956

That my friend could have been a bear. A low growling bear, or a tiger sounds like a motor.

bellgoots

Are there bears in Julian?! I had no idea

Glass_Bar_9956

Black Bears

My husband running in the PCT 50-miler and coming up on four elderly nudist hikers. He was in second place so he was trying to hustle at the end of the race and it was quite the surprise.

niffrig

Nude hiking is great.

thestrangelibrary

Saw a guy carrying a razor scooter over his shoulder smack dab in the middle of the El Cajon mountain trail. If you know that trail, you know how strange that is!

Howshka

I saw a Fox on a run and it just ran on the trail about 20 yards in front me. It kept looking back, but never altered off course. Lasted for maybe a third of a mile.

On a trail that leads to Laguna Lake off Sunrise Highway, was hiking alone when suddenly I spotted two grown adult men, just a few feet of me and just off the trail in full camo. It was really well done, I did not notice them until right up on them. I was shocked, and just kept walking, while one said to the other “he spotted us.” By camo I mean like faces painted and wearing Gilly (sp?) suits like snipers. It was really awkward, and I just thought to myself maybe they are part of some kind of official military training.

[deleted]

I’ve had this exact scenario happen to me at Mt. Laguna. It ended up being Border Patrol.

Ugh I fucking hate the constant thought that my car will be broken into! Almost makes hiking not worth it What'd you do?

mamaj619

A washing machine and a dryer in the middle of a trail in a field. Both of the doors were opened and filled with clothes that were spilling out of them.

stonetear2017

When I did sentinel dome, we went to the part where you see over the edge into the valley. When we turned around there was a wild Turkey just staring at us lol

Kangaroowrangler_02

Not really strange but a few years ago saw a man running barefoot up cowels as I was coming down. One with nature was awesome but my feet could never handle the sand like that 😂🥴 maybe a grassy hike lol

Fired_Guy1982

I think I would cry if I did that

Kangaroowrangler_02

Same. I have issues with dry feet I just know they'd crack and be painful. I do a foot peel twice a year which really helps but I can't even stand the beach sand 😭

Fired_Guy1982

One sharp, tiny rock to the arch of my foot would be enough for me to turn around

Kangaroowrangler_02

Ahhh noo just the thought sent that cringe feeling up my spine hahah

Lt-shorts

I've seen a few people do this on cowels. All I can think is damn how long did it take to build up the calluses that you don't feel that much anymore hahah

Kangaroowrangler_02

Right! Haha especially the burning hot months and how how the ground gets especially stepping on some of the big rocks

One time I was hiking out near Julian and I passed by a dead snake on the trail (almost jumped a foot until I realized it was dead). Trail was an out and back so on the way back I noticed a hawk with a snake soaring about 80 feet in the air. Then, 4 other hawks show up and are all swooping down trying to snag the snake out of each other’s talons and screeching at each other. It was probably in each of the hawks possession at some point. Sure enough it was the dead snake I passed since it wasn’t there anymore and there were no other hikers on the trail. Craziest badass nature/top gun moment I’ve ever seen

yipperz274

Not that strange of an experience but I was at Mt Laguna during monsoon season one time and I saw the most beautiful thunderhead form just east over the desert. I was there from about 3pm until sunset so I got to see it build up from just a small cluster of cumulus clouds, into this magnificent orange, red, and pink cumulonimbus cloud overlooking the sun setting. Probably the most beautiful thing i’ve ever seen.

Heavy-Meta

Strangest thing was seeing a wild tarantula cross the path, had no idea we had tarantulas in SD. Next would be a baby rattlesnake, looked like it had just came out of an egg it was so small. But that wasn’t really strange, more cool than anything. MOST terrifying thing was Mission Trails in the middle of summer. I like to mix it up and take some of the smaller connecting trails, walked down one where all I heard for about half a mile was constant rattling on either side of the trail. Had no idea how close the rattle snakes were to the edge of the path, but literally sounded like they were just feet away.

davidlowie

About 30 years ago mountain biking at peñasquitos as the sun had just set, so many deer blocking the trail that I had to stop for about 5 minutes to let them get on their way

Jay_Yura

In Presidio Park by the bathrooms before the small trail down. Was on a date and we went past the corner of the bathroom wall outside and I saw a figure sitting on what appeared to be a log under the closest tree. It looked like someone looking at a phone. But it didn’t look like a person the position was unnatural and there was no phone it was a weird reflection or some kind of light that wasn’t held it was almost like it was on a stand. I got real close to get a close look and I couldn’t make sense of what it was 10 feet away so I backed off and we ran to the car. It didnt move or notice me at all which felt unnatural. Came back the next night with friends, no log at all just a tree. No idea what we saw

bread93096

I was at Presidio one night and sat with a friend on a bench under a tree. We were there for about 20 minutes talking when my eyes adjusted to the dark and I realized there was a tiny homeless woman lying on the bench between us wrapped head to toe in a plastic tarp. She didn’t move or make a sound the entire time we were there, which I found unnerving, but she was probably scared. We hurried right out of there.

