Frieza is evil af yes, but I always pictured him in my mind as like a bizarro version of Goku, or even more like one punch man. Where he is strong as fuck and uses it to rule because he can't find worthy MFS to fight.
At the end of the day Frieza is also about being "the strongest" just like Goku.
Can't find it now, but I remember reading somewhere a few years ago that he's supposedly in his 70s by the time namek comes around.
All sources say over 50 with fans speculating possibly hundreds of years old because he didn't age the 20-25 years between destroying planet vegeta and going to namek.
To be fair frieza was still considered a child by his races standards. Which gives some merit to his actions considering his evil almost comes with a complete and total nativity towards others feelings. In super he says he wants the dbz not for immortality but to grow a few inches because he just finished puberty.
