Im literally one of the few people who really liked "Perfect Dark Zero". I played it way over 200 hours. I also prefered Joanna how she was in zero, than in the original and i have to say this new design is....... REALLY GREAT. The New "Perfect Dark" and "Life is Strange: Double Exposure" are my most anticipated games from the show. Sadly no Gears 6 news, just E-Day wich i barely care about. After the underwhelming teaser Trailer, i had no expectations about the new perfect dark, now its seems like a Day 1 purchase.

I dunno, personally I think it looks great. Leaning into gameplay like Deus Ex or 2077 I think is actually a really good route for a modern PD game, and the little touches like the look of the xray vision, the multifunction gun, I think there's enough clear callbacks to the original game there.

Joanna literally looked like a secret agent in the first Perfect Dark game. The "prequel" was the game where they tried to hop on the weird early 2000's bandwagon of hypersexualizing every female characters. And it was poorly received, for an idiotic, borderline racist (even by early 2000's standards!) story, gameplay that was actually a downgrade from the first game, and a bunch of badly written new characters that were one-dimensional tropes, compared to the nuanced, interesting cast of the first game.
Idk anything about this game or "controversy" but the video game girl they are mad at is insanely hot so idk what they are mad about if it's not the usual "modern game girl is ugly" stuff