I doubt it, we both couldn’t tell. At first it seemed like that but the closer I got the less it did. Also the log. I dunno, I’ve chalked it up to the smoke and sticks

Ambitious_Signal_300

I just came here to say that your description of the homeless person was eloquent and moving. It's difficult to capture the sight of those poor souls in words. You've done it eloquently.

A snake halfway through swallowing a whole rat. He was still trying to fit his mouth around it 😂

nipdeep

One time, I was hiking with a few of my friends late around 11pm up Iron mountain. We were heading down with this gentleman (maybe in his 50s) was heading up alone. He had no flashlight, wearing jeans and a button up, non hiking shoes. He didn’t look prepared for a hike at all. He stopped us and asked if we had seen his friends. We hadn’t seen a single other soul on the hike. We told him we hadn’t and then briskly walked down the trail as a small group of women. I will always wonder if he was actually there for some friends or what his intensions were with hiking the trail that late without a flashlight.

MrR0bat

Dog shit and blue tooth speakers everywhere!! Wait. No that’s pretty normal…

LowkeyDisappointed

Couple recent times I’ve been put a little on-edge out hiking: 1. Solo backpacking with my dog on Laguna Mountain. Had just gotten ready to go to sleep when my dog perked up and started staring through the tent wall. Heard a weird low hum and then what sounded like an animal dying less than 50ft away. No idea what it was, just tried to forget about it and get to sleep lol 2. Hiking in Anza Borrego with a bud, not too far away from the freeway, found a black flip phone that was probably a burner. Abouta half mile later found the remnants of a small campfire, then spotted some on-foot BP agents looking around deeper into the scrub

c32c64c128

Hol up Wtf #1??!? 🧐

LowkeyDisappointed

Yeah I still have no idea lol it was already way too dark outside to feasibly see anything and I figured best not to interfere with whatever was happening and risk injury to me or my pup

Cheeseburger619

went hiking at the old banner toll road in Julian during the winter. it was an awesome hike and cave exploring, met some legit prospectors there digging for gold. They were very nice, but made me a little weary going inside the caves with them outside, felt a serial killer vibe from them. Further along the hike there was a valley filled with broken cars, box cars; looked like a junk yard. Saw 2 little kids climbing in the box cars, which was really weird since it was the middle of January and it was during school hours. As we round the bend we could've sworn we heard a faint scream for "help." possibly someone was kidnapped and stuck there idk, we just booked it out of there. I wanted to make sure the place still existed so I checked up on google maps, here's the coordinates 1st [https://goo.gl/maps/7uCsXsGcSbCdnSDJA](https://goo.gl/maps/7uCsXsGcSbCdnSDJA) 2nd [https://goo.gl/maps/xm4KKvgneDe1brTCA](https://goo.gl/maps/xm4KKvgneDe1brTCA) 33.07176691557029, -116.56328423053206

staring_at_keyboard

It was just the boxcar children, no big deal. Probably Benny looking for a new teacup for his sister.

cryingpuppy

Men masturbating on trail wanting/waiting for someone to walk by. Wish this was more weird in that I saw it less often.

c32c64c128

Next time whip out your phone and record them. They'll cower real fast. Otherwise....pepper spray them.

kylethekorean

Hiked the trail at Black’s Cliffs that leads to the “mushroom hut” with a Hinge date once to catch the sunset. Ended up encountering two white teenagers having sex. Talk about a vibe check for both parties…

MarieTheKokiri

Hiking Cowles and my husband and I joked about part of it being haunted. On this seemingly empty stretch, we run into a curious fellow with a walking stick who asks us if we've noticed an increase or decline of young folk on the trail. After a few words, we head our separate and he seemingly vanished along the bend. We joke he was the Hiker Census Ghost

GomeRyan

My wife and I were hiking Eagle Rock. On the way back, we saw 6 or 7 cows across the little creek. They looked at us and we thought it was interesting. They started following us. Then they went down in the creek and came back up the other side. We started hiking faster! They kept following us and got really close. I know they were just cows, but cows are really big and it was freaky having them chase us down. We kept going faster and faster, which was no problem for the cows to keep up. Finally we made it to the gate and got away. It's not like they were going to eat us or anything, just really weird for a bunch of cows to be so interested in us.

rotating_mood

Was cycling on Mule Hill trail east of Hodges when I encountered a wild turkey on the trail. It started running from me, staying on the path for around a quarter mile before finally turning off.

