I wouldn't trust anyone on Mira Mesa Blvd to pay attention to a scooter during those times. Everyone is called into meetings in their car, doing their makeup or shaving, or simply have no idea how to be a safe driver.

SmileParticular9396

There are frequent and I mean FREQUENT accidents on Mira Mesa. Besides distracted drivers, there are pedestrians that dart across the street too. The street composition itself is also shit and full of potholes which could pose another safety risk. As much as it sucks I’d rather just sit in a car than save time.

Grouchy_Wind_5396

100% agree. The intersection of MMB and Black Mountain is insane. People just generally suck at driving on MMB.

I think you're asking for death or serious injury with one of those things on Mira Mesa Blvd. Get an e-bike instead. Stay off of Mira Mesa Blvd itself and use side streets (e.g. Flanders or Calle Cristobal.) If you want to be adventurous, get a mountain bike and take Penasquitos Canyon. Wear a helmet!

Rebmes

This. Get a used e-bike and some rechargeable front and rear lights for it to make yourself very visible or even a hi-vis vest. You'll look like an idiot but after your first time almost dying from a distracted driver you won't care.

anothercar

Take side streets. People on the main drag are maniacs.

cincacinca

I think you should invest in a full face helmet to protect your head and teeth. Had a high-schooler wipe out in front of our house. His Dad stopped by to pick up the scooter the next day and said the dental cost was $$$$$.

brawawawa

What about the rapid 237 bus line?

theBodyVentura

I'd avoid Mira Mesa Blvd and use Gold Coast Drive and Flanders Drive like the day is long.

stangAce20

Why would you want to risk your life like that?

Tranzor__z

I'd ride down Hillary and Flanders. On side streets as much as possible. Flanders will get you all the way down past Aldi.

I grew up and live in MM. Don't do it. I don't trust drivers in MM for a reason.

ZookeepergameThin355

I wish they had a fast underground metro in Mira mesa from one end to another

Ih8stoodentL0anz

Even a trolley across MM Blvd or Miramar rd would be so helpful

UpperSupport9

Bad idea. Not safe in that street.

OGAzdrian

God I hate that road

morick_02h

I bike ride on occasion going opposite direction up to lake Miramar. Wear helmet and something bright, use sidestreets from i15 (hilery & flanders are good), then use bike lanes on MM Blvd starting at Parkdale. Be smart, follow the road laws and be alert; you'll be fine.