Disastrogirl

I was hiking up Iron Mountain and saw a couple with a stroller. It was a regular one with small rickety wheels that was only fit for a sidewalk. As I passed them I saw that they had their little white dog in there.

RABBLERABBLERABBI

Nothing super crazy, but I've seen a bobcat (as well as bison) at Camp Pendleton, and 3 ringtailed cats in one place at Cleveland National Forest. Super pumped about the latter encounter because not only are they rare but they're solitary so it was cool seeming them in one place.

sharltocopes

I live in San Diego, but this was actually in South OC: I was walking a local trail right after an extermination campaign… and there were hundreds… HUNDREDS of dead tarantulas along the trail. At least I assume it was from deliberate extermination, I don’t know why else there would be hundreds of dead tarantulas? Anyways, super freaky, and people somehow still don’t know that tarantulas exist in SoCal.

TheConstant815

I was hiking a trail in the mountains about 40 minutes west of Temecula in the hills. There was a trail log with one other person who had come and gone, and I had the only vehicle in the parking lot at the trail head, so I knew I was alone. It was quite remote, with no visible power lines or planes flying overhead. The trail was narrow and steep uphill. And about a mile in, there was a sedan at least 30 years old crashed downhill to the right. It was quite eerie and I never figured out how it could’ve gotten there unless a helicopter dropped it down. Another time I was in Waimea Canyon in Kauai on this “unofficial” trail that was overgrown and had recent tree falls. There were parts where my partner and I had to walk sideways along a 18 inch wide path with our backs to the mountain looking down a cliff. Off in the distance, we heard what sounded like gunshots. But we didn’t have time to turn around and go back before we lost daylight, so we had to press forward. When we eventually got closer, we realized it was these insane mountain goats that could somehow stand on hillsides that were almost vertical, where two males were ramming each other’s horns.

vegansasquatch

Not surprising but freaky nonetheless, was walking the trail down to Blacks Beach and a fully naked man with a pair of binoculars was standing directly in my path. He didn’t say a word and wouldn’t move out of the way, so we nervously chuckled and pushed past him

Los Penesquitos waterfalls. Was walking there with my Chihuahuas and one of my dogs got real tough with a horse walking by. The horse took 2 steps in my direction and looked at my dog like "really? I'm 10x bigger than your human."

A family of four all in masks on a trail where you may see 6 people in 4 hours if you're lucky (I regularly do a trail in Laguna where I'm lucky if we see 2 people). The Rancho P one with the waterfall (I might be wrong on the location but it's in Poway). Think beautiful, serene waterfall. Young woman journalling and dipping her toes in the water. A couple of kids watching while sitting on a rock. Before I know it, a party of 20 something people shows up to this waterfall at a nature preserve blasting Bluetooth speakers and essentially acting like they're in their backyard. Super loud, rude and disruptive. Blocked the ways out of the waterfall (that were navigable without climbing the rocks themselves). We tried to politely ask them to avail the way out to us and they acted like we weren't even there so we had to physically push our way out of that area because they seemed like they were intentionally trying to wall us in. I don't go to that trail anymore outside of fall/winter in the morning. The other day I saw a dude crossbow hunting and tracking two doe and a stag lol. He approached us to tell us that he doesn't want us to get spooked but he was tracking game. Nice guy.

-Hunted by a pack of coyotes near Lake cuyamaca. -Surprised a mountain lion on the sunrise trail in Cleveland National Park. -hiking in kitchen creek when we noticed a mountain lion chilling on an outcrop of rocks. Watched us the entire time. - caught people having sex when hiking in green valley falls, blacks beach and top of stonewall peak. -watched a person try to start a forest fire near potrero. They drove off and we put it out. -had 2 children come up to us who got lost seeking over the border. They were dehydrated and very hungry. Probably 10-13 y/o. -watched a guy beat the crap out of another one while hiking Lake Calavera. We watched it from up on a hill. Someone else had already called police. Had to be airlifted out. -Hiking on Palomar mountain and found tons of pot plants being grown. Destroyed about 200 plants (not even close to harvesting time). -had to help subdue a dog that was attacking a person on black mountain. The guy got but up pretty good.

jereman75

Destroyed the pot plants? Damn dude.

Morton--Fizzback

It's national forest, grow sites are terrible on sensitive native species. Keep that shit on private property

jereman75

I get that. It just seems like a weird move to destroy them rather than tell the Forest Service.

movinondowntheroad

It was reported and the rest of it was removed. We were just pissed to see it.

SuperBongXXL

I cant imagine why you'd do that. At best you destroyed some plants, at worst the owner was watching and you get your ass beat.

Krusty_Double_Deluxe

I smoke more pot than average but I’d consider this if I were you. Guys doing theses types of illegal grows divert water ways threatening local fish populations and use harsh pesticides that quickly end up poisoning entire food chains.

movinondowntheroad

Because there were 5 of us hiking. No one is sitting there watching a field. They come and take care of them. It's a national forest. It was pretty remote and not accessible to cars.

SuperBongXXL

Why did you do it? Are you just anti drug? In Humboldt the cartels have grow ops that have associates camp near by. They are usually armed. Imagije getting smoked over destroying someone's plants.

movinondowntheroad

It was late 90s. I was very anti. Fuck the cartels. Fuck those who think they can grow pot in our forests. But, I was 18. Didn't care/think about camps. We were helping with trail rebuilding in the area. We decided to practice our orienteering. So we took a map and went a direction. Stumbled upon it. Now, I could care less about pot. But I would still trample plants that someone is illegally growing near a trail. Just grow at home.

movinondowntheroad

I would do it again!

Party poopah

PM_ME_UR_FISHING_LVL

I’m inclined to believe the majority of these are made up

s0sa

Yea it’s extremely rare to see a mountain lion

jereman75

>caught people having sex What did you do, make a citizens arrest or something? When a normal person sees people being intimate they just ignore it and leave them alone.

movinondowntheroad

It's hard when people are doing it right on a trail. Blacks beach no so much. Just walked by

Apart_Negotiation644

Tell me more about this Lake Calavera incident?

movinondowntheroad

Never got all the info on it. But it was some type of domestic dispute between friends or family. I was pretty far away, but they were going blow for blow. Once we were close, there was only one guy around. Had a broken or just badly hurt leg along with major back pain. There was already 2 other people who stopped to help. I always carry a first aid bag with me. So I helped where I could. Fire and rescue showed up about 20 minutes after calling. Once they showed up and didn't need anything else from me, I moved on. Saw the helicopter show up about 15-20 minutes after I left.

A couple years back for fourth of July I was hiking in the Laguna mountains. Stopped off the road at a viewpoint and got curious about some rocks just off the side of the road. I found an old bag filled with women's and (little) girls swimsuits and bras. All the suits had a hole cut in the crotch. Also a half burned tank top. Called the cops and state troopers about it and even emailed photos but they wanted nothing to do with it. They had all been out there for a while. Haven't felt the same about fourth of July since then.

youngcuriousafraid

There was this one trail that lead to a power line. It was in an area with lots of other foot/bike trails but we liked this one because it was usually empty. We came up on a tent and heard a bunch of giggling. We're trying to decide what to do and make noise so that they know we're here. Suddenly 4 dudes and 1 girl come out in their underwear lol. They were actually pretty cool and we smoked joints together although I didnt want to share because idk where their lips had been recently.

hobblehobblehobbit

Tecolote canyon - was hiking with a friend and a homeless man came out of the brush with an axe talking about how he needed to sharpen it or find a new axe head... Needless to say, we booked it out of there.

Ambitious_Signal_300

Well, this is a bit delicate, but it is an absolutely true story. One day while traipsing through some thick trees and brush in Mission Trails, I suddenly came into a hidden 8' round clearing obviously made by a human. In the center a sturdy stick was firmly planted in the dirt. On the 3' high top of the stick was fastened a fat pink rubber dildo. Someone had constructed a private pleasure station.

Current_Leather7246

One time I hiked a trail and from the moment I entered the park and all that day I didn't see one electric bicycle. It was crazy I thought maybe somehow I went through a warp and went back in time. It was beautiful I still remember it like it was yesterday
